The ABSOLUTE WORST. They sold us on a robust list of partners and then had no one on their integration list for us to use. They charged us -- a small start up -- $40,000 to "integrate" and then auto-renewed on a credit card even though they had not provided any service.
Channel Advisor sold us snake oil on their inventory sync for their Marketplace product, promising that it will integrate with our ERP system (Netsuite) and 3rd party fulfillment company we are working with. After 6 months of signing up with them, integration failed miserably, their support admitted that their API does not work properly for the inventory sync (which is the most important integration in a marketplace software), and they had the audacity to bill us for launch and continued use of the software. We called and emailed their sales and accounting department many times, and they completely ghosted us despite their continuing attempts to charge our credit card. I initiated a charge back on the set up fee, but they are fighting it. I personally left a message to their Chief Accounting Officer named Richard Cornetta, and I am still waiting for his return call. It seems like their billing department does not communicate with sales or support whatsoever. This company's mission seems to be to have their sales guys lie about their faulty product, secure contracts from ecommerce companies who are basing half their business on their software, and move on to the next sucker. Avoid working with this company at all costs!
We entered into an annual contract with Channel Advisor. They struggled to set us up on Amazon which took them 2 months with no setting aside of fees in this period. They include a 12 month auto renewal clause but do not provide any notice of the renewal. We cancelled on receiving the invoice on the anniversary but they are going legal to force us to work with them for another year. This is an unusual way to have a constructive business relationship. Avoid and set up on Amazon yourself as they add little value and prey on small businesses.
We have been with Channel Advisor for several years now and to be honest it has never worked as it should have. We paid extra for them to set up our Amazon integration and our assigned contact was simply rude, telling us off for not completing the "homework" she set us to complete the set up - surely this is not the point of paying them to do it? When we eventually got it working we got fairly good results and they then pressurised us to go to a managed service promising huge results - for a cost. Needless to say this didn't happen and luckily we had insisted on a 6 month get out clause. The major problem is the work they had allegedly done to improve our listings had had the opposite effect and all the key words and search terms had been messed up. They had assured us they had kept a copy of our original key words and search terms and could revert to these but they had somehow gone missing :( The final insult is we tried to leave them last year and were told we were a few days past the 30 days notice we needed to give them prior to our renewal date which was only acceptable on an annual basis. Meaning we have had to stay with them for a further 11 months of have the pleasure of paying them to leave. As other reviewers have suggested, there are much better systems now on the market at a fraction of the cost so we would advise to stay away.
Out of curiosity I made an enquiry with ChannelAdvisor many years ago back in 2013, to cut a long story short I decided using ChannelAdvisor's services would not be in the best interest of the business. Fast forward to 2018 i'm still getting calls from ChannelAdvisor despite asking to be removed from any databases I might be on. ChannelAdvisor also have the name of one of my colleagues and seem to alternate between calling us both... despite both of us informing ChannelAdvisor we're not interested and asking to be removed from any databases we might be on. The negative reviews of ChannelAdvisor on Trustpilot and Facebook echo the many concerns we had when considering ChannelAdvisor. Looking back a few years this reinforces we made the right decision to use an alternate solution to integrate with Amazon / Ebay, which worked out 90% cheaper per year and gave us the end result we desired. It would be rude to mention the names of alternative solutions here, however if your a small business i'd certainly recommend you do your own research before committing to a very expensive long term contract.
There are now many other options to replace CA that are WAY more cost effective and... Get this... You can actually call a customer support person to get a question answered. CA ticket/email support system is a joke. It takes up to 3 days sometimes to get a simple question answered. And then most of the time they just give you a link to their very poorly developed "how to" articles. This is what you get for paying over $50,000 a year for??? No thanks. We found a very comparable alternative and have been happy. Time to let the Dinosaur that is ChannelAdvisor go extinct.
Channel Advisor is a very cost effective way to integrate into multiple marketplaces. They have a great partnership with people like eBay, which helps us stay ahead of changes.
Channel Advisor has really helped our business grow. They provided a platform in which we are perfectly staged to expand our reach exponentially with less work on our end.
Channel advisor not only provides large amount of sellers for our marketplace platform but also makes business much more efficient and effective. Staff are super professional and know what we Marketplace wants and what sellers needs. I appreciate our partnership with Channel Advisor.
I have been using Channel advisor for 3 yrs and the company for nearly over 5yrs and love the commitment and knowledgebase of Channeladvisor's teams. We have had a great partnership with them and they helped us expand into new marketplaces as well as globally. The support team and tools they provide give a great balance to those wanting to independently support or need additional guidance. The transparency to new updates and expansions are excellent. If you haven't I would even recommend attending their Catalyst event where even the experienced users can find time to learn something new. The beginners or those who haven't started even with Channeladvisor can gain excellent insight and knowledge.
Great software that makes selling on marketplaces much easier
Best Software for Ecommerce
The absolute best way to get all of your products listed in all of the relevant marketplaces. Hands down.
Love the platform! Works great for all of our needs and helps us expand to new markeplaces very easily. Customer support is excellent as well.
CA is probably the best solution in the marketplace for sellers wanting to offer goods on multiple marketplaces. The software is comprehensive and relatively easy to learn and use. It is also stable with few day-to-day problems. However, it is also the most expensive solution out there (by far) and they require a one year contract. In addition, they are not easy to break away from when the contract expires. They continued to charge us even after our contract expired and forced us to go through our bank and credit card company to recover the extra charges. We also found them very inflexible. You pretty much have to accept it is their way or the highway. All in all it is good software but not the best company to work with.
Over promised, under delivered. I spent a great deal of time researching Channel Advisor. That is, over a year before I decided to go for it. The sales reps there are VERY aggressive, and will promise you the moon. I read tons of reviews that were very positive, like many of the ones on here. That leads me to believe that many of these reviews are shills for the company. The reps will tell you that Channel Advisor will handle so many of the problems you have been having. The kind of problems that happen when your e commerce operation starts going into the million dollar plus sales range and beyond. Balancing inventory between various marketplaces, creating master skus, repricing on various marketplaces, building variations on products across thousands of skus, listing products with huge amounts of variations... those were all problems we were having. Channel Advisor will help you get launched, for a fee of course. Everything is for a fee. Soon the numbers become massive, and you now have an incredible overhead added onto what you already have to cover. No problem you'll be told, "blank"% of Channel Advisor customers increase sales "blank" amount (insert huge number that seems overly optimistic for both). You'll be aggressively pushed to sign paperwork locking you into a very inflexible contract. Once that is signed, it will become increasingly difficult to get ahold of your sales rep. Now you are in the hands of the launch team. They were nice guys, I can't think of anything bad to say about any of them, but they were much more interested in hurrying up and putting things on amazon, walmart, ebay, etc than explaining their methodology or what would be the ramifications later. I ended up with disasters of listings that were suppressed, cancelled, duplicated on amazon incorrectly, and so forth. Sales actually went down. I went from spending time developing my business to spending 12 hour days just fixing problems within Channel Advisor. The repricer never, ever worked correctly. I had used Feedvisor before that, and it worked great. Channel Advisors repricer is the worst piece of software I have ever seen designed. The listing templates, while seeming to help productivity, didn't at all. Most of CA was about as effective as Terapeak, except that Terapeak costs about $180 per year, while CA costs thousands per month, depending on your package. In the end, I counted down the days to get RID of Channel Advisor and go back to other software that works better and has much better contractual agreements. I pay about 1300 a month now for several different suites, and I am very happy. I mention all of this not because I have a personal grudge against the company, its just that its not at all worth what they charge for it. I estimate that the value of using CA in the year 2016 was about NEGATIVE $35,000 to my company, all considered. Hopefully this review saves someone a year of their life.
This is a great company. They are easy to work with and have been very honest with me. They have more features than I could've imagined.
We have recently signed up for the buy button service with Channel advisor. The service we have experienced so far has been great. From the first meeting to the launch date the team have been a real support.
The support network provided is second to none and the system is extremely user friendly which provides great efficiencies to the team.
