I rented a car 28 July-4 August via Jet2 holidays. My advice is do your due diligence. Pick up from the airport was prompt. Check in at the office was prompt with plenty of agents available. They do operate a ticket system during busy periods. I had purchased full protection insurance from jet 2 so didnt need any additional insurance. I was not pressurised into buying their insurance. The agent was very good and explained very carefully that there was 2 pieces of damage highlighted on the car and explained that i should check the car myself and video any damage i found. So i spent 20 mins checking the car. I know its a pain in 30 degree heat but you must do it. They are very clear check the car!. I found 19 other bits of damage and some quite substantial . Yes alot and you could argue that you could be caught out. I videoed the car. Upon return i was told the damage was too minor for them to worry about and i was not charged and my card fully refunded. I had refuelled and fully refunded. So they are very upfront what you should do. I know its a pain on holiday to check and double check but if you do you should be ok.
Picked up / Dropped off car in Son Bou. Car was great for what we needed however despite returning the car with a full tank (closest petrol station was 7km so had to drive back from there!) they still charged me ~€20 for fuel. When I went to the desk to discuss it, the employee couldn’t care less, despite showing them a receipt from the petrol station and the fact that there was more range when I gave the car back than when I collected it. Looking at other reviews, this company just takes advantage of having your card details for extra charges. Will not be using this company again.
I wouldn't leave 1 star if I didn't have to. Absolute scam of a company. Take photo's and I mean lots of photo's. Just dropped a car back, the chap that I handed it back too, went straight to the passengers wing mirror and found the smallest scratch. I wiped it off, but still claimed it needed painting. I couldn't find the photo when I was there, but I have now, so will be emailing very shortly. They are taking 350 euros out of my deposit. I had just watched the same person do exactly the same to the customer before us. I have extra insurance to cover this. Strange he asked me if I had before he told me.
I felt obliged to write a review after seeing all the negative reviews. We used Owners in Menorca, Son Bou, and couldn't have had a better/easier time. Everything was so simple and straightforward. Car was fantastic and the collection/drop-off was a doddle. Would definitely recommend them and use again!
Pues la verdad una experiencia contrastada y más o menos bien, menos la chulería que tiene un hombre por teléfono para explicarte un suplemento que se lo sacan de la manga el mismo día de la reserva, si nos avisan con tiempo...no me parece ni normal ni transparente, ya que no lo indica en absolutamente ningún lado, si es verdad que el extra es entendible pero hay maneras de explicar las cosas de manera calmada y sin faltar el respeto, yo llevo más de 10 años trabajando en una multinacional en atención al cliente y jamás he tratado así a nadie...Al final los perjudicados somos nosotros y que si alguien debería estar enfadado, somos nosotros...pero tampoco se justificaría que hablásemos así con alguien que nos está atendiendo...pero aquí al parecer si... Me pidieron por teléfono que les enviara un email con una captura de pantalla de las condiciones dónde no pone nada de eso...¿Respuesta? Ninguna, no había argumentos...al final decidimos seguir con la reserva, te avisan unas horas antes para que ya no puedas contratar el alquiler en otro lado. Os aconsejo mejor otra empresa de alquiler, os costará menos y quizás sean más amables, eso sí, los que nos atendieron en al recoger el coche, muy amables y también nos dejaron un coche mejor del contratado...pero eso ya nos trastocó el inicio de vacaciones...
The pickup time was for 11am at a hotel in our local area. Turns out it was the wrong address. After calling the number from the confirmation email, the man on the phone repeatedly refused to give me the actual address of the meeting point and kept insisting to look on their website. I was an hour late due to his negligence, only to meet the most vile, disgusting human wretch on the face of menorca, who was only interested in arguing with me over the exact address of the pick up point. (I even had the receptionist at our hotel we were actually staying at speak to him and he shouted at her over the phone!!) He then admitted the address was wrong and hadn't been updated in six years but made it apparent that it was my fault. In the end I walked away and I was glad. Words cannot describe my experience with this utter pathetic troglodyte, who is better off unemployed!!
Got a multiple damaged some dirty car. Pictures of the damage I had to take myself when picking up for proof. Not at all fully fueled. Long lines when bringing back. Some irritated personnel. High charge of little damage of which some might have been there. They informed not correctly about the deductible sum. Good quality car though.
We got the car dirty and my sister made pictures before. When we brought back the car, they insisted, after a long inspection, some (light) scratched which they said, where not there before. They did not want to get in discussion or look properly at the pictures we made at the start of the rental. They where very impolite. After they charged us 450€! For what? The rental was cheap but do not go for it. They make their money by charging damage.
Te encuentran arañazos por 400 € + gestión + impuestos que no estaban al devolver el vehículo, la sorpresa llega cuando vuelves a casa. son los mismos que autosmenorca.
When I got the car, it was very dirty and with scratches everywhere. When I brought it back the operator made me pay for one of them even after seeing photos which proved I wasn't responsible for them. Worse, they mentioned two new scratches behind my back, on the contract! I had to address the custommer service and send the proofs to get a refund... Thieves, that's what they are at Minorque's airport. I wouldn't even put one star if it was possible. (AutosMernorca and Ownerscars are two names for the same compagny)
I rented a car with HOLIDAY AUTOS and ended up with OWNERS CARS. My contract included insurance and I also had an annual excess policy the documents of which I took with me on holiday. I left home at 2am for a 6am flight when we arrived at the hire desk counter we were told we had to take out extra insurance because we would be driving completely un-insured! I showed their agent my contract and my excess insurance but he was adamant that we couldn’t have our car without taking the insurance. I tried to contact HOLIDAY AUTOS and typically there was no phone number so we had to pay so that we could go and enjoy our holiday. I raised the issue with HOLIDAY AUTOS through their RESOLVE sight on the day of hiring but have heard nothing and CAR OWNERS say the insurance was optional.. We met another couple on the transfer back to the airport with the exact same experience!! THIS COMPANY IS DISHONEST AND RUNNING A SCAM ON INSURANCE DO NOT USE!
Excellent service from start to finish by Jenny and Louisa in their cala blanca office. Had fab time exploring Menorca by car. Thanks guys! Told by tour rep I could not get car locally in Cala Blanca at time, but you came up trumps!
Scammed on fuel. Booked a car "full/full" on fuel. Picked it up late at night, contract confirmed car tank was 8/8.ie full. Did not notice until next day it was half full. I filled it up on return, 27 litres having done just 69 kilometres. They told me I was "told on pick up to return it with the same fuel level" A lie. I was not. Scammed out of 45 euros. This was through their asssosciate company Autosmenorca.
Bei CHECK24 gebucht und den Gesamtbetrag beglichen. Bei Abholung musste ich weitere 30€ - Bearbeitungsgebühr!!! - begleichen. Wurde mir vorab nicht mitgeteilt. Leider habe ich mein Portemonnaie nach Abgabe im Auto zurück gelassen und wollte es im Nachhinein abholen. Ist natürlich mein Fehler, aber wirklich schade, dass mir mitgeteilt wurde, es wäre nicht aufzufinden. Ich bin mir sicher,es lag auf der Rückbank.
Los coches están en buen estado, es lo único que hay positivo del servicio. Todo tiene costes adicionales, al llegar te exigen pagar un seguro a todo riesgo que supone el (70%) de lo que has pagado previamente, no te estipulan bajo ningún contrato cuánto supone al día el Seguro a todo riesgo. Por supuesto, si hay alguna avería por la meteorología y has contraído un seguro a terceros, eres el responsable y tendrás que pagar por todo ello. Colaboran con otras empresas que te cobran por anticipado el seguro y después si contratas otro diferente, te quedas sin el dinero aportado al principio porque ellos no se hacen responsables del reembolso. La otra empresa, no coge las llamadas y tampoco se hace responsable una vez has dejado el coche y te han facilitado un teléfono en la oficina que atienden… Adicionalmente a tu llegada para recoger el vehículo, tienen un recargo de 100 por el depósito del coche, su gancho del “lleno-lleno” con muchas mentiras. Tengan cuidado con esta empresa por qué se lava las manos en todos los aspectos, dinero que das, dinero que no vuelve a tu cuenta…. ¡Servicio más que nefasto y un robo en mayúsculas!
Poor service. I had two trolley bags and the guy that drove us back to the airport told me it was not his job to help with the luggage. On arrival he rudely rushed us off the van banging the door and saying he ‘had more customers’ when we knew we were the last except for another couple that has issues with a scratch. Shame as he ruined what had been a positive experience thus far.
Be Careful - 120 euro deposit for fuel and if you don't pay for the extra insurance you have to pay a deposit by credit card for the insurance excess which was 800 euros in our case - other hire companies make this quite clear but Owners Club have buried that information deep in their Conditions so that you could very easily miss it and this condition is not stated at all on the confirmation email you get - their marketing is VERY misleading - we cancelled the car hire, losing one day's rental and waiting up to 10 days for the balance refund - which ate into out holiday money
We have hired cars over the years but this was first time with Owners Cars. Got an upgrade to a Toyota Yaris Hybrid automatic on arrival which was very good. Car unfortunately developed a fault when out one day ( discovered problem when about to drive back to our resort). Rang office and staff member was with us with a replacement vehicle ( further upgrade to Seat Arona FR automatic) within 30 mins. Excellent service. Staff pleasant cheerful and courteous. All cars in excellent condition and spotlessly clean). Definitely we will use them again- Excellent!
Brilliant fault free-service. Friendly staff, quick transfers. Good prices (insurance waiver included). No hustle pick up and even speedier return. We use every year.

Sep 26,2024Vorneweg, der Mietpreis war günstig und bisher war ich auch immer zufrieden aber diesmal kann ich nur von diesem Unternehmen abraten oder aber ganz viel Zeit investieren um eventuelle Schäden zu dokumentieren! Habe Gott sei Dank ne Vollkasko ohne Selbstbeteiligung gehabt! Mal sehen ob ich mein Geld wieder bekomme! Anscheinend hat diese Autovermietung sich dieses Jahr vorgenommen niedrige Preise durch vorgetäuschte Schäden zu erhöhen. Ich habe ein ziemlich dreckiges Auto (innen und außen)bekommen mit angeblich nur zwei kleinen Vorschäden--gefunden und dokumentiert habe ich wesentlich mehr! Leider habe ich einen übersehen! Bei Rückgabe des Autos ging der Mitarbeiter gezielt auf zwei Schäden zu, die offiziell nicht angegeben waren! >Einen hatte ich bildlich aber festgehalten und trotzdem wollte er dies nicht glauben und fing an zu streiten-bis er es einsehen musste-den anderen hab ich leider übersehen! Obwohl ich diesen Schaden nicht verursacht habe und dies mit Zeugen belegen konnte wurde selbst, als man sehen konnte das dies ein schon wesentlich älterer Schaden war nicht akzeptiert! Man nutzte dann auch aus das man bei Abgabe auch etwas unter Zeitdruck steht wegen des Rückflugs! Es wurden sofort 350 Euro einbehalten und 3 Tage später kam auch schon eine Werkstattrechnung (auf Menorca gerade fast unmöglich so schnell nen Termin zu bekommen) per E-mail mit meiner einkopierten Unterschrift vom Beginn der Vermietung! Schade dies war das letzte Mal das ich dort ein Auto gemietet habe! Das ist einfach nur noch BETRUG!!! Wie ich lesen konnte bin ich auch nicht der >einzige, der dies dieses Jahr zu spüren bekommen hat!
