Still affected by the short experience of employment I had with Caremark Bristol. This was a few years ago. The franchise owners operate, frankly, in a way of complete lunacy. I am convinced they are not mentally sound to run a franchise that revolves around the care and support of vulnerable people, or people at all. On day two of the job, the office manager went for lunch and never came back, yes really, she quit! Another staff member was expected to be on call for an entire week while her elderly parents were both in hospital on ventilators suffering from covid-19. Staff were in tears daily, franchise owners spoke to them like utter dirt. I was verbally reprimanded for not responding to harassing WhatsApp messages out of my working hours about work related tasks, before being fired on a whim of one of the franchise owners one day, after I declined to work a day off (literally refused to give a reason for firing me and stared at me until I left the room, knowing full well I had relocated for the role). Staff on the field didn't stand a chance, and poor practices were going unnoticed, uncorrected and without further training offered. I still think back and shudder at the experience I had. In ten years in the sector I have never come across individuals like the franchise owners, and that's not complimentary. These people ARE STILL RUNNING THE FRANCHISE - and appear to have given themselves 5 star ratings on google reviews - crazy.
Absolutely shocking company, don't spend no time with clients, always on the mobile phones, don't stay for the time they are getting paid for, basically do what they want
LEATHERHEAD Caremark are not compassionate. They turn up when they please they do not want to do their job and often make up reasons to leave early but this is just a few of my issues.ive had things go missing recently and property destroyed I do not trust them to care for anyone.
One of the care coordinators is very dismissive and rude, whenever I call to ask questions or share concerns she is extremely dismissive and not interested, and is more or less saying you like it or lump it, almost feels like they are threatening to pull out of care. There is no compassion or willingness to talk through concerns, they are not interested never ask what the issues are, all they say is, they don't have anyone else who could work with my parents, and they've never had any complaints about this carer. My Mother is receiving palliative care and now on Fast track and my Father is very infirmed. My Mother is not comfortable with male carers providing her personal care, especially when she knows they themselves are not comfortable giving personal care to females. When we began with this company she didn't need personal care assistance, but now she does, and they are unable and unwilling to provide a female. They say they don't have a female and even if they did they wouldn't send a female and a male at the same time, even though one of the Carers told me he's been in that situation where a female carer has come in to do personal care only and males have done the rest. There is a partnership of care between two males, one is extremely diligent, reliable and goes above and beyond and the other, does as little as possible, and lets the other carer pick up the slack. One carer provides absolute basic care, serving food, administering medication and does not like to cook or prepare anything; he leaves the laundry for the other carer, always leaves the dishes in the dish rack, doesn't record the medications, last time he left it 2 days until partner came to record, even though he had lots of standing around time during the visit. This same carer unfortunately isn't sociable and finds it very difficult to connect with the clients. My parents do not feel confident in their care. Even though my father tries to instruct and share what he needs they forget like filling up the kettle so he can have a cup of tea during the night, making sure there's milk in the fridge, as he is a fall risk, and cannot get to where the milk is stored. They often forget to put his clothes out for him to dress when he gets up in the middle of the night. His last fall was caused through trying to get clothes for himself to wear out of his closet, because they didn't leave them out for him.
Hire anyone and everyone they can get a hold of.... DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH THE CARE OF YOUR LOVED ONES!! YOU WILL RECEIVE NOTHING BUT NEGLECT AND ABUSE OF DUTIES
The care provided by this company is anything but caring. I have been subjected to late calls, rushed calls where half of the tasks are missed completely, not washed properly, and carers just turning up when they feel like it. I recently had a laek in my kitchen which has left me without any way of washing my clothes. I am double incontinent and as I do not have many clothes am being forced to wear wet and solied items sometimes for more than one day. Towels are being used day after day even thouh I o have clean ones of these. I now smell due to poor personal care. Please avaid this company if you ned care as you will not get any.
We would put zero stars if we could. This company is down right out of order. They have no care or compassion. They are all franchised and the care is zero. It is just about making money. They employ vulnerable people on skilled work visas who are scared for the jobs to speak out for fear of recuperations from the management team. The carers in general are alright, however some have a poor grasp of english, which makes communication. Many don’t have the right skills need to carer properly and can be rude towards the clients. When you complain you aren’t listened too and they are not bothered. If you didn’t pay their invoice they’d soon listen!!! The company talk the talk but don’t walk the walk they offer the world but don’t deliver.
Caremark Doncaster management are bullies to staff and service users if it doesn't go their way. They are not genuine, say one thing do another. The staff are suppose to do a 35 hours plus week but don't get anything near those hours or salaries. It’s all about the money no consideration for care or staff. Appalling company not fit to call themselves a CARE! company.
Absolutely shocking, sacked me with no reason, haven’t gave me any warning. Left me in the lurch. Please go careful with this company they have do it to other staff member ever since new management.
I’ve called the care agency everyday this week about carers constantly being late still nothing has been done after numerous calls to the office and the manager , my mum is a stroke patient and can not walk and only has use of her right arm , meaning my mum is bed bound , which means she has to rely on myself , mainly the carers to change her , she has to sit in her soil until they arrive she has specific times to try and avoid bed sores, every single visit the care staff turning up late even though I’ve been told by managemen that things have been put in place to improve this this, this is laughable, WHAT CHANGE !!!!! I just feel sorry for patients that this happens to that can’t help there selves or have a family to speak up for them , another week passes with Caremark and still no change , management is poor , I think it’s time for change for my mums sake
I have been slightly concerned with the Caremart Rotas. My mum has Vascular Dementia. And with privately paying for 2 or 3 visits a day but my mum would get 3 different cares in the same day. Or 10 different people within 14 visits how my mum is supposed to recognise all these different faces .. was very annoyed phoned the Office and they tried to correct. Also 1 carer put Clean bed sheets on top of dirty ones. Very Frustrating
I have had no care for full days, lots of missed and cancelled calls. The management are rude and verbally abusive. They sail very close the wind and have made my life a misery. They told me that I had no rights, no right of privacy and would still have to pay for non calls because they had given fair notice that they could not cover calls. I terminated my contract with them and will only get in people who I know I can trust and have no reason to abuse me. I use people like cleaners, gardeners, oddjobmen, etc. who look after my practical needs and treat me with respect and quite often kindness. I am quite poorly and disabled, but I feel such a relief in getting rid of Caremark out of my life. I am happier and feel that I have my life back. Difficult to fill in the date of experience because it was ongoing.
A disgusting company whose carers manage to do their best despite management pressure to rush calls due to overloading of local runs , they treat their carers like crap , paying minimum wage , leaving carers stranded late at night with no transportation , they pay lip service to quality when all they are interested in is filling company bank accounts , they take advantage of the carer visa scheme forcing immigrant carers to work up to 60 hours a week in fear of being reported and deported , slave labour in other words , do not allow them to be assigned to your loved ones.
After over a year of dealing with the horrors of council commissioned care with several different care companies, I discovered Direct Payments and switched to Caremark (Cheam branch). It's like night and day. I so wish I'd done this sooner!! It's such a relief not to have to explain every little thing multiple times and to have carers who are positive and speak English and turn up on time! You can build up time through the direct payments system so you can finally get some time out and know that, firstly, your loved one is safe and happy, and secondly, when you get home, some housework will have been done too! I found this incredibly helpful. My mum has gone into a care home now. It's been a couple of months and we still miss our regular carers. This says it all!
I wish I saw these reviews before I let this company anywhere near my father. Dana was uncaring and unhelpful. My dad had previously had a bad time with carers on a whole which the company new yet they still did not complete there calls and an hour call paid they only turned up for 5 mins stay clear
The care staff were very good a few hiccups at first but was all sorted got great carers really helped me and my mam would recommend caremark
Richmond Caremark will destroy instead of care of anyone. Basically they do not care about their Paitent. They cut corners a lot but charge a lot of money. They can’t provide basic care and their so called manager is also usless, speaks to people without manners or respect. They need to be shut down
Caremark Wokingham and Bracknell region. Reading the reviews here, my wife and I totally agree. Terrible management, some carers are great but on a whole, as a company, awful do not use them !! destruction to property by carers, inexperienced staff resulting in my wife in tears, turn up when they please, lying on care notes and take 10 minutes to provide care then leave but will still charge full amount agreed. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I think the main stay for me was a reviewer stated mondern day slave labour with their staff. Shameful. Edit .. Caremark Wokingham and Bracknell have made good on all damages done in a timely manner.
Amazing staff, in the office and outside. They work with my needs and 3 years later they are still with me best angency ever
