Initial contact from Auckland was with Tom. He then referred me to Jack. I was looking at a Peugeot 508 Allure. Jack was very helpful and informative. He was prompt in providing paperwork for sale of the vehicle and organised transport to Christchurch. He informed me as soon as the car arrived. I arrived at the SsangYong dealership in Christchurch the next morning, and this is where the magic happened !!! The car was in immaculate condition thanks to the Auckland team. But it was the Chch team who surprised me. Here in the middle of the showroom standing on a Marble Plinth draped in a black robe sporting a very large blue bow, was my second hand car. Daniel, in his PINK shirt invited me to remove the drape and proceeded to show me the best of the car. We had a fun and laughter filled half hour or so as the other sales people tried to guess how to open the boot. This team team didn't even sell me the car but they sent me on my way so incredibly delighted with the whole experience. Many thanks to all involved especially Daniel and Jack - Yvonne

Very Poor Bought ssangyong rexton 2018 on August 28 and the salesperson said the warranty is for 5 years. We had some warranty issues today, got a call from takanini ssangyong that my warranty expired in May this year. But it was not told to us when we bought the vehicle that the warranty had already started when car was registered. We got the door seal rubber torn, chrome film coming of the window buttons. These things should not be even happening until the car is at least 15 years old and I only had it for 4 and half years now. All mag have been changed 2 years ago because on same issue. People review is very honest when they say takanini ssangyong sales person are very good only till they sell the vehicle, but after sales service is crap. I wouldn't recommend ssangyong to anyone especially Takanini ssangyong. And pretty sure we will not hold to this ssangyong rexton for long.
I have my biggest mistake of buying a Korando from Ssangyong Takanini. During sale the staff were super super nice. Post sales, they are just pathetic. I purchased a Korando in Jan 2020. In 2022 there was humming sound coming inside my car. They gave me a date 2 months from reporting. I could not go as my daughter was unwell. Next they gave me another 2 month from then. Today my engine oil light and ignition light was in warning state ie orange. I on the way to office at 8:30am, I stopped by at Takanini Service and requested the service desk to have a tech to just look at it. The guy said, sorry our tech are booked and cannot help. I will book you at 10am. I told him i am driving to CBD for work. I will book you for Thursday. Are they really bothered about the car they have sold.? The service desk do not think and understand a customer. Pathetic. I am writing this. Will post another and record an experience ....i will go to their sales office and fake a purchase. You will see how nice they are while selling, Ssangyong..... I am extremely sorry to say your service dept is pathetic.

Working with Tom is a great way to buy a Ssangyong We have had 5 so far - just love the Diesel Korando. a. great suggestion Tom ( a new one maybe approaching!) Servicing is excellent and smart courtesy cars You couldn’t be better but perhaps the brand could ramp up advertising especially with so many zero interest deals around
I had the rudest accountant who could not even explain what I was asking for and stood over me and the other lady I was working with like she was the Queen. I have not wanted to come there ever since this experience. I still love the cars and have been treated well by everyone else.

No folloup customer service. No call to see how the car was going even though i returned it due to engine faults No second key available at time of purxhase and i had to chase it weeks later I have since traded it in for a mitsubishi I will not buy or recommend ssangyong veh

Jan 22,2025Initially bought my 2017 Actyon in for a check on it stalling problems. One week later popped by to find out about progress but no one was at the service desk and was ignored by the parts desk. Phoned again 3 days later to find out progress but no luck, still waiting for local parts to arrive. The following week tried phoning but just got put through to message service. Left a message to find out about any progress but no call back. Phoned again a day later to service booking and they put me through to service desk. Again no answer, left another message but again, no phone back. Might point out it's a work vehicle and desperately needed. Just abit of but service wouldn't go amiss considering the answer phone message states Ssang Yong pride themselves on next level service. So far it's been in the shop 2 and a half weeks and looks like I may have to go in, in person to find out what's happening. Good news is, I'm selling it and won't have to go back to Ssang Yong Takanini again.
