Krishna is the Asset! I traveled to India to complete my 200 hour training and Krishna was my teacher. What an amazing teacher he is and a person individual, always gives the details from minor to major side of Yoga. As a yoga instructor & teacher of 200 hr YTT's, I am greatful for Krishna that he became my teacher. His knowledge towards spirituality, yoga and physical anatomy is really well and the kindness he posses, most importantly dedication to his practice and teachings helped me grow as a teacher. God bless Krishna. With Love.
I completed a 100-hour Kundalini Yoga teacher trainings course in October 2019. My teachers, Sanjai and Pralad were both masters in their subjects. Not only did they provide their knowledge comprehensively and excellently, they went also through individual questions very well. It was the case in all my classes (anatomy, Kundalini and Vinyasa yoga and philosophy lessons). Moreover, we also made yoga on the beach of the river Ganges, which was just amazing. I learned also a lot about breathing (Pranayama) as well as relaxation (Prathayara) technologies. Definitely the right thing for me. :) Yogalaya Rishikesh school is a school from heard. I definitely recommend it to everybody who is interessted in getting very good knoledge about yoga and learning many asanas. I thank the whole team for being so good.
My Yoga journey at Samatva Yogalaya was from January to February 2019, my first 200h but not last ;) When searching for the right school for me I was looking for good and professional teachers, small groups of people, my own accommodation with bathroom, good food, and feeling like a member of a family. At some point, I was sure that it will be impossible to find a school that has all these qualities and if I don't lower my criteria I'll stay at home ;) But I was wrong, Samatva was the school with all these qualities, Sangeeta and Krisha, except being a wonderful person, high-quality teachers, they have a natural capacity of explaining the things with examples to understand in a better and simple way especially in anatomy and philosophy. The yoga practice from both of them gives me the opportunity to go much further in my own practice and that was an important point for me. The rest of their crew is equally professional in their domain as Sangeeta and Krishna are. If you have any kind of problem or difficulties Ashu will help you in everything with a smile, he will be responsible for the union of the group after dinner with fire and nice music, Sunday activities and you will have a feeling that you have a brother beside. Deepak is responsible for the kitchen and I'm still dreaming about his wonderful dishes. You can really feel the love he put inside the food and if you have some food problems he will consider it, make some exchanges for you so you can enjoy the food with the rest of the group. Rama is an excellent assistant of Deepak during cooking but also he is responsible for bringing various Tee during the day. Rina is a wonderful lady who is responsible to maintain clean the Ashram and if you want your room and clothes. On your way in Samatva probably you will meet Middha, a beautiful soul, the daughter of Krishna and Sangeeta. These people are part of my tribe now and I'm so grateful to have found them and really hope to meet them again, on my next teacher training. Love you all!!! Verna, Croatia
I followed the 300 hour training from November to December at Samatva Yogalaya. It has enriched me in so many aspects. Krishna and Sangeeta welcome you in their family. They are very warm personalities. You quickly feel at home in the ashram. In addition, they are both sincere Yogis. They practice the yogic lifestyle genuinely. No false pretensions. Both Krishna and Sangeeta are excellent teachers. They have an enormous treasure of knowledge that they share with you. They are approachable, are open to all questions that might arise in you and they always know a way when your body encounters an obstacle in asanas. “You get what you deserve” Krishna always says. I am so lucky we deserved each other. For me these weeks were sometimes confronting, but always positive and safe. I have learned so much! Thank you, Krishna and Sangeeta for your unwavering commitment, your energy, love and knowledge. I cherish the time with you. We'll keep in touch!
The experience I had at Samatva Yogalaya was none other than life-changing. I completed the 500 hour Teacher Training with Krishnaji and Sangeeta Sikhwal, May-July 2018. As practitioners themselves, they teach from experience. Krishnaji’s philosophy and anatomy & physiology classes give the opportunity to grasp deep concepts in a practical way that assists in one’s journey towards self-awareness and self-mastery. Learning about one’s spiritual journey in a “classroom” setting, and its firm roots in science and scientific techniques, both modern and ancient, blew my mind on a daily basis. The Asana practice is deliberate and challenging. You learn how to progress your self-practice in a safe and consistent way, so that you can continue far after leaving the school. Practicing various forms of pranayama, various forms for meditation, the kriyas, Yoga Nidra, and much more, you get the full spectrum of Hatha Yoga, again taught by practitioners. Every meal is prepared fresh by a local chef, and is AMAZING. At Samatva, you are apart of the family. They truly care about you and your growth. Samatva Yogalaya will be forever a home of mine. I plan to return.
I had the best experience at Samatva Yogalaya with those amazing teachers Krishna and Sangeeta! I arrived there to do the 200hours and being sure I would never teach. I just wanted to improve my own practice and reconnect with my inner self. I ended up staying almost 3 months, doing the 500hours in 1 go and being all excited about teaching what I've learned. It's a real family atmosphere, the philosophy classes are amazing , the food is great, the location is perfectly isolated in the trees but close to the cafes and shops, the rooms are big and comfortable, the teachers are very talented and invested, ... I am looking forward to going back and meet again with my indian family. Thank you for everything Krishna and Sangeeta. You brought me a lot of love and taught me a lot.
I feel beyond lucky that among all of the yoga schools in the world, I ended up at Samatva Yogalaya. Everything was perfect and with certainty I would recommend this school to anyone wanting to transform their practice and their overall life. I practiced yoga asana for a long time but have never even realized how many asanas I was doing with improper alignment. Krishna and Sangeeta are experts and are true, authentic yoga practioners and will teach you what they practice. They live yoga and encompass yoga in their everyday life. This shines through on and off the mat. Their teaching approaches are different, yet they both know exactly what you and your body need and will do classes in such a way that Not only will you improve, but you will be able to feel your body and your needs in a way you weren’t aware of before. Everything they do is from the heart, with pure love and they sincerely care about you and your growth. With teachers like those, every class is an opportunity to learn. I was exposed to new pranayama, meditations and of course the kriya methods, all of which made me into a more rounded yoga practioner and person. Krishna teaches philosophy and anatomy with so much grace, interest, charisma and KNOWLEDGE! I still wonder if there is anything he does not know. Yet both him and Sangeeta are so humble and kind and I am one family richer. Next, the food. Some of the most beautiful dishes I have ever tasted! The food is hearty, healthy, abundant and prepared with love. It is impossible not to enjoy and be completely satisfied. The whole staff is a joy to be around and you will feel a part of the family from day 1. There is nothing the team wouldn’t do for you to make you feel more comfortable. The rooms are clean, cute and comfortable allowing you to relax completely on your free time. Oh and the location! The most ideal location in Rishikesh. It’s close to town but just the right amount away that you will not hear any car and street noise and will be surrounded by lush green trees and birds. The trainings are small and intimate and now I wouldn’t have it any other way. With such small groups, you will for sure be corrected on a daily basis giving you so much opportunity to improve. I was initially signed up only for the 200 hour training but thrived so much that I stayed and completed my full 500. I can’t wait to go back! I miss it every single day! There is not a single thing I would change.
It’s been a month since I finished a life-changing 200-hour yoga teacher training at Samatva Yogalaya, so I’ve had some time to integrate the experience into my “real life.” I am so grateful to Krishna, all the staff and the other participants. It’s actually hard for me to find the words to express how much the experience meant to me and how it keeps unfolding for me. Since the training ended, I’ve been teaching small yoga/meditation sessions once a week in order to keep on developing as a teacher. That’s how empowering a program it is. I went to Samatva Yogalaya to deepen my asana practice and explore the possibility of becoming a yoga teacher, but what I found was much more profound: inner strength, contentment and peace--and I didn’t know that I’d been looking for those things exactly. But the dincharya (daily routine) was so grounding--up at 6 a.m., herbal tea, neti pot, pranayama, asana, breakfast, yoga philosophy, self study of yoga scriptures, lunch, anatomy/physiology, more asana, dinner, meditation, lights out at 9. It was REALLY good for my soul. It actually made me into a morning person. And since the program has ended, I have continued independently with much of what I learned. The yogic routine has built me a strong foundation for emotional stability, mental clarity and personal power/vision/creativity. Also, I learned SO much--from each of the different classes. Krishna is among the best asana teachers I’ve had the pleasure to learn from (and I’ve been taking yoga classes off and on for over 15 years.) He is super knowledgeable and knows exactly how to adjust students in each pose to let you get maximum benefit. Plus, small class sizes meant that each student got a lot of attention and correction. I also learned an incredible amount from the classroom sessions and from reading yoga scriptures, as well as from the experiences of researching and giving a presentation (I chose the topic of ayurveda), as well as teaching an asana class in the final week. What else? The pranayama was powerful--a beautiful way to greet the day, wake up and energize. And I swear my complexion glows now from daily kapalbhati. The chanting was charming. I still chant every day, and now I’m so interested in Sanskrit. The food was hygienic (not something that you should take for granted in India) and really yummy and varied. We got fresh fruit and salad every day, as well as many mouth-watering dishes seasoned with fresh herbs. (I’m vegan and they always made sure to tell me if a dish had dairy in it and provide a dairy-free option, which was so considerate.) The bonding with the other students was unforgettable. But most of all, Krishna and his wife Sangeeta are true practitioners of yoga. They emphasize that yoga is not just something that is done on a mat. Rather, it is a 24-hour-a-day lifestyle. And their words are not hollow. They live it. The humility and authenticity that they display had a powerful effect on me. They inspired me to want to practice as well as I could, learn as much as possible, and keep on living it even after the program ended. Plus, they welcomed us like family. I felt their care and respect and returned it. It was indeed a very special environment to get to live in for one month. I really hope to be able to return to do the 300-hour with them… I found this program because, luckily for me, a friend had gone through it and recommended it. I was really glad because I found it hard to find an actual, good school in India just by looking online. A lot of other schools’ reviews looked fake; there are a lot of schools that have sprung up to cash in on the yoga trend and make money without offering authentic, high-quality training. I am so very glad to have found Samatva Yogalaya. The experience was so wonderful. It was just what I needed. I would recommend the program to anyone—those who want to deepen their practice, start teaching or deepen their teaching. Namaste. <3
I had the privilege to study with Krishna at Yogpeeth for my 300RYT. Krishna is the most beautiful being I have ever met! He naturally makes to you want to be a better person and strive to achieve more as a being on so many levels. I hope I one day have to means to travel back to amazing, magical Rishikesh, India and experience the school Krishna has created. Thank you Krishna my friend!
Krishna is the real deal! I traveled to India to complete my 300 hour training and Krishna was my teacher. Words will never be enough to express my deepest gratitude for his teachings. As a yoga studio owner and teacher of 200 hr YTT's, I am VERY grateful that Krishna became my teacher. His knowledge, kindness and most importantly dedication to his practice and teachings helped me grow as a practitioner and a teacher. Much love Krishna, Namasté, Kathy
My experience with Krishna and Sangita at Samatva Yogalaya was life changing. I have been a spiritual aspirant for a few years now and I was given tools by Krishna that I will use and continue to cultivate throughout the course of my entire life. Living in America, I am very aware of the lack of understanding in the yoga industry of what yoga truly is, which is: the restraint of the modifications of the mind stuff. Krishna taught us so much more than asana, he taught us how to live a spiritual life, a yogic life and how to authentically share this life with others. After spending three months with Krishna and completing my 500 hour teacher training, I am a changed person. I have been home for three weeks now and have continued the practices of asana, shat kriyas, yoga philosophy, and pranayama as taught by Krishna. I am so infinitely grateful that I was guided to this teacher training. I have not one regret. The accommodations were absolutely gorgeous and created a very safe and peaceful environment for growth, the food was healthy, pure and sattvic and the class size was small which in my opinion is best for optimal learning. When you join this teacher training, you are more than just a student, you are family. Krishna is a true yogi and an embodiment of knowledge, wisdom and purity. AUM.
highly recommend to anyone who looking for a yoga school . i had attend 300 hrs teacher training. krishna is really good. learnt a lot from there such a great experience.
Krishna is an excellent teacher. If you want a course filled with excellent knowledge on the 8 limbs of yoga and the Bhagavd Gita then this is the course for you. Delivered with just the right balance of discipline and humour I learned a great deal during my six week 300 hour course.
