I received very good advice from the guys and the materials arrived on time and job was finished the next day. The result so far seems excellent.

Soundstop.co.uk gave me a solution to a problem I have been facing more than a year. Excellent customer service, they answered all my phone calls and emails as I DIY. I have chosen the independent stud wall with GenieClip and SBX boards. It was the most expensive solution but thank God I went for that. I can tell you without the SbX boards the solution would have failed. I know that because I installed half wall one day and the rest the other. Going behind SbX boards miraculously I couldn't hear the low frequency sound of the neighbours. I sacrificed around 13-14cm but now I can sleep. Tips: 1. Use the calculators to order. 2. Place the middle of metal bar at 120cm in a way that you can screw both down and up SbX board sharing half of the same metal bar. 3. Use a right angle tool to cut the timper properly. 4. Use Spirit level for the side vertical timber. 5. Check timber if they are straight. If not, most likely, when you place them vertically make sure timber's curve goes parallel with the wall. For ex. from left to right not in out. Otherwise the stud wall you are creating will have curves. 6. Measure and place vertical timber at 59-59.5 cm distance from each other. That way the sound stop wool which has width 60cm will be fixed very tight and won't be loose. 7. When you have finished with last level of plaster board and you want to fill the seams: when the filling material will dry, rub it very gently. Otherwise the seams will appear again and you will have to do it again. Buy a Plastering Trowel tool at least 15cm long that will help you.

We're building a garden music room and require a good soundproofing system. I have spoken with Jim on several occasions and his knowledge on the subject matter is very impressive, and he has assisted me tremendously with this project. I am due the first delivery of the kit today and Mikee went above and beyond to track my parcels and keep me up to date with this. Very impressed so far with this company. Once the soundproofing has been installed, I will update with another review.

Fantastic customer service. SoundStop were very helpful both before and after my purchase. They patiently answered all my questions when I was deciding what solution would be best for my ceiling. Then, when my builders had questions about installation, SoundStop provided outstanding support. We have yet to test the system as we are still mid-refurbishment, but I have every confidence it will make a big difference especially as we received so much advice re: correct installation. The website is also incredibly helpful. I particularly liked the area calculators that helped me quickly work out how much each system would cost in my rooms.

As much as I would like to recommend a UK business during these difficult times, I'm afraid I simply cannot do so in the case of SoundStop. Ordered and paid for a tile in a particular colour, only to be called some time later to be told it was unavailable. Disappointing, but not a deal breaker, so I ordered a different colour. Agreed delivery on a specific day, arranged and paid for a gang of men to attend the delivery, but the tiles did not arrive. When calling the courier company, they confirmed that the retailer (SoundStop) had made an error when agreeing to the delivery date arranged, hence no tiles! Rearranged for delivery the next day (day 2). To cut a long story short, the tiles finally arrived at the FOURTH time of asking, on day 3! To reiterate, it was only on the fourth agreed delivery time, on the third day, that the tiles arrived. In the meantime, I had arranged and paid for a gang of men to sit around for the best part of 3 days waiting for a delivery of tiles! Whilst I accept that the second and third failed deliveries were caused by the courier company, I also felt that the level of customer support offered by SoundStop was severely lacking. They were the retailer, therefore I would have expected them to resolve the issues with the courier company which they had chosen to use. Unfortunately this was not the case and I was the one who spent the time trying to resolve this delivery issue. A few days later I contacted SoundStop detailing the problems in an email (as requested by them) and confirmed that the situation had cost me time, money and more than a little frustration. They were very apologetic, confirming that the issue would be looked at, had been passed on to the area manager etc. etc. Five days later I had still heard nothing, so sent another email asking for an update. Once again they were very apologetic, confirming that the issue was being looked at, had been passed on to the area manager, the manager was being chased etc. etc. This was 6 weeks ago. Not unsurprisingly I have heard absolutely nothing since! I do not now expect to receive any further communication or goodwill gesture on the part of SoundStop. Whilst I am trying to do everything possible to support UK businesses at this time, when a number of neighbours asked if I would recommend Soundstop as they were also thinking of sourcing soundproofing tiles, my answer was a categorical "absolutely not".

I ordered 40sqm of Absorbalay and was told it would be delivered on Friday 28 August. It didn't arrive. I called in the morning on Friday to express my worry that it's already noon and that I'm still waiting for it. I was told by a lady not to worry that it will arrive before 5 pm. I'm hugely disappointed as my fitter is planning to fit the absorbalay on Monday 31 August and this will push the project back and I will have to pay him for the loss of working hours, which I hope Sound Stop will compensate me. Rang day before delivery was due to say system fault meant I had to pay an extra £83 delivery charge on top of existing £50 fee. It blamed a "systems error" and "extra costs to supplier" but didn't explain why it had taken so long before they had noticed the error. Had people standing by to unload and lay material, who still have to be paid. Cancelled and now awaiting refund.

52m2 of acoustic underlay delivered. Easy to order and fast delivery, just as promised. Delivery driver very helpful. 11 rolls of underlay reassuringly heavy!

Made no difference at all, and it wasn’t that bad to start with, just television noise from next door. Spent a small fortune buying and paying for fitting. Extremely disappointed
