We recently received our bare root Rosa "Canary Bird", and whilst we were delighted to have it, we were surprised at the transit packaging it arrived in. The description/instructions enclosed indicated that, in cases of waterlogged or frozen ground, the plant can be temporarily stored out of its "recyclable plastic bag". We did not receive any recyclable bag inside the package. Instead, the plant was just rolling around inside the box, with nothing to cushion it in transit. Whilst we acknowledge its description as "bare root", there was nothing protecting the roots whatsoever. Furthermore, at least three stems had broken. We put the plant into water straightaway to hydrate it. The rose has now been planted in our garden, and here's hoping that it will thrive in due course
I ordered two Canary Bird Rose plants I received an email confirming when they would arrive. I noted on themail that it stated one Rose so I messaged back the discrepancy and low and behold I received a very well packed large box with three Bare root plants in, so thankyou so much,Thanks also for the details of how to care for them, they are in my garden and one in a large pot awaiting the Spring.

Ordered x9 hydrangea plants in October and when I hadn't received them a couple of weeks later wrote to Hayloft to ask when they would be sent. I received a reply a couple of days later to tell me that they would be sent in September 2025! No mention of this when I ordered them, and needless to say I asked for the order to be cancelled. I was told my refund was being processed. That was on 12th Nov - 2 weeks ago, and still no refund. I have chased them and not even had a reply. I had a bad experience with Hayloft before, after receiving poor quality and incorrect plants but put this down to the busy time of year. After this latest experience I certainly won't be using Hayloft again.
The 3 plants arrived promptly and well packaged, but one of them was very small compared with the other 2. I hope it will flourish.

Good strong plants arrived in excellent condition. They arrived the day after the snow arrived. Kept them on the windowsill until it warmed up a bit and planted them with lots of mulch.. fingers crossed.
My plant arrived a few days ago and I have to say that for the price, I was quite disappointed. I ordered this quite some time ago but knew it wouldn't arrive until now. What I had expected was a plant with more than one tiny leaf. I have put it in the greenhouse, talked to it and said a prayer over it for its survival. I have bought from Hayloft before and they are usually very good.

Nov 28,2024I ordered 3 Hellebores and a Forsythia from Hayloft through a Radio Times reader offer. Very pleased with the plants which were beautifully packed and looked very healthy. Not so pleased with them being delivered to the wrong address and having to search the neighbourhood to find the porch in the photo, though this wasn't Hayloft's fault as the parcel was clearly & correctly addressed.
