Nov 11,2024Barrdale For anyone considering replacing their furniture, I would strongly advise against choosing Furniture Village. In my experience, they do not treat their customers with respect, and their customer service team is unhelpful and could benefit from retraining. I purchased a black leather sofa from them for £4,500, which was delivered with several defects. I reported the issues within 48 hours, leading to an inspection by a technician from Castelan, who claimed there were no problems. Furniture Village then refused to repair the sofa or issue a refund. To challenge their "independent inspection," I enlisted Barrdale, whose report was ultimately accepted by my bank. With this support, I was able to receive a full refund, which Furniture Village eventually accepted. Barrdale Inspectors are a family-run business with a reputation for trustworthiness and dedication to doing an excellent job. As independent advisors, they bring an unpretentious approach to inspections, focusing on professionalism and a genuine respect for their clients’ property. Their commitment to integrity and thoroughness has made them a go-to choice for those seeking reliable, top-quality inspection services. Nov 06,2024We spent £4,000+ on three sofa chairs from Furniture Village (FV) and made our first complaint after 6 weeks. Fast forward 18 months, and after being blocked by FV at every stage, we got Barrdale on the case. The service was amazing. An introductory call to discuss my issues, a follow up call for me to go through it all (a second time) and then an inspection, followed by a full report. We are still in the midst of trying to get rid and refunded for the sofas as FV want to try and "fix" the issue, so once this is complete I'll be returning to Barrdale for a follow up sofa inspection... Would highly recommend as they were fantastic, and I felt I was in safe hands for the first time in my two year journey...

Barrdale were extremely helpful and professional at all times and a pleasure to deal with. We are extremely pleased with the work they have done, our furniture now looks as good as when we first bought it 25 years ago. I highly recommend Barrdale and would definitely use them again.

What we got back was reupholstered leather chairs and a rich character added to the wood following discussion with Dale. So superb work and great service.

Aug 31,2024We recently tasked Barrdale with restoring our 30yr old teak bookcase and we are really pleased with the result. The rich teak colour is back and looks lovely in our dining room. As teak furniture is quite hard to come by this has been an excellent option. Possibly more information as to the progress of the work would have been helpful but that’s just me.

Aug 30,2024After being let down by a local French Polisher, I found Barrdale from a Google search, but was a little concerned at first that i was "taking a chance" with an unknown company and that our furniture would be taken away. We are absolutely delighted with the results! Following an initial enquiry on Whatsapp, they came out when they said, to give us a no obligation quote to restore a 6ft walnut dining table plus 6 chairs which has been in the family for 60+ years. The quote was broken down into various options and we took the advice of a very knowledgeable Dale who explained everything in detail. Most of the legs were scratched, some had been puppy chewed, including damage to the back of one of the chairs. The table top was quite badly marked also. The whole job took 3 weeks, as estimated and was returned at the appointed time. The results are remarkable and competitively priced. A very big thank you to all concerned. My initial worries were totally unfounded!! It was a pleasure dealing with this family firm and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Apart from the obviously skilled work, I was contacted throughout, collection and delivery times were specified and adhered to and consideration and polite respect was present in the company’s interaction with me and the treatment of my furniture. Aug 29,2024I contacted Barrdale and they came out 2 weeks later to assess the furniture I wanted colour matched to existing oak chairs I had. It was a complicated job as there was liming through the oak as well. Barrdale provided guidance on the best match achievable, explained the process thoroughly and also rang me with updates as to progress. Furniture was brought back and placed in position carefully, and they didn’t leave until I was happy with everything. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a bespoke, professional service with great attention to detail.

Feb 21,2025we had a problem with a sofa and chair from SCS, so we decided to get our own inspection report and we contacted BARRDALE, Dale came out and done a thorough inspection of the sofa and chair, with Dales report we won our case against SCS, thank you Dale you are our hero.
