I have always struggled with my weight and remember calorie counting and going to weight watchers from the age of 13 wth my mother. I was never hugely obese- maybe 2 stone overweight but because I'm only 5 foot 2 it shows. So decades of yo-yo dieting I'd tried them all- Atkins, slimming world, Dukan, cabbage soup, Cambridge and Lighterlife Life to name a few. They all worked but the weight came back and more as it always does. Prolongevity is a completely different approach- no calorie counting, no regimented programme. You just learn which foods to avoid using the CGM and tweak what you eat. For instance, I learnt that skimmed milk and sourdough wholemeal bread gave me high spikes of sugar, but semi skimmed/whole milk and certain types of bread didn't. I cut out those 'spiky'foods and the weight came off and I felt generally better, had more energy, better concentration, improved sleep and lost my sweet cravings and addiction to diet Coke. Although I wasn't on blood pressure medications or statins I would be heading that way as I have a strong family history of cardiovascular disease strokes and heart problems. Interestingly my psoriasis went too.Prolongevity is the future for bespoke nutritional and metabolic advice. No longer can you give generic advice to everyone- it has to be personalised. Graham has a wealth of knowledge and can also arrange microbiome analysis, sleep monitoring and exercise/ rehabilitation.

A very interesting experience. I learned much about diet, nutrition, exercise and well being; the process - device, apps, consultation - was easy to engage with, and the advice was sound. I lost weight, and felt better.

I used to work for years in the Wellness sector and thought I knew it all about healthy living. When I met ProLongevity, I knew I was a little overweight but felt I had no real issues. I followed all the NHS advice, had my NHS and life-assurance medical, and just about passed as healthy. Through this program, I discovered this was far from the truth. In fact, as part of the assessment, they found serious Hypertension, and pre-diabetes and asked me to see my GP. My GP would not even take my BP and threw me back on the streets and would not take the advice given from Graham seriously as in his view it was so unconventional - even though Graham Phillips was himself an award winner and part of the NHS. I eventually got seen by a doctor in an emergency center and he immediately admitted me to a cardio ward as he could see I was on the verge of either my first stroke or a heart attack. They battled with drugs for 2 days to help me recover. The scary thing is I didn't feel ill. I was told I would be on BP drugs for the rest of my life. It took only 12 weeks for ProLongevity to get me of BP drugs and reduce my BP to that of an average 35-year-old and get my weight down to a safe level. Everyone says I look healthier, I now cycle 50 miles a week, no longer the follow the crap diet created in partnership with the processed food industry and NHS, sleep better and a long list of 'ailments' such as fungal infections, pre-diabetes, tinnitus have virtually gone and my immune system has become super strong.

Although I am not diabetic, I have struggled with my weight throughout my adult life, and with other members of the family having been diabetic I really wanted to get my weight under control and keep it there. Previous attempts with Michael Moseley's low calorie diets got good results, but came to an end and I put all the weight back on almost immediately. My wife had et Graham and his ideas sounded good, so I thought I would try his ideas out. After our initial discussion I found the CGM data invaluable - a meal of fish and chips a few days after first fitting one pushed my blood sugar up to over 13, and I rapidly found that not easting carbs kept it where it should be, between 4 and 6. In the early stages of using Prolongevity I learned that I could keep carbs down, and the weight fled - at best I was 3.5 stone below where I started, with my BMI in the normal range for the first time in decades. I have slipped back from time to time, but never to where I was, and I have totally abandoned bread, potatoes, cakes, rice and pasta - which I never thought was possible. When my wieght goes up I know why, and the steps I need to take to get it back down again. I have found it amazing how well I can keep going without food now - at age 67 I did the Ride London 100, and from waking up to getting home I ate a tub of yoghurt, two 40h bags of nuts and two 50g blocks of cheese. I cycled well over 100 miles that day, but wasn't even slightly hungry at the end of it. I'm sure I'm not one of Graham's perfect patients - but what he taught me has kept my weight well down, and at 70 I am fit, active, walking, cycling and doing high-intensity strength training, and still doing stairs two at a time. I'm most grateful for what Graham has taught me, and how it is a sustainable way of living and being active as I enter retirement.

Remarkable results I have been a client of Prolongevity for nearly a year now. However, my excellent results were apparent after only a few months. My main objective was to reduce my hba1c figures through diet and lifestyle. In only three months I got them down from 8.6 to 5.9 and have stayed there or just below. While 5.9 is the figure for a non-diabetic, I do still use insulin. However I now need less than a third of my previous dosage prescribed nearly 20 years ago and my GP is so pleased with my progress that she has experimentally taken me off Metformin (which gave unwelcome side effects) ahead of reviewing my next hba1c blood test figures. Pioneering diabetic researchers at Newcastle University have enabled some (mainly more recently-diagnosed) patients to dispense with insulin altogether, but I feel that knowledge of their research on diet and lifestyle in itself may not be enough. The ongoing individual examination, guidance and friendly encouragement provided by Prolongevity, not least via my fortnightly Zoom reviews, have been invaluable for me and have kept me on track. I thoroughly recommend the service. Sorry if this review is getting a bit long, but I would like to add that my non-diabetic wife has been very happy to share my low-carb diet. This is not only because she enjoys the food and does not have to do extra cooking. It is also because she knows that recent research shows that high sugar/carb diets can adversely effect dementia, which unhappily is part of her family history.
