went smoothly
Great job recovering bent Zip drive . Timely and courteous service . I’d surely recommend them.
Very fast service. I lost my hard drive the day before I was leaving to travel out of country. I called them, got my shipping label within minutes, shipped the drive, and received a call the very next day that they had received it - and had already reviewed the data on it. I couldn't access the list they sent on my phone, so they talked me through the files so I could make a decision on whether to pay for the restoration. I returned home a week later with my data waiting on me. Very personalized, attentive service. They even called about 6 weeks later to ensure all the data had restored properly.
Great Experience, Very patient Sales reps that reply swiftly
Very easy to work with and we got all of our data back at a good price.
efficient, professional, and everything seems to work
This is the company to pick. I tried three other companies, they all told me my files were corrupt beyond saving. Fields data recovery was actually able to do it. I tried a company in the west coast, a company mid west, and a company in the south. None were able to recovery my pictures or home videos. Fields did it quickly and returned all my files within the week. Pick then, they can actually do it.
Very satisfied, all work done as promised.
Even though the price wasn’t what I was expecting, the job was done fairly quick and efficiently.
Fast service, even included a hard drive for the retrieved data.
Great company, fast turnaround, they saved my sons baby pictures from being lost forever. Thankful for these guys!
Great service
This companythis company uses a bait-and-switch technique that is more based on sales than technical expertise. I know for a fact that they have meetings where they are told how to hook a customer and get them to send there Drive-In very easily, if not too easily! Once they have your drive they have you :-) if you change your mind they will say they've already taken your drive apart, they've lost your drive, or you will have to wait 3 to 5 weeks. I fought for them for a month to get my drive back. OnTrack data recovery got my data back within 5 days and treated me like a king. DO NOT DEAL WITH FIELDS DATA RECOVERY
I sent both a SD card and a hard drive into them and BOTH times was the exact same cost, which I didn't do either one because it was outrageous and seems very odd to me that it would be the same price no matter what. They wanted $400 up front that was non-refundable for non-guaranteed results and an additional $400 for the data IF they recovered data to get the data back, which THEY said they only have a 70% recovery rate according to their quote. Then they stop responding to emails when I told them I didn't want to pay the money for the service, they are rude on the phone when trying to find out where the drive is, and they take OVER a month to finally send back your drive!
I don't know why people are hating... My account manager, Joe Mruzik was SO HELPFUL!! I was terrified after my external hard drive all of a sudden stopped working. I thought I lost all my music and all my pictures. From the moment I sent in my hard drive I was kept up to date about the process which made me freak out a lot less. Joe was super helpful, super knowledgeable, took time out of his day to put all my worries at ease. If I ever have to worry about recovering my data again, Joe is my go to guy!!
They somehow have great reviews listed on their website, but you should check other review sources for the truth. Here's my experience own experience: Synopsis: I accidentally sent them a working external hard drive instead of a broken one, and they quoted me $940 to "fix" it. Then after the headache that followed, they finally returned it to me... in multiple pieces. Details: I had a hard drive that had dropped onto the floor, and wasn't reading in my computer. I had a second identical drive as a backup, but I had lazily forgotten to back it up since the start of 2017. I currently live overseas, and was quoted $1500usd for data recovery in Hong Kong for my broken drive. I thought I would check for a better rate while I was home in the US in early April. I contacted Fields Data Recovery by phone and explained the situation. The sales person was (of course) extremely pleasant and helpful. He said that he was confident they could do the recovery for cheaper, starting as low as $400, and that they could get the replacement drive back to me within two weeks (before I returned to Hong Kong). There would be a free diagnosis, followed by a price quote, and then I would decide whether to move forward with data recovery for that price. That was fairly identical to my experience with the Hong Kong company. I sent it in same-day, and quickly received email confirmation of the drive's delivery. Soon after that, I was provide with some vague diagnostic about firmware and a price for retrieval of $940. The first thing I thought was that diagnosis description was very vague and not much like the one I had received from the Hong Kong company. Second, the price seemed a bit higher than the sales call had led me to believe, but cheaper than the Hong Kong quote, and I thought maybe that was on purpose, and I shouldn't have told them what I was quoted originally, but that's business. Then I reviewed the list of recovered files, and I immediately realized that I had sent them the wrong hard drive -- it had all of the files up through 2016 but nothing after. I quickly called my husband to test the other drive and he confirmed what I thought: instead of the broken one, I had accidentally sent in the working (backup) hard drive. This was my mistake. But in making this mistake, I realized that they were willing to charge me almost $1000 to "fix" a working hard drive. It made me wonder if they do this to other people, who might not realize they are being grossly overcharged. What followed turned into a bit of a nightmare. I immediately contacted my Account Manager, and explained that I had sent in the wrong drive, that the drive they had was in fine working order, and I needed that drive returned. I asked him to please let me know if there would be any issues returning the drive before my departure date. He replied that it would take a few weeks to get the drive into my hands. (This was different then what I was told originally). After that, he became very non-responsive, unhelpful, and dismissive. At one point, he offered to do the data recovery for $400 instead of $940. I declined, reminding him that the drive they had worked fine, so there was no need for recovery services, and I asked him to confirm that I would receive the drive in the same condition it arrived in (which is what I experienced with the Hong Kong company). It ended up being two months, a few dozen emails and more than a few headaches before the drives were finally delivered to a family member in the US. When the package was opened, the "working" hard drive I sent them on mistake was in multiple pieces. This is when I found all of the horror stories online -- not only from the US but from their "branches" in the UK, Germany, and more. I should have researched the company better, and I probably would have under usual circumstances. I was lucky, in a way, because I didn't lose any money, but now I have one broken hard drive, another possibly broken one, and a decade's worth of precious data, memories, photos and work possibly lost forever. I'm surprise that a company like this exists in America today, and I hope this review will keep someone from being hurt by it.
They might be technically competent but logistics are poor. I'll skip the details as my experience is much like everyone else. Bottom line, it took 2 full months from when they received my drive until I received it back. They quoted $500 up front to buy an identical drive for parts, then $300 to perhaps retrieve data. I declined. Be advised: If you call them, they will send a prepaid shipping label to send in your drive. You have 28 days from when they receive your drive to request it be returned. If you pay for them to retrieve your data you have already agreed that you are completely satisfied with their service.
I packaged and sent a flash drive along with a new flash drive to be returned with recovered data. Fields acknowledged receipt and implied they would advise an update within two days. Two weeks later having heard nothing I called, several times, each time receiving a promise to call back which never happened. About 18 days after sending I spoke to a tech who said they were about 80% or so done. Another two weeks and unanswered calls resulted in being told they never received a damaged drive, only the new one. No explanation on why they didn't advise when the received package but sent email implying they had it. After several attempts thru BBB still get the same story. They do not appear to be a responsible company and care not at all about customer service. They also do not appear to be truthful. You are strongly encouraged to take your business elsewhere.
Beware: This company is the same as Fields Data Recovery UK and their US website points to the UK Trust pilot account with false positive reviews. Two months ago I had one of the worst things happen. A failed hard drive. One that contained my entire music collection and photos from the past 15 years. All gone. I searched the web for data recovery services and happened to do the online estimate at Field Data Recovery. I was called by them later in the day about sending in my drive and I would know within 24-48 hours if they could retrieve my files from the drive. I never heard from them. I called and was told they were close and I should hear something within 24-48 hours from them. Still I never heard back from them. I figured they were working on it and gave them a week and called back. Once again they had no details and I was told I would hear from them in 24-48 hours. Never heard from them. I let another week pass and called again. I got the exact same response as I got the first two times. Yet again after the 24-48 I heard nothing. I gave them another week and called again. This time the person in charge of my drive was unavailable (in a meeting). The person answering the phones kept interrupting and cutting me off (I guess she did not want to hear me complain as I am sure they get a lot of that, but seriously how rude). I finally was able to ask to speak with a manager and he came on the phone, apologized, told me a little more about the condition of the drive and then once again told me I would hear something from them in 24-48 (it has been 24 hours and I don't believe that I will hear back from them tomorrow). Everything I have read about this company is telling me that they pull this crap and keep your files hostage so you pay exorbitant prices once they finally get back to you. Don't listen to them when they say 24-48 hours, as this is apparently 4 plus weeks for these guys. I have no confidence in this company to live up to any of their promises made on their site or on the phone. With the way they treated me and handled my case I would never, ever recommend that anyone use their services. Period. Go somewhere else. UPDATE: They are trying to have this review removed even though their own site points to these reviews. Try running an honest company showing honest reviews like this one. Apparently the UK and US are indeed the same company that is now trying to pull this crap off in Europe and Asia. The TrustPilot reviews on their website and facebook pages are false. Beware. After being jerked around for over a month I finally hear back and they are asking for $820. Not happening. I can't afford it and even if I could I would NOT give them any money with the way they treated me. I have asked to have my drive returned to me. But after reading more reviews (not associated with their bogus TrustPilot account) I feel I will never get the drive back either. Stay away from these people in all countries. Google them if you don't believe me. Wish I had done more research before trusting in TrustPilot and going down this road.

Aug 07,2018We lost an entire CF card of images from a corporate photoshoot that could not be reshot. Recuva and several other software solutions could not retrieve the files, so we turned to Fields Data Recovery. I am happy to report the customer service was excellent, turn-around time was lightning quick and we received a 100% recovery. Definitely saved our marketing campaign!
