Both my children have been attending Stagecoach Performing Arts since they were four years old. I have seen them flourish and thrive during that time, and it’s really shaped their character and enhanced the natural skills they already had. Its also built their confidence tremendously, which they continue to carry through to their day to day activities - in and outside of Stagecoach

Booked a trial and was told to wait next term as my son was too young to start. I appreciated it and waited building up the course to my little one, we were all quite excited about it. Unfortunately the trial was a horrible experience. The staff is not trained to deal with 4 years old. There was a main tutor who took my son away without even let me say goodbye, let alone stay around at least for his first lesson (1.30H long) with complete strangers. Anyway, my son was left crying for the whole time and was only told to make an happy face when they had to take a photo of him. When he asked to use the toilet he said he had to use it with open doors as he couldn’t reach the handle and nobody bothered to help. When they took him out he burst in tears, the tutor didn’t even care to come and spend a minute talking to us, they said dismissively “a few tears at first but then all good” and said goodbye. My son clearly told me that he had done nothing and was left crying for the whole time. I wanted to reach out via email and ask for more explanations and details but when the tutor only cared of asking for the next payment, 6 days prior the second-pre paid-trial day, I’ve decided just to cancel and inform them that my son wouldn’t continue. They didn’t even ask about the motivation or feedback.

Very bad experience! They forgot about my child’s achievement certificate, so everybody else had one on stage in front of a big audience. Very disappointing, they’ve stollen an important moment from us! Also, teachers only work with certain children, far not everyone gets a chance to perform on the stage. Each time it is the same few kids, everyone else is just given a random line and is being used as static support on the stage.

The teachers and staff are inexperienced and unprofessional, the structure is chaotic, the children's roles very uneven.

My granddaughter attended stagecoach Bury Lancashire for 6 years ( age 6-12) She put her heart & soul into every production ( her ability to use different accents & mimic people was amazing). In the auditions she asked Gill if she would possibly stand a chance of a certain role but …….. The same child got the star role in every production time & time again. When she asked why this is happening it’s a hard question to answer. Please give ( every child) a chance to shine ❤️ favouritism is never good.

In Greenwich with Chris Very unprofessional. Children did not gain acting/ singing/ dancing skills, did not gain confidence and did not have a lot of fun. The staff is inexperienced, the structure is chaotic, the children's roles very uneven.

My daughter was eager to join a holiday club focused on dance, theatre, and singing. After some research, we decided on Stage Coach’s holiday club in Basingstoke. Initially, my daughter was hesitant and considered joining another club with friends from her previous activities. However, by the third day, she had made new, supportive friends and felt more welcomed. On the final day, as I watched the show, I was amazed at the transformation in my daughter. She confidently performed cartwheels and splits she had been practicing at home. The performance showcased an impressive range of dances, songs, and lines delivered by children of various ages. The entire show was flawless and energetic, with the children clearly engaged and proud of their work. The studio was filled with parents and children, all sharing in a truly beautiful moment. Stage Coach QMC Basingstoke offers a holiday club experience like no other, creating lasting memories for the participants. I must commend the educators and technical team for their dedication and passion, which not only nurtured the children’s skills but also brought the stories and emotions to life on stage.

Second time doing a summer school in Nantwich and same thing happened. One line only and £160 for the privilege. Wouldn’t mind if it was free but I’m paying for my daughter to have an experience. They get too many kids so they can make more money. So disappointed.

I can tell you that both of my children went through Stagecoach at Haywards Heath. In fact, we're probably one of the longest attending families that this stagecoach has had at nearly 12 years. When we first started attending all that time ago, the school was much smaller and wonderful. The franchise manager / owners would come out, greet the parents and the kids. It was friendly, there were no issues. Kids were treated a lot more fairly, especially relating to parts and lines. Then over the years as our second child joined, the school grew much larger. A 'second' school and an extra day emerged and I think that was the point it all turned into a shambolic, chaotic mess. Personal care and attention was out the window completely. The atmosphere became obnoxious and toxic. Parents formed little cliques. It became unfriendly and bland. It just lost its way. Fairness amongst parts and lines also disappeared. It was this point I raised with the owner who runs it. In a friendly way, I made it known that term after term, year after year, our children got one quick line to say at the 'demo' production (quite a big affair once a term at the end where the parents come to see what the kids have done that term). In fact I can tell you that in ALL 12 years at this stagecoach, neither of our children had any significant part given to them. This wouldn't be so bad, but for the fact the same children time and time again always got the leading parts or roles. I tried to remind her that this is a *school* and all children should be given some equal opportunities to shine instead of using the same children over again as would happen in professional productions. If they *never* experience that responsibility, how will they ever know what it feels like? Great thought, time and sensitivity was put into my friendly email. Afterall, we'd known these people for a long time. I was shocked after it was taken very personally and met with rebuke, dismay, disappointment and sheer refusal to admit to any favouritism or preferential treatment. Despite this, the following term she was overheard more recently responding to a woman whose child attended, thanking her for giving her child the leading role *again* - To which the owner replied, "Well, she is the best." !!!!!! This is not why we send our children to stagecoach. This is NOT some general competition to outshine other children to always take centre stage. It's meant to be a **school** and to offer as many children as possible an opportunity to shine, if only once. As a result, my 10 year old has returned home miserable several times. "I never get more than one line," she complains. (And this is in the term AFTER I sent that previous email) - (It did remind me of the same complaint my son had years before and he quit because of it too). So you might be thinking at this point, "Well, maybe their kids are pretty talentless and couldn't be given anything more than a line!" I'd be happy to admit to that if it were the case, but both children have had professional agents and appeared in adverts, some TV work and my son had his own YouTube channel with 50,000 subscribers. My daughter makes her own TikTok videos, some of which are very clever and entertaining. The talent is there, but sadly, just never given the chance to shine at Stagecoach. So that's it. We're cutting her time there. They've had 12 years of our money and all I can say is, I wish we had stopped her going years ago. If your child has a talent, I would recommend getting her a personal teacher to do a LAMDA course, or enrol them in a local youth amateur dramatics society. Unless you get really lucky, Stagecoach is not the right environment for them. From looking at some other comments here, it seems this is a common thread that runs through most of them and for that reason, Stagecoach gets one star... And that's after 12 years experience with them. Don't bother putting your child through all that unless they're loud or you're "in" with the owner. Be warned that disappointment lies ahead.

My daughter has been attending Stagecoach in Didcot for almost a year and it is the best part of her week. When I collect her she is overflowing with the wonderful things she has been doing and wants to tell me. The teachers are all brilliant and Principal Tara puts so much thought and energy into the school. Thank you to all of the staff for giving my daughter such a fabulous end to her week!
