Oct 30,2021Delivery was prompt and the product was accurately produced. There was a small, but obvious defect (small scratch and dent) which I chose to fix myself rather than taking the time and expense to return. I have been happy with both the product and service on several other occasions. Subsequent to this review, I heard from Annie in customer service who not only replaced the damaged frame at no cost to me but also offered 20% off my next order. This is the way business should be done. I will be using Custom Picture Frames again and would recommend them without reservation.

The item I received had an error but they quickly fixed it and sent out a new one without any hassle. They even helped me choose a complimentary color for my artwork. Great company to work with -- excellent quality and even better price.

Oct 21,2021Custompictureframes.com was suggested to me by a non-local, conservation framer to design a ready-made, archival frame, with the specific materials I was wanting, for reframing a cherished, 33 year old, personalized, autographed photo, myself, without the risk/expense of shipping and using a professional framer. At first, working with customer service representative, Annie, was a true pleasure, and I found this business to be exceptional, with incredible customer service. I had planned to, not only recommend them highly, but to also use them again in the future for archival framing another autographed photo, as well as two other documents. However, after working with Annie on designing my frame for 11 days, on the day I was ready to order, I wanted to know if a specific brand of museum acrylic could be ordered, instead of the one offered, due to its far superior strength, durability, and clarity over other museum grades. I also questioned their response over the necessity of archival grade, corrugated backing board and was in the process of making final decisions on these two issues before placing my final order. Instead of being told about the specific glazing’s availability so I could place the order, customer service unexpectedly responded back, saying: “After careful consideration for your artwork, since we will not be in possession of the artwork for framing, which is recommended for archival work at this level, and while we would be using the necessary archival components it would be best for you to support your local framer for this delicate work to ensure your artwork is framed properly, professionally, and to your satisfaction. I will bookmark this email thread with my notes, and if you do reconsider in shipping the artwork to us for framing, or if we can be of any further assistance, please be sure to let us know!” After this message, customer service became completely unresponsive to my reply. The business *refused* to let me finish my order/sell me my frame unless I agreed to their sudden, new conditions that I mail my photo into them for framing, or take my business elsewhere. This was after Annie had previously mentioned that she had never heard of archival framing, and that while they are mostly just production, they do some framing. Bottom line, this would have been an over $80 frame. This is my photo, and I decide what is best for it, not this business. You don't issue an ultimatum to a customer who never asked them to frame the photo in the first place, and you certainly don't bully them by implementing the condition that you either send us the piece, or you can't order your frame, we won't do business with you, take your business elsewhere. It was understood from the start that this was to be a ready-made frame, ready for me to put my picture inside and seal the back up myself. I was so shocked, upset, and even felt slightly discriminated against. They wasted my time, caused me unnecessary stress/anxiety, and I still don't have a frame. It was to have been a belated birthday gift, for a milestone birthday I was having, that I was excited about receiving. Instead, it became a disappointing nightmare, and some of the worst treatment by a business I have ever received. I was very happy with the frame I had picked out and the materials I specified. The only obligation required of this business was to ensure I received the quality frame I was ordering, with the exact, museum grade materials I specified, nothing further. If they had just been patient enough to answer my final glazing product question, and the completed, delivered frame turn out to be of the superior quality/craftsmanship I was expecting it to be, they would have had a customer for life. I shouldn’t have been denied the sale, if I didn’t want to let them frame my photo, and I still want my frame. They weren’t interested in my dissatisfaction over their refusal of service, or reaching out to try and make this right by just letting me complete my purchase. They were only interested in protecting their reputation by stating to the BBB that I was not a customer of the business. I, in turn, provided the BBB with all email correspondence to the contrary, proving my interactions with them and the resulting outcome. Would give zero stars if I could.
