Sep 03,2021What a 24 hours with the 2 best guides, they pushed us through, motivated but most importantly made it fun and enjoyable the whole time, If anyone was unsure about doing this challenge then don’t be. With Chris and nic by your side you’ll achieve your goal! Thanks for everything and getting us through it!

Sep 02,2021Chris and Nic were excellent. What an experience it was too, couldn't fault the set up of the challenge, the support a long the way and the laughs throughout the weekend. I could not recommend this company highly enough and would recommend anyone who is thinking of doing this, to book through Active Mountaineering. It was one of the best experiences and something i would definitely do again in the future with Nic and Chris. I would give 6* if i could.

Aug 31,2021My partner and I successfully completed the National Three Peaks with this company recently. Nic (lady) and Chris (guy) were extremely helpful from the outset and answered all our many questions by text prior to meeting with them. I would say the following – Safety - Undoubtedly, they are both dedicated to their business and show a professional and sincere care for those for whom they have responsibility on the mountains. This was extended to other hikers in the mountains who appeared to be in distress. Nic and Chris know their way around the mountains, and they are well qualified to be able to do so. We were also always accompanied by several other qualified local mountain guides on the journey. Safety on mountains, particularly at night and in mist, is paramount and this company gained top mark in our opinion. Inspiration and Encouragement – All members of the group attempting this challenge received enormous amounts of encouragement. Nic and Chris were ever attentive to those struggling a little (as we all did at times) and were quick to offer inspirational words and practical encouragement to help us along. Chris and Nic also possess an abundance of energy and a wicked sense of humour which helped tremendously during the whole of this challenge. Don’t expect the softly-softly approach from Chris. He won’t take you by the hand. He is a scouser and passionate about what he does. He will get you up and down safely – but in doing so might use language which may make a trooper blush. Nic is a lovely lady and provided much gentler, but equally effective, encouragement. Taken together, these methods worked in getting everyone in the group up and down the mountains safely and within the 24 hours. Timing – The timing was admirable throughout. They know the timings required for this event inside out which enabled all members of the group complete the challenge within 24 hours. Their aim is to get ALL IN THE PARTY to complete the challenge within 24 hours, and they did. Their aim is not to cater for anyone wishing to complete the challenge in a short period of time at the expense of anyone in the group failing. Managing to get all members of the group over the finish line within 24 hours was a terrific achievement and hats off to Nic and Chris for their part in achieving this. Organisation – Really, this was flawless throughout. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this company highly enough. They are just made for this job. We had a terrific time, and my partner is thinking about her next challenge with them – and she is fussy! A great atmosphere and a great success.

Aug 27,2021If you want the best chance of completing the national 3 peaks in 24 hours in a safe, fun, well-organised, and no-nonesense way, make sure you book with Active Mountaineering. Chris, Nic and all of the guides who joined us during the challenge have this working like a well-oiled machine and it's clear they really care about what they're doing. They make no apologies for being up front about how tough this challenge is but their balance of tough love & much-needed encouragement make sure you're able to get up and down all 3 peaks in 24 hours if you've put in the training and stick with the pace. They come in much cheaper than many 3 peaks companies yet it's clear they don't cut any corners - in fact it seems to me that they're the most serious company out there when it comes to this challenge. It's a tough experience but well worth it. I'll definitely be considering doing different challenges with through Active Mountaineering in the future. Many thanks to Chris & Nic for a brilliant weekend!

Aug 25,2021If you really want to do the 3 peaks in 24 hours then this is the company for you. We saw plenty of other groups doing the ‘24 hour challenge’ but started before us and finished after. They don’t mess around so expect it to be tough but they are highly experienced, well organised and have everything you need to get you through (including a sense of humour). If you go fast enough on Ben Nevis you might even be allowed to stop for a KFC!! All in all a great trip. Now looking to book other challenges with them.

Aug 24,2021If your serious about the 24 hr 3 peaks challenge and want to do it the way its suppose to be done (erm in 24hrs) then this is the company to go for !!! I echo the reviews on Nic and Chris from the reviews prior they were quite simply fantastic as were the other participants but for me it was the little things that Nic and Chris do in this challenge that get overlooked 1. 3 separate driver to maintain full speed. 2. They had everything from blister plasters to strapping to keep the participants patched up and 3. An endless supply of water which was vital to all of us . They keep the moral high from hour 1 till hour 24 .What I'm trying to say is save your phone battery from searching other companies and just read the reviews and book these !!!

Aug 08,2021I would definitely recommend.. straight talking, no fluff. They deliver exactly as promised, 3 peaks 24hrs. Really well organized, safe and knowledgeable. Great guides and the like minded people you meet on this challenge support and encourage each other. I absolutely loved it and will be doing more with Active Mountaineering.

Aug 03,2021From the start Chris and Nic were really organised, keeping us up to date with information. This continued throughout the challenge. They are very straight talking (slightly scary!! But not really!! 😂) but what they advise is exactly what’s needed to get you up and down those mountains as quickly and safely as possible. They are very knowledgeable and use local guides on each mountain to support them....All of them were lovely and made you feel very confident! The like minded people we met, also taking part in the challenge, were great company and the photos on our WhatsApp will make me smile for years to come.. As I said Amazing memories 💞 Really well organised and if I ever do another challenge like this they would be the first people I’d contact!

Aug 02,2021Have just had the BEST weekend doing the National 3 Peaks Challenge with Nic and Chris of Active Mountaineering and I genuinely cannot praise them enough. The trip was rescheduled from 2020 due to Covid and was totally worth waiting for. Everything was top notch, from initial communication through to travel advice, not to mention getting everyone up and down the three mountains in less than that coveted 24 hours. Chris and Nic were professional and knowledgeable every step of the way, explaining exactly what we'd be doing at each stage of the challenge, and they were uncompromising about speed and safety but still took the time to frequently check in with us individually to make sure we were all OK. Absolutely cannot wait for my next adventure with them - I wouldn't book with anyone else.

Aug 02,202131.07.21 Wow what a 24 hours. 3 mountains in 24 hours. They really do get you up and down in 24 hours all 3 mountains. Chris and Nic clearly love what they do. Very knowledgeable in what they do. They get you safely up and down and look after you. Very helpful when you are on a mountain in the dark and cant see bugger all! 😂🤦♀️. I travelled with a mate but don't worry you can go on your own, some on our coach were. We are all part of the same team. Bit of a crazy team but amazing. Chris, nic and all the amazing mountain guides I met thankyou so very much. You are absolutely amazing. Can't wait to come back again. 😘

Aug 02,2021I did the 3 peaks challenge 31 July 2021 and all I can say is wow what an experience Did this with my daughter (28yrs) who loved it as much as me and such a bonding experience and you can make life long friends too Nic and Chris were amazing they know exactly what they are doing to get you through this challenge and done within 24 hrs Just make sure you train for this challenge and have your poles ready 🥰🏅🏔

Jul 23,2021Would 100% recommend this to anyone! We completed the national three peak challenge with Chris & Nic last weekend (17 July) and the whole weekend far exceeded our expectations. I knew it would be a challenge but these guys not only get you up and down three mountains, they make it an experience and an adventure you'll never forget. They definitely take a no-nonsense approach but when you complete all three mountains in under 24 hours you'll see why. Go on the challenge with an open mind and a bit of training under your belt and you'll love every minute of it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone and I'll certainly be joining them for another challenge in the future!

Jul 23,2021If you’re looking at the 3 Peaks 24 and scrolling through the tour groups I personally recommend taking a look at Active Mountaineering. Nikki & Chris are guides who remained with the group the whole time and shared stories, knowledge and the toilet on the bus, yep their bus has a toilet. Nikki, don’t call her Nic otherwise you will unleash a wrath of fury ;) and Chris have a tremendous knowledge but who also understand that the groups may have little or even no knowledge of walking (mountaineering) so give detailed briefings before each mountain and then each interval while on the mountain, expect tips on techniques, when the eat, drink, layer up/down and even kit checks to ensure that bags aren’t over loaded. Nikki & Chris also have supporting guides who are just as great and they all work well together to push and support the group and more importantly the individuals. Some of our group suffered injuries and required assistance, this wasn’t a problem as their are enough guides in the group to help either push forward or retire. Remember they are there for your safety and proved that they have the capability in the team to react to events while allowing the rest of the group to focus on continuing their climb. This is a physical challenge and Active Mountaineering are very professional in their approach so do expect game faces and straight talk. Understand that Active Mountaineering are there to get the whole group through the challenge and will put individuals/groups in their place if they step out of line. This is a great challenge so don’t waste your time on risks and put Active Mountaineering at the top of your short list.

Jul 22,2021Well, where to start?! What a weekend! Just completed the N3P in 24 hours with 2 other friends. Chris and Nic have the planning for this challenge down to a tee. They know exactly how to push the whole team to get as many people as possible to achieve the 3 peaks in a TRUE 24 hours (unlike some other companies out there). The team they have from the drivers to the guides that help out are absolutely fantastic and ensure everything runs like clockwork. Everyone was super supportive, friendly and the atmosphere was just great! The challenge was very tough, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be something I remember forever 🙂. Would HIGHLY recommend Active Challenge to anyone considering a no-nonsense challenge! Thanks guys for such a memorable experience xx

Jul 22,2021What an amazing 24 hours! Chris and Nic really are the best team to get you through the tough 24 hours and give you an extra push when needed. They are so friendly and approachable whilst being assertive and getting you round in the times needed. The trip was run absolutely seamlessly and they really do compliment each other as a team. We were lucky enough to see some amazing views whilst going round but we also had a fantastic team and atmosphere on the bus. It’s a mental challenge and I have Chris and Nic to thank for getting me through. If you’re going to do the three peaks- definitely go with Chris and Nic from active mountaineering.

Jul 22,2021Camaraderie, Banter, Discipline, Teamwork, Resilience and Guidance……The Active Mountaineering 24-Hour, 3-Peak Challenge had it all, yes, Chris and Nic, expertly guided us from Fort William / Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowden and up / down 3 mountains in less than 24 hours; but the value add was they also created a team of 25 individuals / strangers and got the best out of each one of us as human beings, by focussing on each other’s success. Well done Nic and Chris, well done team. Be prepared in your training but be prepared to dig deep on the mountains, then Nic and Chris will then get you up and down with their experience and expert advice. You will not regret it.
