I have used Katherine's on Gosforth High Street for many years and every time it is the same friendly helpful staff that look after you and my latest order flowers for Mothers Day was the same experience and when I phoned my Mam on Sunday she said the flowers were beautiful thanks again for a great result.

I ordered flowers from Switzerland at the last minute for my friend's birthday, to be delivered in Newcastle. They arrived on time, and my friend was delighted with the quality and arrangement of the purple tulips. I also found their website easy to navigate, and the photos of the arrangements accurately matched what was delivered. I thought the prices were good value for money. Thank you.
I was disappointed by the bouquet I received. The petals on some of the flowers were already brown and didn’t look fresh at all. Not great when it was for mothers day

From start to finish Jen listened to what our requirements were and produced 5 of the most beautiful arrangements for my mother’s funeral. Jen added me to WhatsApp and we stayed in contact throughout the whole process. I can’t thank Kathleen’s Florists enough, I can highly recommend them for all occasions. I have ordered Christmas Wreaths from Katherine’s florists for the last 30+ years.. as a former employee I was never disappointed with any of them. Helen always made sure they were exactly what I wanted and I was never worried that they wouldn’t be up to scratch . This year was different , the business has been sold so I was a bit concerned about ordering but after looking at the new owners website claiming all sorts of accolades I decided to go with them. I explained that I wanted two wreaths to take to the Crematorium for my late Mother I explained exactly what I wanted… I asked if the same members of staff were there and was told one of them was so I mistakenly thought I would get something the same or similar to the ones I usually had . My elderly Dad went to collect them on Christmas Eve… he was charged £100. I went to my Dad’s home at lunchtime and could not believe what I was seeing, I was horrified !! My Dad always has red & gold silk Christmas Roses/Ponsetia’s with acorns , cinnamon sticks and dried orange .. all the Christmassy things you would expect to see on a high end wreath .., mine should have been the same content but with cream and gold colour scheme. The wreath’s they had made were tacky to say the least… cheap red silk roses with nasty cheap plastic berries sprayed gold .. mine had glow in the dark luminous yellow roses which I’m sure could be seen from outer space they were that bright. There was no substance to them at all , they were made up of a metal frame with spruce wired to it .., they were no where near what I had asked for . To add insult to injury they’d had shoved them in two black bin liners .., there was no cellophane around them .. as was usual . I was an employee of Katherine’s for years and I have never seen such a shambles in all my time working there.. it would never have been allowed. I find it hard to comprehend how anyone would think it is acceptable to put wreaths ordered for a crematorium in two black bin bags. I contacted the office of Katherine’s and spoke to Suzanne , I told her I was not happy and had expected better. I was told she would speak to the person in charge .. whose name I know as she has been there for years but who I will not name . I explained I had thought better of this person and couldn’t believe she had let these wreaths leave the premises . I was told I would get a call back , so after two hours of waiting I rang them again . I spoke to Bernadette who told me that Suzanne had left for the day .., how’s that for customer service !! I had a long conversation with Bernadette who was perfectly pleasant and very apologetic .. I explained how disappointed I was , it was too late in the day to do anything to rectify the situation and now my Dad and I had no alternative but to take these shoddy wreaths to the Crematorium as we had no other option and to be honest I was ashamed . It’s a big thing for us as a family to go there every year .. not just at Christmas but especially at this time of year and we like to take nice wreaths , red from my Dad and cream from myself .. and this year it was spoilt completely . As I say Bernadette was very apologetic because she couldn’t rectify the situation, she was mortified when I told her we’d been given the wreaths in two bin bags .I understand it wasn’t her fault .. she had been left to carry the can .. the head florist was the person who gave my Dad the wreaths , she put them in the bin bags and to be honest I expected better of her . In the end my Dad was refunded the full cost but that wasn’t the point … the wreaths were awful .. cheap and nasty and not what I’d anticipated at all and this spoiled Christmas Day for us. In future I will be making my own .. I did pick up some skills from my time working for the original owners and I’m sure I can do a better job than these new owners did . It’s such a shame that a business built up over the last fifty + years can be ruined in a matter of weeks .
