The ECG Academy® Learning System is an online, self-paced ECG course created by a cardiac electrophysiologist and award-winning educator, Dr. Nick Tullo. It consists of easy to understand video tutorials that will quickly teach you how to expertly interpret complex ECG rhythm strips and 12-lead electrocardiograms. The course starts with the basics, so no prior experience is needed.... you only need a desire to become an ECG Expert.
ECG Academy is not just another ECG Course. We teach the BETTER Way to Read ECGs... rather than relying on "recognizing" arrhythmias (like in ACLS), you will learn WHY the ECG looks the way it does. You'll become comfortable ANALYZING tracings with a deep understanding of the physiology behind the tracings.
Our mission is to “revolutionize” ECG learning and get everyone in the healthcare field who values their job and their patients to “Read Different” — to see ECGs in a new light and start recognizing that there’s more to arrhythmias than what’s in the textbooks. We are building a community of providers who look at ECGs like a cardiac electrophysiologist. Unfortunately, most providers never have the opportunity to train with a cardiologist, and certainly not with an EP doctor. We want to open new doors in your career by enabling you to recognize the subtle findings in tracings from across the room that others never see.
The course has been remarkably easy to follow, and the content is of exceptional quality. Dr. Nick’s ability to seamlessly integrate humor into the sessions has made the learning experience not only highly educational but also enjoyable. As a recent PA graduate working in outpatient general cardiology, the knowledge gained from this course has been invaluable. It has significantly contributed to my confidence and competence in interpreting EKGs, a crucial skill in my job. I was so impressed with the course that I have recommended it to all my PA/NP coworkers and other colleagues who may benefit from it. If you need to improve your EKG interpreting skills, look no further than this course. You will not regret it!!
The best ECG course in North America . Very well taught. Amazing ECG cases. Worth every dollar
I enjoyed that the sections were broken down into digestible segments. The course was well constructed and built upon prior instruction. It was as entertaining and fun as an ECG course could be.
At this point I can confidently say that this is the best approach to explaining the material that I have ever come across - electrophysiological, physiological, anatomical basics and theory combined with lots of practical examples. It's an incredible thrill to learn from someone who has such incredible experience in his field. I would like to commend the support team for their quick responses and help. Special thanks for Dr. Tullo's humor in the videos!
Dr. Nick Tullo's ECG Academy certificate program was excellent. His style of teaching, making it visual with a splash of humor was exactly what I needed to learn and become more confident and efficient at reading ECG's. This program has taken my Cardiology APRN position to a new level. I love his chalk talks and will continue to keep watching them. Thanks Dr. Nick!
This was a really comprehensive course with great examples. It was well taught and easy to follow. Would highly recommend.
I enjoyed this course as Dr Nick really dives deep into the ins and outs of electrophysiology and reading ECGs! The material is complex but he explains it with the basics and builds off of that to help you learn how to read ECGs. I appreciated the photos and drawings as well that were associated with the lectures. Would highly recommend!
Dr. Tullo is an expert in his field and a great teacher and communicator. I started out with a very BASIC knowledge of ECG and now after attending his lectures, I am very comfortable in reading ECGs. He is passionate about what he does. Anyone interested in learning ECG, must attend his lectures. R Khan M.D.
Very thorough and easy to understand instructions.
The course was awesome! I really enjoyed it and appreciated the detailed explanations throughout every lesson and Chalk Talk. I finally feel like I understand the physiology well enough to comprehend what is actually happening in my patients when I order an ECG; it has really boosted by competency and confidence!
For Ed, icu, or tele nurses who work with ekg's, who want to excel their ecg to the next level; I highly advise ecg academy. I thought I was confident and competent in my ability reading ekg as an ed rn and tele rn after 15 years of experience. I was wrong. I was humbled by the experience of how much I didn't know. It's not only pattern recognition of rhythms but how it starts and ends that most important in identifying the rhythm. Many Ekg's are not picture perfect like the ones you find in textbooks which makes it tricky. I tried many ekgs programs but it falls short which many of the strips looking picture perfect. Dr Nick who is a cardiac electrophysiologist explain the subtle finding's that often gets missed. He explains the physiology of the heart and patho-physiology of heart arrhythmias at the cellular level. One you understand these concepts, identifying rhythms is much easier; including antiarrhythmic drug and its effect on the heart. He clearly explains how pacemakers work and malfunction issue. I have a better understanding now as I was weak in this area. In addition, he teaches real case 12 lead ekg and tricky rhythms strips from his hospital. Furthermore, he spends the time to answer any questions you may have. Thank you Dr Nick. I'm grateful with the invaluable knowledge I gained. I am confident in my ability to reading rhythm strips as well as explain it to my peers. P.S. I advise anyone to take his free test! Lets see how much you know. I
Great online program to get you past basics. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to learn ECGs or become better at them
Excellent way of teaching by giving pearls and covering the common pitfalls the practitionar would frequently fall into. It's also accompained by many examples and Chalktalks which refine one's understanding giving him more expierence and more confidence in his job and practice. The most attractive thing about the whole course is that when there is a complicated ECG reading where two or more pathology overlap giving a complex atypical pattern, in this case, Dr Nic explains the changes and interactions between pathologies using an illustration by drawing the heart, demonstrating the pathophysiology and explaining how does this shape the ECG waves we see on the ECG strip and that's exactly what makes it different.
Great Professor!! I never learned so much in all my ecg learning IN MY LIFE!!! He's the best explained and I'm so lucky to have had Dr. Tullo as a professor!!!
It was a good course, with lots of information that they don’t even go over in a graduate-level EKG interpretation course.
Even as a CCU / Cardiothoracic ICU RN with over 20 years experience, I still had a lot to learn from Dr. Nick at ECG Academy. It was as if I had a personal apprenticeship with an EP specialist.
easy to use, excellent teaching
Really a great site. I use it to refresh my knowledge continuously. I have been reading Ekg’s for such a long time still find some pearls that are really worth remembering. Also new data is continuously being added. kudos to Dr Matu
Concise and practical.

Jan 28,2024It was a great course if you're trying to learn ecg and work in the medical field to begin to work confidently in the hospital, he breaks it down to were anyone can understand and identify basic and advanced electro cardiology rhythms i really appreciate Dr. Nick in helping me on my new career journey.
