I received the bike (on 03/15/2024) and was unable to remove bolts for either the left or right pedals to connect these to the frame of the bike, making the bike (currently) unusable. A customer service representative informed me that the pedals were “likely defective” and two new pedals will be shipped to me which I should anticipate receiving within two weeks (10 business days). Not the end of the world, however, I have a brand new bike that is currently unusable, and estimated to be so for another period of time. Updated Review (from two to four stars): I received the new pedals in (6) days and was successfully able to install these. Echelon support has contacted me and addressed my concerns.
I signed up for live classes. Last Tuesday an Encore. Sunday an Encore, Tuesday an Encore and looking ahead Sunday an Encore again. This is unacceptable. I belong to a gym too so I am spending less time at home which I really do not want to do on Sundays
Horrible customer service regarding to the membership. My membership was canceled, and marked as such in the member portal, but the membership did renew anyways on my credit card. When contacting them, and even escalating the refund request, I got a "We regret to inform you that we are unable to process a refund as you did not reach out to us within the 48-hour timeframe following the renewal." Even with a screenshot showing the membership being canceled, they didn't blink an eye. I have to open a chargeback request with my credit card company. What a pain...
I purchased a bike from Echelon in September last year. Since that time we have had to contact support in an attempt to resolve a constant squeaking noise. The first visit blamed ‘alignment’ of the belt, the second visit blamed a loose pedal (!) and today exactly the same issue. Genuinely wish we had paid the extra to go for a more reputable brand.
If I could leave a negative number I would! Horrible customer service!! Ordered 2 bikes mid December. When we finally received one bike mid January box was trashed Echelon said it should be fine. We had to fight to get the second bike which finally came in Feb We paid 300.00 for each bike (600.00) for delivery and set up. Delivery was supposed to be signature upon delivery that did not happen. We moved each bike into the garage (when we realized each was delivered with no signature) the bikes are still sitting in the garage waiting for Echelon to set up service to get them put together and rideable. Again $600.00 for nothing. PLEASE DON'T BUY BIKES FROM THIS COMPANY!!
They will try and steal your money. Although the app says "cancel anytime" you cannot. You have to go through customer service, during business hours, and they will charge you for 12 months and make a refund near impossible. You should not have to sign up for an annual program just to use the damn bike. It's modern day fraud and theft. I would not recommend them. Go get a different bike literally anywhere else.
I purchased a treadmill from them and it smells like the wires are burning when used more than 30 minutes. I reached out within the 1 year warranty and we’re going on 2 months now and they say they haven’t heard back from their escalation team about a replacement. I’ve asked for a manager and they say one will call me back (it’s been 2 weeks and no call). Buyer beware!
Never worked out of the box.i purchased an Ex-5. I didn't care for the screen and any of their classes. However I needed to download the app on order to get the freewheel to release so there would be less tension/ resistance while pedaling. I spoke with great customer service reps however we weren't able to get the bike to recognize the app in order to solve the issue. One would expect the bike to work out of the box. I'm bitterly disappointed in the company and I wouldn't suggest purchasing this bike to anyone.
Still within warranty, my Flexbike Ultra developed a hammering noise, which grew louder and more consistent with use. I messaged them asking for help troubleshooting and ways to fix it, and they asked for a video and explanation. So I sent them a video clip demonstrating the issue. The next day they sent me an email saying that this case was closed! I emailed again, requesting help to fix this; they then stated that I would be hearing from "technical support" in 24-72 hours. I heard nothing. I called again, requesting a supervisor/manager and spoke to somebody in Bulgaria who said they would escalate this case. This went on for 8 weeks. They obviously have no intention of helping the customer, but instead they either ignore your calls/emails or repeat what they already said over & over, hoping that the customer just gets fed up and disappears. The email I received today states that they do not currently have the part I would need (which part would that be...nobody has told me?) but they're offering me 15% discount if I buy a new bike, even with mine still under their "warranty". Plus, I would be roped into an annual FitnessPass subscription, which renews every month. It's obvious that this lying cheating company called Echelon/Fitnation does not honor their so-called warranty. Buyer beware.
Terrible customer service. Friendly, yes. Helpful or effective, absolutely not! I have 3 different scenarios - 2 the wrong equipment sent. And one they illegally charged me for equipment they have not even started selling or is in inventory. They charged me Dec. 31 and Jan. 8, told me they didn't have it, and planned to send it "sometime in Feb." First time I learned the equipment I ordered had not even been released. The rower I liked, but not enough to have no support when needed. I definitely think everyone should stay away from Echelon.
I hear too many fake reviews here from people who just get upset over nothing. I just read most of them are people who want everything to be fixed right away. I guess most of you people never had new technology such as subscriptions etc.. crazy
I honestly can't believe they released the app and bike with the amount of issues it has. I essentially have a paperweight that doesn't work because the app is garbage.
Echelon has the WORST customer service ever. I purchased by treadmill and bike in February of 2023 within the first hour of using my treadmill there were issues. When I reached out to customer service they required photos, videos and a lengthy paragraph describing the situation before offering to replace 2 parts on the treadmill that would "hopefully" fix the issue. To my better judgement I accepted this offer as they told me that my warranty extended for a full year and if the issue continued to persist they would replace or I had the option to return for a full refund. Unfortunately I experienced the same issue on and off for months after replacing both parts that they sent me (both of which I also had to replace on my own as they do NOT send a tech out to help). in November of 2023 I contacted customer service again as the issue had gotten worse and other issues started to arise. At the time of the issue I was running on my treadmill and fell, hurting myself because of the issue at hand. When I contacted customer service about the issue they again required all of the above stated needs and again offered only to replace the same parts as they'd already replaced; having no concern that the issue had persisted or that I had gotten hurt while the issue happened. When I told Echelon that that was not an acceptable answer to the problem I'd been experiencing since purchasing the treadmill, they told me they would send my claim up to "management" and get back to me. In December, after checking in with Echelon sometimes twice a week on a solution to the problem I called their customer service line and finally spoke to someone (up until then, all communication had been through their online chat). The customer service rep that I spoke with was very kind and assured me that I would have shipping information by Monday (the Monday before Christmas) as he could see from my file (past photos, communication, videos, etc.) that a replacement was warranted. As of TODAY (January 9th, 2024) Echelon has still NOT followed through on their promises but instead passed me from online tech to online tech telling me that they can "see my claim but not progress has been made on replacing my treadmill that is STILL under their warranty." I DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING ANYTHING FROM ECHELON! While their pricing is less than some of their competitors, they equipment is reflective of poor craftsman ship and ability to work. They're customer service is also absolutely horrible and I do believe it is their goal to take money in from their consumer but not fill the promises and warranty they themselves as the maker of the equipment sets forth.
The device is nothing special. Any 100 dollar rower on amazon is equivalent to this. Note that it works without using Echelon service but they build there device and service to screw you. As you dont have a UI on this machine without personal device you rely on your phone or tablet. To use the app to show basic function like time, resistance, reps (You know the basic stuff that everything should share) you have to have an echelon account. This account requires a subscription which is 40 US dollars a month of 400 US dollars a year. So if you are looking for equipment that is not special for a lot more money and intense yearly service fee then this is your buy. However, if you want to do the exact same thing without the ties use literally any other device. FYI the machine is made expecting you to have a device. So even if you choose to just guess the resistance level by feel and use your own services to track the stupid thing keeps blinking in connectivity mode. Absolutely the worst purchase I have made. I feel sorry for those that buy completely new and pay full price. Dont trust amazon 5* reviews as they are often fillers. Make sure to look at both 5* and 1* to get accurate feel. This device is beyond awful. Then I got a call from them trying to keep me on so they could make money for nothing and the individual on the phone couldn't even talk. Spent 5 minutes just trying to say he was sorry I didn't like the useless service. Literal garbage service. Okay product. But the cost and use cases are so bad it's worthless.
This app sucks with the recent changes to their music service. Cadence is off, playlist does not show, the music described is not what gets played. The product is expensive, plus the fees for the subscription. I feel taken advantage of.
I received my “Stair Climber” a few days ago and I can honestly say I have never been more disappointed in a piece of exercise equipment in my life. So disappointed that I am already sending it back. Here’s my review: 1. It comes pretty much assembled, all you have to do is pull it out of the box and set it up and add the display to it. But don’t expect batteries for the display, they don’t come with it like most manufacturers include, so have them handy. This is the ONLY plus I can see with this machine is that it does come pre-assembled. 2. I don’t understand why they are calling it a Stair Climber, it is essentially an archaic elliptical machine. The motion is simply up and down, like an elliptical, you never move your feet off the pedals, they are stationary the entire time, it is NOT a stair climber. I kinda thought that when I purchased it but wanted to see how it worked when I actually got it, thinking maybe I was missing something from just watching the 30-second video. I wasn’t. It’s an elliptical in disguise and a cheap one at that. Are they calling it a stair climber because it is designed kinda like stairs? It's a mystery. 3. The display sucks, no way around it. It’s not even backlit. I mean come on Echelon, do better. How many pieces of equipment have you produced? A bunch, and you come up with THAT display?? It’s archaic and not impressive and really not useful. 4. The Bluetooth option does not work AT ALL. I was never able to connect my device via Bluetooth and after talking to customer support there is absolutely no reason to do it anyway, development is still working on getting stair climber content out so there is nothing to connect to anyway. I had to press to even find out how to get Bluetooth to connect, I mean it was like pulling teeth to get an answer, and that’s when they finally admitted that content doesn’t even exist yet and there is nothing to connect to. I’m a tech geek, I do tech stuff for a living, I am not stupid, so I knew there was something not right when I couldn’t even connect via Bluetooth. The instructions in the manual (which is also useless) they have say to press the up and down arrows at the same time that are on the display to turn on Bluetooth. I tried this in every way, shape, and form I could think of but still no bueno, it’s not that hard to connect a Bluetooth device so come on.. Basically, they are not ready for prime time yet but they are selling it like they are anyway. I’m pretty sure even my dogs could figure out how to use Bluetooth and see right through this… 5. You cannot record your workouts to fitbit, apple health, myfitness pal, any of those, automatically like the other equipment does it. Well, I am assuming that it’s all equipment, my stride-s records my workouts through the app. So, even if you work out the only place it’s recorded is on the crappy display they have; you have to manually log it if you want it recorded. That’s more of an annoyance than anything to me; with today’s technology that should be a no-brainer as far as recording workouts goes. 6. Working out on it is clunky and if you are tall you may have a problem with the stride length and hitting the bottom of the machine. I am 5’7” and have a longer stride length and it was a problem for me. It’s nice that you have different inclines and things like that but you have to do that manually, there is absolutely nothing automatic on the machine for that. You also have to manually adjust your tension, to me this machine is taking a huge step BACK in workout and fitness equipment. 7. Folding it up is kind of a pain and when you do it only lays flat, it would be nice if it set up straight as well. 8. The user guide/manual is useless. I don’t’ know who writes it but there’s very little information in there that is helpful. So on a scale of 0 to 5, 0 being the worst, I would give it a 1 at best. This is NOT a stair climber, in my opinion, it is a way scaled-down WAY overpriced elliptical and I’m sending it back. Don’t waste your money. Echelon you should be ashamed of yourself. Not only for selling a terrible machine but for putting a price tag of $799 on it. Who are you kidding?? I would never pay full price for that and even the $300 I did pay was overpriced for sure. It’s back in the box and ready to go back next week. I want to add, that I have had my Echelon Stride-S treadmill for over a year now and LOVE it, besides the Bluetooth connection being non-existent and a few minor things, it is a great treadmill, but the Stair Climber, not so much...
Stopped using the bike for a bit due to injury. Just logged on and the interface is all different. I was trying to find the old classes I liked and they are all gone. Looks like they changed something about their music provider and maybe that's why a lot of previous instructor classes are gone. Very little choices on classes and instructors. I tried one of the classes left and canceled in middle of class. Looks like the issue might be they couldn't keep the popular instructors (maybe money issues). So if you are giving customers less content why not lower your price of membership.
Somehow they screwed up the music so I can't hear anymore and some class history is lost. Just one update after another but nothing seems to get better. I have a year plus left on the subscription but looking for something different that I can play on the monitor. It is a bit of a rip off, in that you buy the hardware but can't use a decent app.
I love Echelon. I have the bike, stride, and row. I use app for all 3 plus fitpass. They are great!!!!!

Mar 19,2024subscription is a scam with no ways to cancel. I clearly canceled my subscription on the website yet still got charged with $400 annual membership. Tried contact them and all communication went into a unresponsive blackhole.
