Exellent service - great car - good price Thank you for the experience
We used DriveAway Holidays Australia as our booking agent for hiring a car from Alamo at Dallas Airport in March this year. AS a booking agent, the options provided to us by DriveAway were very comprehensive and the booking software was easy to use. When we had a query with the booking, DriveAway were prompt in their response and resolved the issue without delay. Alamo were a good choice for our car hire in the US. Much cheaper than the "usual" car hire companies and they gave a similar level of quality in the car and the service provided.
Booked with Driveaway Holidays, picked up our hire car in London without any problems.
Unfortunately when I rent through these guys, the rental company always gives me a poor car, usually an old one in their fleet, this time driveways description did not match the rental companies car class. They need to sort out their suppliers. Driveaway are usually the cheapest which is great, but for the $10 or $20 saving I might look elsewhere next time.
Every thing went to plan. The car provided was exactly as expected and we were not pressured into all the extras as most of those were included already in the price.
We have leased through Peugeot Open Europe for 11 years now and in each instance for a period of 3 months. We have had virtually trouble free motoring with all of the vehicles during this time. In the couple of instances where we have had the need for assistance, the service has been prompt, and exceptional. My only comment would be the matter of snow chains during the winter months, which although required by law (in Italy at least), are not provided, and have to be purchased by us each year, depending on the model of vehicle. This might be an issue the Company could consider looking into?

I have rented many cars through Driveaway Cars and in every case the car has been good and the comprehensive insurance cover for $5 per day is excellent value. Our most recent rental was with Thrifty, car was very good and process of car pick up and return were very good.
I had ordered a 300C premium car but when I got there, found out the only 300C was a luxury car and I couldn't select it without paying more. Ended up picking a Chevy Impala instead and it did the job.
Car pick-up was quick and easy. Local agents tried to "up-sell" various options and insurance which would have ended up costing 2-3 times original cost, thanks to information from DriveAway knew I didn't need so saved even more over earlier years.
Good motor homes at both ends of the cost scale. Service was efficient. Booking was easy, staff helpful. Delux model had great added features well worth their additional expense. If you are staying at private properties, 10 amp converter is essential and this is not included in all models or automatically. Motorhomes are generally 15amp. If you can't recharge by plugging in you need to run the vehilce daily to keep home charged.
I don't think our experience could have been more easy and hassle free. Will use again definately
This website looks great on paper but when you think you have booked a specific car, don't expect to get the car. Most of the rental companies make no effort to get the car that is booked. I think DriveAway should make it clear that you may get the vehicle chosen. We recently went to the USA and made 3 bookings on the web site. We did not receive anything we booked, leading to disappointment.
Got exactly what we had asked for on arrival overseas. The order had been placed with the overseas company and we could very quickly pick up the car.

Whenever we have used driveaway it has made a a difference to our car hire experience. We know what to expect. The base price of the car hire is locked in. The excess gap is covered. Very good service
There was an issue with luggage compartment size: I took the measures from Driveaway's website and worked out that there was plenty of room for our 3 suitcases and extra. Width, height and depth were specified but what was not specified was that height varied under the backward sloping back seat of the Peugeot 308: we still managed to fit our suitcases but it was a tight squeeze. The other issue was that the brand new car had not been properly tested. The fuel injection was leaking and, after 3 days and 550km, resulted in a complete breakdown of the car on 26 December. It took 1.5 hours for breakdown service to arrive and a further 3.5 hours to arrange a replacement car and a taxi to where we could pick up the replacement car. Then it was almost 7 days before we could return the replacement car and pick up the repaired car from the garage that it was taken to. this could have been more of a problem if we had not already arranged to stay the 7 days in that area anyway.
Always use Driveaway - have used in the USA and Australia when on holiday. Never have issues with rental companies and when you ring driveaway always polite and prepared to go out of the way to help. Takes the hassle out of renting a car for us anyway.
I have used Drive-away Holidays Australia on several occasions - usually after getting quotes from several companies first. I find that the prices are excellent, the insurances you require are included and you can pre-pay in Australian dollars prior to departure. Drive-Away Holidays Australia give you the best deal for the city in which you wish to hire a car, and do not favour one rental company at all. I fully recommend Drive Away Holidays Australia and they are now my first choice when renting a car anywhere in the world.

Mar 30,2015We purchased a hire car through DriveAway for a 3 week period in New Zealand in February-March 2015. The car was great; it had only done 5000kms; and took no time at all at the hire desk when we arrived since all payments bar a $100 card swipe had been done in Australia. Would certainly do it this way next time rather than organise a car when we arrive at our destination, as as been our way previously.
