Ocean Estate Agents have been selling Bristol homes of all shapes and sizes – large and small, grand ¬and modest, smart and not so smart… for all kinds of people since 1984.
Founder Paul Harris started the business over 40 years ago with Ocean Bishopston on Gloucester Road, and there are now 12 local offices across the city including one in Portishead and Weston super Mare.
Their ethos is very much ‘people before property’, with the emphasis on looking after the individuals and families buying or selling their homes, to make what is often a challenging experience, as worry-free as possible.
Ocean’s teams, reflect the culturally rich communities of this wonderful city, spanning a diverse mix of ages and backgrounds from across Bristol.
It is also very much a family business. Many of the team have grown up and started their own families whilst working for Ocean – they even have some second generation ‘Oceaners’ now working for the company.

Jun 01,2024I asked Ocean Estate Agents to find me tenants for a flat I own in Bristol. They responded immediately and asked me to submit information and relevant documentation. Within a few days they had found me tenants. They informed me of all the regulations required for letting out the flat. They inspected the property immediately. They obtained Tenancy references for the tenants and organised the Tenancy Agreement. They were very cooperative in every aspect and answered every question I asked. I could not be more satisfied with this efficient and experienced Company and highly recommend them.

It was a very stressful time for us but we found the staff at Ocean extremely helpful and empathetic. Their online portal was a little frustrating to begin with but once set up it was a great way to view the progress of the sale, communicate with the team and keep files all together. Our conveyancing team worked really hard to get our sale completed within the tight timescale and kept us informed throughout the process. Thank you to Karen and everyone involved. May 24,2024The sale process was smooth and there weren’t unnecessary delays in the process. Unfortunately we felt that our move manager was speaking to the seller’s interest all the time. We were glad we didn’t go for their In-house lawyer as the discussions could’ve been even more one-sided although we’ve been told that in-house lawyers are from a different branch. Simple queries from us were made into complicated, very difficult to follow answers with legal jargon and it felt very frustrating at times giving off the impression that it was being done on purpose When we raised any issues, it felt staff were taking a very defensive approach on behalf of sellers . when we insisted this be discussed with the sellers , we almost always got positive response from sellers. There seemed to be a natural inclination to take the sellers side even without discussing with them. I wouldn’t deal with this agency again if possible
