Jun 20,2023Danielle helped me at Harriet and Ellis and overall I didn’t find them helpful, they recommended a place which i accepted and started working at and when it fell through due to an awful manager Danielle told me to call places myself and that was her form of help afterwards. Not impressed, wouldn’t go to Harriet and Ellis again.

Jun 20,2023I have been with this course since last August. It is good course but it is hard for those who haven't got any experience on dental nurse . Especially for the people who is not native English speaker. I had loads support from Preet. I felt when I needed talking to someone, she is always there. ROE is the big job for this course. I am so pleased I am nearly finished. I am located in Newcastle upon Tyne. Not many practice would accept trainee. They don't even know ROE. So I would advice other new student who is from North East giving self extra time to look for the practice before the course starts.

I wanted to tell special thanks to Cathryn Cheetham for her support in completing my ROE on time before my maternity leave so as I could all have it signed off before that time. Also wanted to thank Gurpreet Kaur for her customer service. She was happy to send my copy of diploma to Australia as we left UK shortly after I qualified. I didn't rate them 5 star as at times I had to chase twice for some answers to my queries that made the journey a bit challenging. Otherwise, happy with them

Jun 20,2023A good course provider but could easily make minor improvements which would result in major positive changes. Staffing seems to be an issue, as does communication. Course structure could also be improved in line with other providers who run same course. I would recommend them to people who are able to self direct and do not require much assistance, other candidates are unsuitable for this style of course. Dental nursing Diploma Gurpreet (Preet) is helpful where possible and leaned on her a lot during course.

Jun 20,2023Received help with finding a job as trainee dental nurse, interview tips, good tutors, online study materials available. Online classes happened on Saturdays which was helpful but also felt it was too much to take in as a lot of topics are being covered in one session. Overall good experience. Gurpreet Kaur was helpful and used to respond to queries as quickly as possible.

Jun 19,2023Everything seems to be generic, no personal touch or support . Emails sent to everyone I appreciate that there are many students but sometimes it became stressful thinking things hasn't been done correctly on the course. Then my certificate wasn't sent out recorded delivery and which I never received it delaying my GDC registration, loss of earnings , wasn't delt with in a reassuring or calming manner the comment I got was ' well how comes everyone else got there's ? ' I felt like she was insinuating I was lying and to make me feel stupid sent out a photocopied version signed delivery. This photocopy wasn't great. I stated I could have done that myself . I work hard to gain my qualification and was so upset that Harriet Ellis could not replace the certificate themselves. They where the ones who did not send it out recorded on the first instant. Glad to be done with this training group, and have giving my employee the same feed back.

Jun 19,2023Always they answerd in time when I had some questions. Harriet &Ellis best school for dental nurses they got lovely teachers and lovely staff. I recomanded. As well Gurpreet Kaur answered faster to my emails and was very helpful.

Jun 19,2023I had paid for a fully online course to obtain educational materials and to do some self tests in my account online. I believe these are equal to phyiscal books provided to the students enrolled in any course and my self tests are my own data. by asking for them to refresh my mind as I have not been praciticing for a while so I can be efficient in my job up to date and fit to practice they refused to give the educationall materials or text book that I was never given in a physical copy. Beside being my text books and data (self tests) this would also affect the standards of practicing and providing the best to patient by banning people to have access to what is firstly their own materials they paid for and also benifecial for protect the patience, it seems it is not the patient, staff or GDC standards what matters here, it seems it is all about money and making process diffcult and making up rules just to create an atmosphere stress and unhappy environment.

Jun 19,2023I have to say thanks to my office supporter Gurpreet, she always contact me and ask me how I am getting on with my course and ROE. She always try the best to give much helps as she can. The lessons was good, our tutor Caroline is a great person, she is very patience and very helpful, clear explain for the student's questions. Our ROE marker Caroline Battersby is a great tutor, she always straight way to write the feedback after I done my ROE Pers, very appreciate it for her support. The only thing is not quite right, too much over charging for the resit fees, image how we can afford it.

Jun 19,2023All the staff member of Harriet Ellis are calm and and supportive. They clearly explain about their service and nature of the course they have provided. Especially, Gurpreet helped me to create a CV for the job placement. Even though I have had a long experience in dental assisting in my country I was wondering for a pathway to progress my career in the UK. When I joined Harriet Ellis, It has been a great support for me to find a job in the dental practice as a trainee dental nurse. I hope I will get the same kind of support during my course as well.

Jun 17,2023In all fairness Harriet Ellis was a pretty positive experience for me, I mean they’ve changed my life in more ways than one.. not only did I do my nursing qualification but I also done my Maths and English alongside it, so there was a lot going on.. intense! A massive shoutout to Sarah Broom she is THE BEST maths and english tutor i could of EVER asked for.. honestly cannot thank her enough, Sarah made my maths experience more enjoyable & easier to understand (it was my dark nemesis but I passed!!!) I gave up everything to solely focus on qualifying - if you suffer with mental health it has most definitely helped me improve on things for example phone calls.. never used to like phone calls cause of my anxiety but along the way because of calls, lessons & zoom meetings my confidence has grown, speaking to people 1-2-1 has also helped me hand in hand with my job itself.. this course is down to your own initiative if you want it you work for it.. you really do need to get into your work zone & just get typing for your workbooks etc.. you are in control don’t leave it till last minute, unfortunately the one downside is that my dental educationalist who is your go to for help, to ask questions & for your practicals etc changed regularly.. which wasn’t great as you grow a bond with your DE and then they would constantly get changed which didn’t help with my anxiety much but the DE’s I dealt with were all really supportive & lovely, not got any bad words to say about any of them! Alicia, Trudie, Aimee & Joanne Chamberlain - my final DE absolutely incredible!! I got apprentice of the month which was such an overwhelming feeling to know my work has been noticed, I think that was a lovely touch.. the lessons are informative but you must do your own research, the lessons are there as a guide! Being able to do the majority of this from home worked perfectly for me, no distractions I just got into the zone at home & typed away for hours found it therapeutic, and as for all my exams they were all sat from home which helped with my anxiety not having to travel, as it was done in the comfort of my own home which helps immensely.. this was a brilliant concept, as it was away from all distractions in a college etc.. when it comes to your end point assessment you find out your results very quickly (done my exam on a friday & found out the results an hour later which is incredible, not having to wind yourself up over the weekend about it!) You must be vocal with your DE & teachers etc if there is a problem or you don’t understand something just ask!! Don’t go silent you must communicate. Another thing aswell, on one occasion my DE was unable to come into practice for an observation so managed to plan with another DE to come to my practice instead.. of course as a student wanting to pass you work yourself up for this as you wanna do well and get another box ticked, but unfortunately she never arrived and didn’t ring until the afternoon to say she wasn’t coming.. this was unacceptable and I got myself into a terrible state of anxiety, not nice for my colleagues to see but that was a bad thing I remember.. but she wasn’t my usual DE, I never dealt with her again. Sometimes marking of workbooks especially in the beginning was terribly slow, you would feel like you’re doing workbook after workbook (sometimes 20+ pages of work) which you want marked that got delayed, but my cohort was during COVID-19 so, it was a surreal experience for us all. You get to do a variety of work, including the written practical observations & then simulations for example decon, manual charting etc.. closer towards finalising my portfolio somehow someone lost parts of my work, which I wasn’t happy about and told the company, then somehow they found the work again, so just minor things really that are negatives. At the end of the day, everyone will have a totally different experience different DE’s etc.. considering my mental health, at first i’d of said if you struggle with mental health this course isn’t for you BUT actually this course was perfect for me and i’m a stronger person for it, it gave me so many opportunities to grow, strength my knowledge and confidence and to create some lovely working relationships with the Harriet Ellis team, I felt overjoyed when I qualified but also a little sad that it was all over.. as overall I thoroughly enjoyed it.
