Do not trust this care provider, sadly they are far from being a caring company. Very concerning was that through our own negative experience we were made aware that their priority is the income from private paying clients even to the point where safeguarding is ignored to retain income. We learned that the carers are too afraid to voice their concerns to management through fear of job/visa loss. The company management purposely hires people from abroad on a contract for the purpose of them having to be the company’s mules. If you want proper care for your loved ones then I utterly advise you DO NOT go with “care” mark.

The branch Solihull Shirley since under new management has only one motive money making there is no care for the clients or staff at all management won’t take any blame for the lack of support from themselves instead blame carers. The manager and supervisor only have the title of the job no compassion at all. When they thought they have carers who will speak against them they used the new scheme of calling carers from abroad in order to have them working under them so they cannot raise their voices against them otherwise they will cancel their visa.Talk about modern slavery.

I have worked for Caremark in Northern Ireland for almost 5 months, doing both companionship sits and care assistant runs. I have found it really enjoyable so far, it's rewarding, there's plenty of support and the hours are really flexible. They also do various employee events and incentives which are a nice way of rewarding staff.

Terrible company, do not give a toss about anything but money, put anyone in just to cover a call, -bloke down the road would do as long as they cover the call, awful unprofessional management- lie to save their face, stay well clear of this company

Caremark, Shirley, Solihull - I write this review with the utmost honesty and sincerity and strongly advise you do not employ this care provider. Our experience with this company proved the management are false, unprofessional and really do not care. They may fool you while attaining your custom but in time their true colours will show. They caused my elderly parents the utmost and horrific stress and mental torment with their lies, deceit and lack of professionalism. Sadly the only thing they really care about is money. They are extremely false, you will sense the falseness when you meet them but do not make the mistake of giving them the benefit of the doubt as with time you will realise the care of your loved ones is the lowest of their priorities. Some but not all of the carers were wonderful but due to the poor management there is no way I could not write this review to warn others.

Yet, after 2 yrs of the ‘so called’ contract being closed, I am ‘still’ being sent threatening letters From Buckinghamshire Council to pay for Care I DID NOT received. Caremark have been taking massive amounts of money from BCC, & then passing the debt for care I DID NOT receive? Quite frankly, I REALLY don’t understand how these council are accepting this FRAUDULENT behaviour? All Caremark did, was,, invade my life, they did NOTHING,, banging on my door after 10pm, taking my key out of my key safe, making themselves coffee leaving their mugs for me to clear up, going through my life,, still causing me stress! I seriously say more… Just be very warned to NEVER trust Caremark.

Carers are poorly or not at all trained and very quick to say what they can't do but when it comes to what they should do like basic care they have always the same excuse that the person refused to eat or drink or change and leave after 5min. but should have stayed 1 hour. Ye should be called "Don't Caremark"

Engaged this company's Maidstone branch on the 10th November to provide domiciliary care for my wife who suffers with Dementia, following her discharge from hospital with a six week social care package. The first three days went ok, but on day 4 the carer arrived & advised that their care manager Lizzie Higgins-Page had instructed the carers not to shower my wife and only give her a strip wash. Apparently due to concerns from someone (unnamed) regarding a possible slip risk. Told them if they had bothered to discuss it with me I could have pointed out that it was a non slip shower tray. Told them she had to have daily showers to prevent infection risk. LHP stated she wanted an OT to come in and inspect, which I arranged with the hospital OT. She visited & watched the carers carry out showering duties, making suggestions to them for future improvements they could make. Report compiled by OT which recommend that I install an additional grab handle & non slip mat in the shower cubicle which I subsequently did. The following day I expected the carers to recommence showering my wife (which I had been doing since LHP had stopped them, whilst the carers stood and watched me) and I was paying for this privilege! When they arrived they advised that LHP had still not lifted the embargo on showering as she wanted another OT to come in and sign-off the changes, which was insulting to the hospital OT. At this point I lost it with her and told her she was a total jobsworth lacking in common sense. She hadn't even been round to our house to assess it in the first place before taking us on, this was completed by one of the carers. So from a Health & Safety point of view she was negligent in the first place & she compounded the error by not visiting us to discuss the problem that she subsequently raised. Customer service skills very poor & she managed to inflame an already heated situation, which I'm sure could have been sorted out more amicably if she had visited in person. This was meant to reduce the stress in caring for my wife & it did just the opposite. We had a number of heated discussions when we both agreed this couldn't continue & I would have to look for an alternative care company. Initially she said she would not leave us in the lurch until I had found a replacement company, but subsequently advised they would finish providing care for my wife last Sunday 26th November. They have not treated us fairly and failed in their duty of care, leaving us without a care company. I've reported them to the CQC for failing carry out their duties properly. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I regret using Caremark Bracknell for live-in care for my respite break. I returned to find the house filthy and I was horrified to find two untreated wounds and a four inch bruise on Mum's legs. I then discovered that our dining table had been drawn on in biro! I contacted Caremark and they said they would investigate. However, they only cleaned the house after I threatened to send them the cleaning bill and their investigation consisted of presenting the carer's version of events as fact, when she had obviously lied. Subsequently, the matter was investigated by Bracknell Social Services and the Council and the carer was found to be guilty of neglect by omission and of verball aggression. Caremark were told to apologise to Mum in writing. We are still waiting for this apology! I thought it was one bad carer but now I realize this extends the management. They have now sent a bill in excess of what was agreed when a decent company would seek to make ammends for the distress we have suffered.

Writing on behalf of a friend who is a customer of Caremark (Hessle, East Yorkshire). He doesn't have a good word to say about them. The so called carers are absolutely useless when it comes to keeping time with appointments, sometimes turning up way after their allotted time slots. Teatime calls aren't teatime calls but suppertime calls. Some of the staff also have absolutely no understanding or grasp of the English language and struggle to perform the simplest of tasks such as opening a tin of meat. My friend is totally frustrated with the service provided especially for the amount of money he pays per month. It's a service that's not worth paying for.

Caremark Thanet looked after my mother and I can't praise them enough. The regular carers knew my mother well and I truly feel they became part of our family. My mother sadly passed away and Caremark provided her with dignity in her last year.

Caremark In Pulborough are fantastic. The care my mum receives from Chelsea Bowall is outstanding, she goes above and beyond in everything she does. She makes my mum feel listened to and is so gentle and caring. She doesn't get enough credit for how marvellous she is. Don't let Chelsea go! She will go far as a carer.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not use this company if you are in the East Riding. Most of the staff, both office and carers, are totally unprofessional. 4 minute calls made although getting paid for 30 minutes, wet beds left unchanged, dirty laundry left in washing machine, dirty pots in sink and client left unchanged and dirty, all because the carers are lazy and want to get home ASAP. Useless trying to complain to the office when the supervisor is actually the mother of two of the carers!. I could go on but I think you get the drift. They actually ended up making a 91 year old cry and left her frightened in her own home. This was the final straw for the family and hence this review.

I used to be a carer for this company, worked for over a year. This management team are terrible. They neglected me so much and treated me terribly. It was straight out bullying in the workplace. I was one of the very few caters who were loved and vouched for by the clients dearly, and my management team still didn’t appreciate this from me. So many of the clients I took on spoke about leaving but stayed because they were treated and handled by me. My boss knew this and still didn’t care about my presence at the workplace even though I was a REALLY big reason for the success of client treatments. Anytime I requested holiday which im legally obliged to, she would reject it and complain even though I’d give more than a months notice? After fighting my way to take my holiday that I am OBLIGED to, she then threatened to cut my hours? How unprofessional!! I was cut more than 30hours!! Even when I started my job I was given no basic training at all!! The only way I learned was from colleagues who worked for previous caring companies that had training so they could show me. Or I had to ask my clients nurses etc. Honestly SO unprofessional and SO disrespectful and ungrateful . I don’t know how these people are still even in business. Ive been drained mentally from this past year, I put so much love and care into my clients and they still treated me rubbish. And yet they had the audacity to beg for me back because the clients were complaining about where I’ve gone and that nobody else gives them proper treatment ! Pathetic company

This company will never change unless they get some decent management and train their carers in a proper care environment like an EMI NURSING HOME!!!! I'm fortunate enough to have a fantastic wee carer called STEPHI who never has any trouble with my Pappy however I find it strange that every Saturday when I'm not around my Father refuses care so off she went and didn't even bother her backside to at least make the bed!!!!!!! There's a fair few that don't bother making beds....There's no point in even phoning as nothings ever done about just the same old same!!!! I could write a dossier about them...All the ones at the top are RQI Trained and worked for them so why are STANDARDS SO SHOCKINGLY BAD????? AS a Carer I've worked in EMI NURSING HOMES MOSTLY BUT I'VE ALSO WORKED IN THE COMMUNITY BUT NEVER HAVE I WITNESSED SUCH A SHAM COMPANY!!! I had a friend in Donaghadee who really couldn't do anything for herself and Caremark done very little for her..They rarely made her bed and wouldn't put her rubbish out for her but she was too soft and sick to make an issue of it so in memory of her death I'll say it for her as I witnessed it on a fair few visits to her and I did for her what they wouldn't as they were coming in for all of 5mins but signing in for the whole time!!!! I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone!!!!
