Palmer Lim provides expert advice on a whole range of land, construction and property matters. We carry out residential and commercial building surveys for a whole range of purposes. We provide expert witness services in disputes between landlords and tenants, builders and their customers, main contractors and sub contractors, in personal injury claims where building defects the alleged cause, and in negligence claims involving surveyors. We also advise on boundary disputes. We help clients with the professional elements of their building projects, including planning, building regulations, contract selection, specifications, drawings, and managing projects from conception to completion. Had a house survey done in Nov 2020 by Steve. All was fine in the beginning: process and communication. But with time it became apparent that things were missed. Firstly, the surveyor didn't notice a leak in the loft. Later, when I checked it myself, the problem was obvious as pipe insulation was soaking wet. Also, there were signs of leek on the first floor ceiling. When I contacted Steve, he came out to have a look and gave some useful advice. But I already bought the house, so it was useful but too late. Secondly, there was mould in a built-in wardrobe, which wasn't in the report. Again, Steve came over to have a look and gave advice, but it should've been spotted in the first place. The fact that there were things in the wardrobe reducing visibility, is a weak argument in my opinion. Have these 2 things were spotted, I wouldn't have bought the house.

I decided to choose Palmer Lim Surveyors after reading all the wonderful reviews online. I also really liked the fact that I could have a video call with Steve a few days after the survey to discuss any questions or concerns I had. Jingling is an asset to this company. She was able to give me all the details and information I needed to make my final decision. Jingling eased my nerves, and assured me that Steve was going to do a good job. Steve found some urgent issues with the property we are purchasing. This at first threw me off, with worry and stress. But after serval communications with Steve, I was put at easy and am very aware of how we will get things rectified. If I had to do another survey, I would happily go back to Steve and Jingling at Palmer Lim Chartered Surveyors.

Quick response and smooth communication in the whole process. Report on time. The explanation of report is clear and accurate. As a house buyer, we are happy to know any defect or issue to be fixed by priority. Steve advised us with fruitful and sensible comments.

Very communicative and quick responses to all of my queries before the survey and I received the report promptly after the survey had been completed. Having a call to talk through the contents of the report was really helpful and Steve was very patient explaining all the bits I didn't quite get. I would definitely recommend Palmer Lim and would use them again in the future.

Highly recommend: while the previous surveyor we used for our first home purchase did little more than tick boxes, this surveyor was exhaustive. The survey went into an exceptional level of detail, and the surveyor offered to have a zoom meeting with us afterwards to follow up with any questions. The turnaround was very quick and the price extremely competitive. We will be using their expertise again in future, when we (hopefully) look into refurbishing the loft of the property we are purchasing.

I contacted Palmer Lim last minute during the house buying process for a survey. They booked an appointment in within a week, attended on time with no delays. They then provided me a detailed report within 2 days of visiting the site. They offered to go through any questions I might have and kept me updated throughout the process. I would recommend Palmer Lim to everybody and will use them again in the future whenever I need to move. Fantastic customer service.

Palmer Lim are excellent Surveyors!!! The whole surveying process ran smoothly and efficiently from start to finish. I found them to be very thorough, and helpful, and were always happy to answer an queries that I had. They seemed to work around the clock to get the job done in record time. I also found them to be the most cost effective on the market. Highly recommended.

Both Steve and Jinling have been extremely helpful. From day one, Jinling made sure all the documentation was available for either signature or review, took all my calls and made sure I understood what the process was and what to expect moving forward. Jinling's kindness was extremely comforting especially when having to deal with complex matters I have no expertise on. Upon survey completion, Steve produced the report in the quickest timeframe (2 days if I am correct) even if the given SLA was 5 days! The report was detail oriented, the quality of its contents and the patience Steve had after having to rearrange our post survey discussion several timess (due to changing work commitments at my end!) are a few examples of professionalism at its best! If you are interested in finding a chartered surveyor in the Redhill, Surrey area, I would totally recommend Palmer Lim Ltd!

Steve’s report was really thorough. He was also really helpful at explaining what issues there were with the house and he took the time to talk us through them. He also suggested we could contact him in the future should we need advice on work the house needs.

We needed a surveyor to carry out a full buildings survey for us following an issue raised during our proposed house purchase by our solicitor. I remembered seeing a recommendation on Facebook of a local surveyor and rang Palmer Lim Surveyors to ask their advice. From the first call we felt confident with their expertise and knowledge. A survey was booked within the week and Steve Palmer took time to email/speak to us on the phone before preparing the survey report to explain any urgent findings and to make sure we understood the findings. The full report followed with Steve offering to do a Teams meeting if we needed to discuss the report or didn't understand anything in the report. The instructions for him to act on our behalf and the payment was all sorted out easily online by following a sent link to confirm our instructions. Highly recommend this professional, friendly, helpful company. We wouldn't hesitate to use again. Thank you!

Our structural survey was conducted 2 weeks after we instructed them. I think this could have been shorter but I think there was only Steve doing all the surveys at the time. The report was written remarkably quickly but unfortunately the email requesting payment went to our junk mail so I didn't spot it. When I emailed to ask when the report would be ready I received an email from Steve asking for payment before he would send it. So after I paid I had to chase again to ask if they has received it and I didn't get the report until 24 hors after payment. Small company but quite speedy overall in this pandemic. Just a lot of chasing around.

Steve Palmer was available when I called, willing to discuss my concerns and answer my questions, and flexible in his scheduling. His written survey seems thorough, and appears to reflect a broad range of knowledge and expertise. It was also delivered promptly. His fee was fair and reasonable. I recommend Steve and Palmer Lim.

Steve has been exceptionally professional and knowledgeable. He had answered all my questions promptly and effectively. Due to the lack of English language understanding, he even to find someone who speak the same language to help us to understand better which it took an hour during the weekend.
