Dec 19,2024Booked a city break with my wife via travelzoo with a company called bestonlineholidays (don't touch them with a barge pole). Paid almost double the rate advertised due to non-availability of reasonable flights. My wife was taken into hospital 2 days before the departure. I asked for a name change so I could take my son. They wanted to charge £350 for the change which included £95 to inform the hotel??? and rebooked flights for my son (because they said it was cheaper to rebook rather than change which would have cost £400!!!). The return flight was 9 hours before my flight! Presumably they get extra commission for rebooking separate flights. I told them to forget it I would do it myself. They came back with "how much would you like to pay". It all sounded like I was negotiating with an Indian scam call centre. The trouble was the booker is the only one that can make the change online. I managed to contact easyjet who changed the name for £55. The wizz air chat bot wasn't as helpful so I had to rebook the flight but had I had access it would have cost me €60. Travelzoo are ok for UK based experiences in my experience but don't book anything with a flight.

Dec 19,2024I receive a weekly top 20 deals from Travelzoo. The offers for vouchers for individual hotels and mini breaks in the UK can be good value - you buy the voucher and then contact the hotel to book. However, their offerings for holidays abroad are appalling, my advice in not to bother. The prices are always "from" which, when you phone the company, has never been met in my experience. This has just happened again today (I never learn!):- a 3 day break to Dubrovnik from Manchester. The web site lists £249 for the date I was looking for. I checked the flights and hotel myself and the cost would have been the same. However, the deal included evening meal so it seems like an actual offer. When I phoned the price was £299 so it's no offer at all. Wasted my time

Dec 19,2024Although Travelzoo now charge for membership, it has not been a difficult decision to join as we have booked something through them every year. While many of the offers are publicly available, we don't have the time or the savvy to find them, so Travelzoo's recommendations have provided my family with some wonderful experiences.

Dec 19,2024I bought 2 vouchers to visit the British Car museum in Ambergate. The price was excellent and included a free hot drink. Everything went to plan and we both had a really good dsy out.

Dec 18,2024We received the warmest of welcomes from Alexander when we arrived at the Roseate . This small luxury hotel lived up to our expectations. Very comfortable with everything you could want . The staff are professional and very friendly. A central situation with public transport at the door . All made for a wonderful short break .

From booking it, to attending, to leaving, the overall experience was beyond my expectations and the hubby's. What a great bunch of people, what a way to learn to fly,and plenty of brownie points for me from hubby. He wants to go back and do the helicopter experience now. Thank you for an A1 day 👌

Dec 20,2024The WaySpa voucher is a scam. Contacted Support numerous times asking for a PDF of the voucher I purchased that contains instructions on how to redeem it. They say I redeemed it when I have not.
