This is a real review. Ordered 4 books Part of a buy3 get one free. Received books and one of the books wasn't the ones I ordered. Which, I am understanding of, mistakes happen. But for several days now, I have not gotten a response back after I've inquired about this matter. No response, nothing. That...is unacceptable.

I accidently purchased the wrong book. I requested it to be cancelled on the same day I placed the order. Actually, within the same hour. I requested on the order page AND sent a separate email to support through the customer portal. The only response I received was the next day and it simply said, "Order has been processed". I immediately replied to that email requesting clarification and if a refund has been processed. I never got a reply back but I did receive a "Customer Satisfaction" email that day as if the ticket had been closed. The following day I replied to the email again requesting confirmation that the order has been cancelled and a refund issued. No reply. A couple days later, I put in another message through the customer portal about this issue. No reply. And then two days after that, I received an email saying the order has been shipped. A couple days after that, I receive another Customer Satisfaction email. And now, days later, here I am with still no reply, no refund, and supposedly a book I don't want on the way :(

I ordered a book through Abesbooks which shipped from SecondSale. The moment I ordered, I noticed I ordered a hardback instead of soft back. I immediately contacted SecondSale to cancel that order and refund the charge. They said they would. Never happened. I contacted them again a couple weeks later and they said they would re-refund the charge. Now, over a month later, nothing. I contacted Abe's and, through their site, again requested a refund. No response at all. So, if you order something and you change your mind, do not expect any refund for you. Therefore, I can say, no customer service. Be sure of your order because there is no chance of a refund, in my experience. Be ware!

This seller constantly lies to the customers. They say that the books they sell are good, but is not true. They sell books that are uselessly.

On October 14, 2024 I contacted SecondSale telling them I had received 2 novels instead of two copies of a particular book I had ordered. I wrote asking how this could be fixed, I wanted the 2 I had ordered and I needed to get the wrong books back to them. On the 15th they emailed saying, "If you would like to keep the item - please reply indicating you would like a 20% credit back to your original form of payment due to not meeting expectations. OR if you would like to return the item, for a full refund, please let us know." I emailed back, "I want a refund so I can buy the 2 books I originally ordered of Carmen Renee Berry’s. I don’t read novels. So, how do I get these 2 books back to you? And, do you not have her Loving Yourself as Your Neighbor?" I emailed again on the 22nd AND the 29th. No response back. So, I'm stuck with books I don't want and have been beat out of the money I paid for books I didn't get. BUYER BEWARE OF DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AND... SPREAD THE WORD!

Wish I had a more positive review, but in the recent 'buy 3 get one free' sale three of the four books I ordered were out of stock - I received notification several days AFTER I received a shipping notice. Weird timing no doubt due to the holidays.

I placed an order during their buy 3 get 1 free sale. I received 3 of the 4 books. The 3 I received were sent in a timely manner. I emailed 3 different times over a 2 to 3 week period and have yet to receive a response. I would prefer to have the book but would have taken money back but I have neither. I will not be using nor recommending them unfortunately.

Very poor customer service. I messaged three times regarding a missing book that was not included with the three other books I ordered at the same time, no response and out the book and the money. Other orders included books described as very good or good that are not even in acceptable condition. I believe they pull any book off their shelf and not the copy condition that was ordered. I will NEVER purchase another book from this company.

This is the second time I have purchased a book from Second Sale in Montgomery, IL that was not as described. Both times the books were listed as "Very Good" and at best they are "Acceptable". My bad for the second time, but I won't be making the same mistake again.

Received a soft cover book that fell apart from the spine - Handmade Christmas: The Best of Martha Stewart Living - Paperback. And this book was labeled as Very Good. Very misleading and I now have a useless book in 3 sections detached from the spine. Very disappointed and will not be ordering any more books from this place.

I ordered a book but they sent me the wrong book. They wanted me to pay to return the book in order to get a full refund. They also offered to let me keep the book and they would give me a 20% credit back. After I said no and asked for them to send me a mailing return label or issue a full refund, they stopped responding. It's been a week and still no reply. Ridiculous! It was in no way my fault and yet they wanted me to pay for their mistake. Horrible customer service!

I ordered a book from AbeBooks from this seller. The book was supposed to be in very good condition. The book that I received was dilapidated and also did not match the image of the book that I ordered. After making a complaint, I was offered a 20% discount or that I might return it. 20% discount was not adequate for the amount of damage. Also, I did not wish to pay to have it shipped back to them.

These people are selling books that are old and worn out. Customer Service doesn't care if you're unhappy with your purchase, because they're already expecting you to be unhappy about it. They're in the business of selling garbage. If you try to get a refund for the garbage they send, they won't respond, and they'll block you from purchasing again.

I have ordered hundreds of books from this company. After placing an order, I sent three emails notifying that my address needed to be updated. I was assured they would issue a refund .Then they refused to reimburse me so that I could place another order. Save your money. I will never order again. Horrible customer service!

I had ordered from them before with no issues but this time, I didn't get all the books, some in very bad condition, I have tried to contact them 6 times with no response

I ordered two books on August 15th 2024. Today is November 4 2024. My books have still not shipped. I spoke to someone there over a month ago who said they would help but I haven't heard from them since and am getting no replies to my emails.

I would give 0 stars, but that is not an option. I ordered a book that was supposed to be in "Very Good" condition. When I received the book, it was not in very good condition. There was writing in the book, highlighting, and the cover was "well used." When I tried to contact customer service to return the book for a refund, no one contacted me to explain how returns worked or even where to mail the return. Now, I am stuck with a book that is not in "very good" condition. I will NOT order from them again.

Second sale has zero customer service. Their email for contact on the website does not work. There is no other way to contact them. They shipped my books to the wrong address and because you can't even contact them, I couldn't get my books.

I ordered four books from them. I only received three. I’ve contacted them three times through their websites messaging system. I tried to email them twice but their email kicked back with a message from Microsoft saying the domain does not exist. Do not buy from them. Very poor customer service (as in none). I first contacted them two weeks ago and twice more since then to no answer. Do not recommend this site. Steer clear of it.

My last 2 purchases were very disappointing. One book described as very good and it had multiple large dog ears. Dog ears ruin a book and the creases weaken the paper fibers. Am trying to get a refund and they are offering me 30% of what I paid.I am refusing the offer. 2nd book was sent and described as very good. The book was full of heavy whitish gray powdery mildew and brownish dust on the board of the book, top of book and dust jacket. It smells so bad that I put it in a plastic bag. I have had problems with second sale books before. After this is settled, I won't buy from this company again. Purchases were made around the 3rd week of this month.
