Thrifty car hire at Auckland airport had appalling service. We had to queue for over an hour to be served . Then were told that our pre booked car was not available and that we should stand over in the corner with the other 5 people and family's till one arrived . Over 30 mins later we were given a car. All the other car rentals had virtually no queues and their customers were served promptly . Return was as bad with all the thrifty bays full and our car had to be double parked with the other 15 cars that couldn't fit in front of the hire cars that were ready to go - good luck if you had hired one of those you would not have been able to move it. While other car hire companies had staff in the car park thrifty had no staff at all . We were supposed to at our hotel at 4 but didn't get there till 7 as a result of waiting for our car hire.
I rented a car for 15 days of driving around the UK. The phone service was terrific (I called a few times but always the case). The car was collected in London, as advertised and went like a charm. Will definitely use you again!

Whilst Dollar rentals at LA airport looks cheap, it really isn't. Be aware that the price you pay Driveaway is not what you end up paying.. There is an airport charge, extra insurance and a full tank of petrol at6 their price to contend with as well. So what looked like a great deal - isn't! Also the lines at the depot are long , so after a long flight, do not think that you will get your car quickly and sail right into the city. In fact it was almost 2 hours before we were able to leave the car yard from the time we caught the complimentary bus at LA airport. We have used other car rental companies before and it has never been that bad!!!
I have used Driveaway many times both within Australia and overseas. I have never experienced any problems and have even been upgraded a few times. A big advantage with Driveaway is being able to phone or email consultants who answer promptly and accurately.
The customer service team were fantastic. They were really one of the best organised companies I have dealt with in a long time. When we are arrived we were upgraded for free, no problems at all with the car; in fact it was great! I would highly recommend this company not only for their amazing service but the fact that they were one of the few companies in Uluru that hired cars with unlimited kilometres which was a great bonus for us.
I contacted the office via phone and email a few times and staff were very helpful. Email of details and reminder of same was useful. The experience with Driveaway was positive, happy with the vehicle and company.

We leased from Peugeot through Driveway. The Driveway staff in Sydney we always helpful and dealt with all questions and requests in a prompt and friendly way.
The staff was very friendly, The cars were in good shape. The GPS that I received was out dated. Coming to a new country for a holidays and driving around with outdated GPS was a big hassle. The side mirror of the car I received in Queenstown the side mirror has to be adjusted manually.
I used driveaway 5 time, every time I was pleased with their professional help . I raccomand to every one and few of my friends start to book trough driveaway. well done thanks everyone
We rented a vehicle with DriveAway Holidays for just over two months while we explored Europe. They provided a perfect car for our needs at one of the best prices we could find. They answered any questions we may have had and also provided useful information about the local requirements. eg. The need for winter tires in certain country's and the different types of tolls and road tax systems we were likely to encounter. A hassle free experience that made our holiday that much more enjoyable. We highly recommend DriveAway Holidays.
Simple to quote, simple to book, simple to complete. One alternative quote direct from a Hire Company was twice the price. The Hire Co provided was one previously used and reliable.

Feb 06,2015We use drive away to compare rental companies and have always been pleased that they will have at least one offer inclusive of insurance. We recently had a family emergency overseas and found out that you must book at least 2 days in advance- which we didn't have that sort if notice. We paid 'walk up' rates at the counter which were for four days the same price as booking drive away deals for two weeks. My only criticism would be that there be some sort of availability to book at shorter notice.
