I bought 5 skirting boards and some other small things, the boards have a good price, the delivery (Waterford) may be a little bit expensive when you don't buy a lot, but overall it is a very good price. What made me write this review was when they sent me an email because they were out of stock of the skirting boards and offered me an alternative with a more expensive one keeping the other board's price and the delivery was here just the next day in the morning. They look nice, they are not too bent, warped (they are 5m long), or knoty.
Was looking to buy a bale of concrete blocks, but every site online was charging way too much for delivery in my area. Found this store and the postage was more than reasonable, as was the price of the block bought them online and every step of the way I was emailed so I'd know the status of my order. Got an email in the morning a few days later and the blocks arrive shortly after, very friendly delivery driver too. Will be back again whenever I seed supplies.
Excellent service in TJ O'Mahony, Limerick....efficient,helpful and pleasant staff. Particularly want to mention Gavin at the plumbing counter and the delivery driver who could do with an assistant for lifting heavy deliveries! Excellent customer service...well done!

We recently moved to Prosperous and went to TJ O'Mahony's on several occasions. Really enjoyed shopping there, the stuff is friendly and there's a good range of items. Sometimes they had very good offers on some things which were much more pricey in larger retail stores. We also like the café that's in the same building, we'd usually get lunch there. Would really recommend, it's probably the only place in town to have a nice sit down lunch break. Overall very good experience.
If you’re thinking of buying Trex composite decking from TJOMahony this summer save your money and sanity! I paid the first €4K in Ballymount for what I needed. When it arrived every board was bowed on both ends. I emailed to ask was it normal and got no reply, as I was leaving the next day on holidays our builder started to lay it. I had wooden decking down but it needed replacing (the sub frame didn’t) so we took up the old wooden decking and replaced it with the Trex decking in the same pattern we had. None of the ends would lie flat, you couldn’t walk across it as it was bowing up on every joint and my kids kept stubbing their toes. When I contacted the guys in O Mahonys they asked for pictures which I sent and then they sent someone out to look at it. The guy took 3 possibly 4 measurements and agreed with me that it wasn’t right and then left. When they contacted me again they blamed the builder and said I should have gotten a “professional decking fitter” saying that the joist were too far apart (500 instead of 400) and he got this from 3 measurements! When I asked for someone else to come out to prove this wasn’t the case they refused. They also claimed we should have put in nailer boards,I explained we needn’t need them as each board had it own joist at either end but they didn’t seem to understand. They said the decking had to be taken back up and arranged with a “picture frame” around it and across the middle of my decking to cut the bow off the ends which meant a pattern I didn’t want. We took the decking back up again and put some more joists in (exactly what they told us to do) to make sure every one was under 400 and still they bowed. We asked for them to supply materials to fix it as the boards were at fault and needed to be cut a lot shorter to take the bow out but they refused saying the bow is part of the process when they are produced. In the end we had to put the picture frame in and cut 5 inches off every board to try and salvage what we had at the cost to us of another €1500. During the winter when it was cold the boards bowed again and the clips are not strong enough to hold it down so it just pulled them out of the joists. I still have some half boards left that I kept incase I needed them and even with a few feet cut off both ends they are bowed. Both the product and customer service level we received was extremely disappointing and we will never purchase from them again. ***Update after response*** Your very well articulated response has shown again that you were not willing to address the problem. My review was July 2022 and you respond in 2024 with “thanks for your patience” 🤣 my request at the time was for you guys to pay the €1500 it took to correct my issue but it was ignored then, and is still been ignored your reply. If you want “the opportunity to restore my faith in your products and services” you will reimburse me the €1500 it cost to correct the issue the substandard decking cost me. The date of experience was June 22 which is shown on the review, the branch was Ballymount but you would already know that from the “investigation” you claim your having in the “lapse of response to my initial inquiry”
Made an order Monday, was delivered on Wednesday. Realised Id made a mistake with items, contacted them and asked about return and re-order. Laura was great, really helpful and has sorted the issue today (Thurs) and advised I should have the correct product out by Friday. Note that I made the error, not them. Great company, have used loads of times and had no issues whatsoever.
Terrible service, it's been a week from placing an order, no feedback!!! on the phone they send you to look for a physical store manager who is constantly busy and works as a cashier, so he cannot answer! 10 days later, they simply issued a refund without notice! A waste of time! ref: 000024710
Inconsiderate and disrespectful I made a purchase on May 23 and still haven't received the order. This is not what makes me call them inconsiderate and disrespectful, but the sole fact that they do not give you any notice of what is going on, they say they will call, make you wait and they don't. They called me scheduling a very late delivery due today (June 08, 2021). They not only didn't deliver the order they, as usual, gave me no notice of why they didn't do it. I call the Prosperous store and they told me they would check what the story was and I was told they would update me in 5 minutes. Guess what? Yep! Nobody called me and when I call t he store in Prosperous nobody picks up the phone. This type of store deserves to go out of business.
Regarding the online shopping / home delivery: The items received did not match the items displayed online ( wrong items delivered). Thats no big problem as human errors do happen. The real problem is that for the last 3 weeks requesting either the correct items or a refund with no avail. Disappointing customer care.
