My review will be the same as everyone else's here. Avoid this company at all costs. The problem is, they will fish you through an unsecured network to make you THINK you're speaking to your airline. They charged me nearly $3,000 on my visa to change a flight that I shouldn't have been charged for at all. Fortunately my credit card company is investigating and seems to believe I won't be held liable. How this criminal organization is still in business is astounding.
To be brief, all the scams, that other people have complained of are true. The exact same thing happened to me and I'm only putting in here so this is more evidence of their lying deceptive practices. I called them also thinking I was speaking directly to Delta. They never one state is if this was actually not a Delta Airlines and I got scammed out of $600. I spent an hour on the phone with them and a Visa representative at the same time I managed to get them to knock off half the cost. Stay away from these people they're total crooks sensually they charge me $600 to book 2 airplane tickets using travel credits.
Total scam. Deal ONLY with the airline directly.
Very deceptive. Got connected to them accidentally through Google when my passport didn’t match my boarding pass. Could have just gone in and fixed it at the airport but these guys took my reservation number and looked up the itinerary and said I needed to pay $750 down to $650 down to $550 to change an international same day flight. Called the airline directly and said they would never charge for that change. Called to get a refund and they said they already changed it and would give me a discount of $300. Told them they were criminals and they started a refund we shall see.
I did a Google search for United Airlines and the search gave me a number. I called and was told it was United. After going through all the details they said everything was done and the emails would arrive soon. Surprise the emails all came from Trip Chef. These people are lying frauds. They use phony links and apparently Google doesn't give a hoot. I did check with the real United and the fares and reservations seem to be OK. I just want these frauds put out business for being a bunch of lying frauds.
RUN RUN RUN RUN!!! In my quest to find United's phone number, I must have inadvertently selected this company...although I am very cognisant of travel agency/consolidated agency avoidment when online. Much like other reviewers, I was led to believe this gentlement was an agent on behalf of United. It wasnt until I received a docusign that I began to suspect their intent. Then looking at the phone number (and area code) I knew something wasnt right. Luckily before the call ended I was able to cancel everything (after blowing the rep up) but...as you can imagine....they dont issue refunds for 21-28 days. Scam #2.
Diversion scam. You think you are calling united, they answer the line as United and they lie the whole time through the process.
Same exact issue as this person: BRUCE HOLLAND ROGERS 2 reviews US Rated 1 out of 5 stars May 22, 2023 Well-designed scam. Run away! I'm writing this review while my travel companion is in the next room, trying to end the nightmare of having accidentally contacted TripChef to make some changes to her existing itinerary. Searching for a link to Delta, she followed a link that turned out to be TripChef, but which she thought was Delta. She didn't know that she wasn't talking to Delta as the agent gave her incorrect information about available flights and ultimately re-booked her on a flight that was $500 more than her original reservation, saying that the difference was to different cost of this other flight. Plausible. But this turned out to be a lie. When she began to have doubts after concluding the call because a second agent had come on the line to verify her card details, which seemed weird, she contacted Delta. The flight information my friend had been given by TripChef was wrong. The change my friend wanted was available at no charge. The $500 turned out to be a non-refundable agency fee from TripChef, a detail that not only hadn't been revealed by TripChef, but had been covered up with the lie that the higher total was due to the higher fare for the changed flight. Now my friend is getting a scammy run-around to try to prevent her from cancelling within 24 hours, saying she must speak with her original agent to cancel. This company appears to be getting link placement that allows them to trick people into contacting TripChef instead of the airline. TripChef manipulated and scammed my travel companion. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Preys on older people. Charges 400 dollars to book a flight that you can do yourself. The tickets were for the wrong date ---- then will charge you a change fee. This is a structured scam center.
This company is a total scam pretending to be a representative of Air Canada trying to charge over 3000 dollars for a flight change that is free from Air Canada stay away and make sure you are talking direct to your airline I notified the authorities about this
I will began this review with letting the readers know up front I am very very dissatisfied with TRIP CHEF. In late April, early May a group of my friend and my wife and I began making plans to travel from America to Vietnam. We locked in the dates then called delta airline book a flight number. The responder to the call was trip chef not Delta airlines. We asked for delta and the rep from trip chef advise he would be able to handle out travel plans and booking with no issues. Deciding to give them an opportunity We gave the dates we selected. There were three groups going all on the sane date and each group had a different return date. Since the flight was going to be more the 27 hours we wanted to upgrade to more comfortable seats so we went with business comfort. That did cost a little more but was nowhere as expensive as 1st class. When we finalize the booking all three groups were flying out of Jacksonville Florida going to Atlanta Georgia. From Atlanta Georgia we were taking another flight to Tokyo Japan. From Japan we were going to fly to Saigon Vietnam. The flights were suppose to be the exact same flight path home as they were going. We booked and paid for these flights 2.5 months in advance and all was good. A month after booking I got an email showing a change in flight plans. The 25 hour return flight changed to a 36 hour plan. Instead of flying from Tokyo Japan to Atlanta they were bouncing me and my wife to Minneapolis to Washington to Detroit to Atlanta to Jacksonville. I called them to see what was going on and while on the phone the rep. with trip chef attempted to change the flight two more times. He started out saying the original flight plan would not be available. After I refused his attempt to change the flights again to an even longer flight he offered me the original flight again that he advised would not be avaliable for $2500.00 per ticket. I refused to pay him more for a flight I already had booked. He ended up giving me a return flight with a 10 hour lay over in Japan departing from Saigon to Japan then to Detroit then to Atlanta and ending in Jacksonville. The day of the trip we were assigned economy seats so I am sure they stole the money we paid for more comfort. Like a fool After being this way I went online to read some reviews on "trip chef" only to find they had really bad reviews. Infact due to their mishandling of people's money and flight plans the better business bureau refused to give them a BBB accreditation. People if you read this stay away from trip chef because they are not a good company to deal with.
Beware:Fraudulent service. Do not use. Similar to other reviewers I misdialed (my error) and spent a long time on the phone with who I thought was United. After being asked for, and giving out, too much personal info - I hung up. Cancelled my credit card.
A complete and total scam. I was somehow connected to Trip Chef through a number I thought was United Airlines when I missed my flight and was hurriedly trying to reschedule. They told me to get me home they would have to put me on a different flight but there was a price difference. I agreed to the price difference because the proposed flight had only one layover when my original flight had two. They sent me an email requesting my credit card information which I assumed was a third party service of United. I signed for a $530 transaction. Moments later I was called back and told they couldn't get me on the flight they quoted me on - and that I would be a different flight that got me and my family home way later with more connections than my original flight. When I attempted to call United to discuss this they had no record of a price change or transaction within the company to change my flight. It would have been free if I had spoken with United. In the end I am confident this is a scam because although I did possibly call the wrong number (though I'm convinced I was forward to this number by an agent) - the email confirmation of the ticket this company sent me was STILL different from the flight I was ultimately booked on with United. In no way does the transaction I approved reflect the services they said they would provide on the phone. They intentionally obscure that they are not with the Airline you are calling for and intentionally charge people for their "travel agency" service. I'm disgusted with this company and hope others can avoid being scammed.
My girlfriend called Alaska to cancel a flight, and they forwarded us over to TripChef. TripChef proceeded to charge her $50 for the cancellation, saying we'd receive the ticket amount back in Alaska Airlines credit. Turns out it would take a week to get the credit, which was never mentioned to us over the phone OR in the emails they sent us. When we called back, they didn't even introduce themselves as "TripChef"; they just immediately started asking for personal information. They refused to do anything to help over the phone; instead the guy just kept reading the same script over and over. We called them twice; same thing. So basically we were charged $50 for credit we couldn't use, since we were re-booking the flight for a week later. They're like one of those scam companies that cold-calls old people pretending to be the IRS and stuff.
This is the absolute worst travel Agency you will ever have do a service with you. They made sure that they were hard to contact. They never told of the non refundable nature of my booking They never email me the documents that we agreed on
Booked flights with this company! They phoned and emailed me to contact them and I waited online with them while they contacted my bank to put my visa thru…”all good confirmation on the way”! Days go by - I phoned them for my ticket confirmation - and was told they couldn’t honour the price they sold me my tickets for! Said they had made attempts to contact me WHICH THEY DID NOT!! The price had doubled! Complete scam! No flights now and a non refundable hotel room at my vacation spot!!! DON’T DO IT!!
Brilliant customer service. The agent was very helpful and polite and quickly resolved my issue. Thanks Tripchef. Keep it up.
Very patient .good customer service
