Sep 24,2024I have been on several YMT trips. Trips r well planned. Several years ago on a National Park trip luggage stolen out of hotel when sitting out of room for collection for bus. Bus driver took me to Walmart to get new clothes & luggage. Next day trip continued.

Sep 22,2024All in all, the driver and tour guide did a great job. I give them 5 stars, the 4 stars is from lack of planning on the part of the home office. The home office should have allowed more time for driving through Boston in rush hour. It was a disappointment getting to Plimoth Patuxet Village just as everything was closing and then had to sit for an hour waiting for our dinner to be served. Also should have done a little more research into road construction. The driver did a great job considering the obstacles he had to face trying to get to hotels were the roads were closed and he had to find his way through residential areas with narrow roads not meant for buses. The step-on guide in Montreal left a lot to be desired. She often talked as she walked away from us and no one could hear anything she said. When she did talk to us before going into Notre-Dame Basilica she was not well versed in the Catholic religion and got several facts wrong but in trying to give us an explanation for the inside of the church, we were almost late for the sound and light show. The lights were turned off before we were able to find seating. Our other step-on guides were wonderful and very knowledgeable. Even though we could not go to the places we were supposed to see in Quebec due to road closures and the Tour de France bike races, we did go to some very interesting alternatives. Give those two guides A++. The Norwegian cruise portion had a few problems. We were told to follow the guide for our first tour, but we never saw a guide and ended up on the wrong bus strictly by accident the correct bus having left without us. The fact that we lost a couple of hours due to problems going through immigration could not be helped, but the cruise director made no effort to inform passengers with land tours scheduled of what their statis was. Many passengers missed their tours which could have been avoided to some extent if she would have told those passengers to go first, which she did not. As a side note - I thought the coffee was terrible - very strong and bitter - but that is no reflection on YMT. We met some wonderful people and delighted to hear we were one of the only couples traveling with YMT for the first time. Several of the couples had been with them 4,5 and more times.
