Dec 27,2024The measure of a good retailer is their ability to respond when something goes wrong. In my case the 500kg delivery of oak I had ordered did not arrive on the date specified, and whilst OakMax are not directly responsible for the courier they are responsible for making sure the goods arrive. OakMax responded very well and were very apologetic, they quickly identified the problem, rang me back when they said they would, and the delivery was rearranged to my satisfaction. The quality of the oak purchased from OakMax was exceptional, exactly as ordered and I am very happy with my purchase and the service from OakMax.

Dec 20,2024My delivery did not turn up for the second time. Rearranged for sat morning between 9 and 10 then didn’t turn up till 12 as a result I lost another days wages and my kid missed football training on the Saturday

Nov 28,2024Went to collect and was told by email I would be given a hand to load my van… no one helped just left me too it. On checking the oak I got I found bowed boards and some missing wood on a long edge.. not the quality that’s shown on the website.

Nov 22,2024Excellent service, communication was fabulous and the delivered product (35 boards of 200mm x 30mm x 3 metres oak) was top quality. Description was fresh sawn so I expected 50% > moisture content so was pleasantly surprised at 18-23%. This is low enough to put straight into my kiln and I should have workable stable timber in around 4 weeks. Will definitely use these guys again for future projects. Keep up the good work 👏

Oct 15,2024Wood is excellent quality. Yes a slight bit of bending on a few but that’s wood. Gave it four stars as would not have been able to get it off lorry with just two people. Luckily I had tractor with front loader to get them off. Be aware this wood is much heavier than expected Need to send a lorry with a lift to get it off Would buy again as quality for the price is excellent and company kept me informed of order and delivery. Driver was excellent he worked hard to help get it unloaded just sorry I hadn’t thought to give him a tip
