Jun 30,2021This is the second time we rented from 5 STAR and the first time we had a great experience at a different location. This recent property was very disappointing. The unit did not feel clean, kitchen counter tops were sticky, the master shower had black spots on the tile, the carpet had stains in both bedrooms, a kitchen chair was broken and a chair on the balcony was also broken and could not be used. In addition the review that was on line was not for the unit we stayed in. The pics corresponded with 1407 but the reviews were for a unit that had stairs and could accommodate a large party. Very misleading!!!

Jun 24,2021Without looking back at years of vacation files, I can’t say for sure how many times we have rented from Five Star Properties, maybe for ten years, and maybe more. We have always received excellent service, enjoyed the amenities of beautiful vacation homes and will definitely rent from Five Star again! Five Star has an amazing assortment of executive vacation homes that far exceed what we have found through other rental companies. Jun 21,2021The house was perfect for 20 people & only a short distance from the beach, but set back away from it all. We relaxed in the pool in the morning while the sun was there & then hit the beach in the afternoon. Beach access was great & we always found a spot. We enjoyed using the comfy beach chairs & the bikes that were provided with the property. It was hard to tell in the VRBO room description, but there is a twin bunk bed up on the second floor master suite. Our only complaints would be that whoever claims the bedroom on the main floor off the kitchen either needs to be a heavy sleeper or likes to stay up late & get up early. Sound travels easily from the kitchen & the family room to that bedroom so when our 19 year old boys stayed up late playing poker, so did the people sleeping in that room. And when the breakfast club got up & started using the kitchen, it typically woke them up as well. Also, the king bedroom closest to the pool on the ground floor does not have a closet or an ensuite bathroom so we had to share closets & bathrooms. It worked out ok, but could be a little inconvenient. The pool did get dirty after a full week of use & there were a few awkward boards on the pool deck that you have to get used to so you don’t trip over them. The access to the pool from all decks was very convenient. Lastly, the refrigerator is huge, but there is not a lot of refrigerator space for 20 people. We had to keep most of our drinks in coolers so we could fit our food in the fridge. We did make meals almost every night though so we had a lot of food in there. We had a few glitches during our stay, but Five Star always sent someone to resolve them. All in all, we had a great time at The Great Escape!

Jun 20,2021Coconut Cove is a good property, in good condition overall. Appliances (refrigerator freezer) have some broken shelves. Still usable and adequate. Icemaker was messed up but they had a separate freezer to use for purchased ice or whatever you needed to put in it. The pool was great, cleaned twice during the week. East facing house had pool shaded by 4pm. We had 10 kids, 8 and under so shade came pretty quickly after nap time, no sunburns! Company is good to work with. Would stay at their properties in the future including this one. BTW, check in is 4pm not any earlier. Made arrangements the first day a bit challenging but it understandable with a short turn between guests.

We love Casa Lontano and this property is always spotless. The extra attention with COVID precautions was very appreciated. We will continue to use Five Star and Bliss Beach Rentals. The staff is very professional and helpful.

Jun 17,2021On the plus side, the house was perfect for our family’s needs. The pool and spa were especially nice. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, cookware, etc. When we called Five Star Properties with issues, they were polite and responsive and sent maintenance folks out quickly. Overall we enjoyed ourselves in the home. The reason for the lower stars is that many of the issues should not have been there in the first place. Several of the bathroom sinks drained incredibly slowly, and had to be cleared by the maintenance service. The cleaning service should have noticed this and addressed it prior to our arrival. The upstairs dryer didn’t heat; when the maintenance service came, he said it was completely clogged, and after an hour or so of loudly clearing out the dryer itself, he said he couldn’t resolve the issue because the outside vent was completely clogged. He also said this had been reported the prior week. Again, should have been resolved prior to our arrival. The Check-in instructions mentioned that the refrigerator might look like it was leaking but it was only ice cubes falling on the floor. The leak was more like a puddle at times, obviously not an ice cube. We actually saw a mushroom growing underneath the refrigerator (picture available). Overall the house was clean, but the floors were filthy. Socks and/or feet became black quickly. In general, it did not feel like anyone was actually managing the property proactively, just responding to calls. For the amount of money being charged, we expected to walk into a clean, fully functioning environment, which was not the case.

Jun 17,2021There were a few serious problems that affected our stay. The promised beach chairs and umbrellas were to be provided by a company that did not even have a contract for the beach we were on. It required a phone call nearly every morning to either Five Star Properties or Holiday Isles to get our chairs and umbrellas provided. The dangerous leak in the ceiling of the kitchen nearly caused a family member a serious injury because the unexpected and large amount of water on the floor made it very slippery. Then, preparing dinner that evening was made quite difficult with the ceiling dripping and towels on the floor to soak up the water. Then the leaking ceiling in the queen bedroom soaked clothing and the bedding and the floor so much that the bed had to be stripped down to the mattress and bedding had to be laundered and then put back on the bed before she could finally get to sleep. She had to rearrange the furniture, placing a night stand into the closet to move the bed from below the ceiling light fixture where the water was dripping. It was difficult to sleep not knowing if the electrical wiring was safe due to the water. The blinds in the bedrooms are inadequate to provide a dark room for sleeping. It felt like lights were shining in from everywhere. The dishwasher did not work. It finally was repaired near the end of our stay after having to rewash - by hand - nearly every load. The repairman told us the plates provided in the rental were too large for the machine to work properly.

Jun 17,2021We where there from Saturday to Saturday.. First night we arrived it's was stupid Hot on the second Floor, come to find out the next day that the AC was broken. We didn't the AC fixed till Thursday afternoon! They did bring 3 portable AC to put in each room but they didn't cool off the bathrooms or the WIC.. then we needed to use the washer and that was broken from the biggining as well.. the bender never maid it.. no washer for the entire week.. towels and bathing suites needed to be washed! They offered to pick up our cloths and wash it once!! It was not a true Vacation when I was stressing the entire week about stuff not working. The house it's self it's beautiful but when things break down its not so preaty!!

Jun 17,2021We recently stayed a week at costa Del Mar. It was absolutely amazing. It is exactly 60 steps to the beach!!! It was clean, beds comfortable and we had no issues at all! I will be back next year!!

Jun 17,2021Emerald Belle is a beautiful house on a wonderful beach. We had a great week. I had to reduce the review from 5 Stars to 4 Stars for these reasons. 1. The Washer and Dryer. The washer only ran on Hot Water and it did not cycle on its own. Someone had to manually click the dial to Rinse. Quite a pain. We notified Five Star Properties on Day 2 and never got a response. 2. The Gas Grill was out of propane and when it was replaced (Day 3) the burners didn't heat to temperature. (Needed cleaning was our guess) These are two important elements when you're paying a premium price for this property. Five Star Properties was outstanding pre arrival. Good communication with us. Once there I would have appreciated more timely communication. All other aspects of our stay at Emerald Belle were exceptional.

Jun 17,2021My bigest problem was at check in at the house. I know check in time was 4PM but the check in email said if the house was released early that I would get a call directly. No call and we know the house was released way befor 4pm. We were there waiting in the drive with 7 small childern on a very busy street. I was told they would call me with the house code and I called them 3 times and when I got the code it did not work. Had to call again and we finally got access to the house at 4:20. At 3:50 called again and got the code and the girl I talked to told me we could not enter the hous till 4:00lPM. Started off in a bad mood to what shoud be a great vacation.

Jun 17,2021We have rented houses for years from Five Star Properties and this is one of the BEST houses we’ve stayed in by far. Clean & spacious with plenty of dishes!!! We will definitely be renting this one again.

Jun 17,2021We rented this beach home for 7 days for our annual Summer trip to the Destin area. This home is in a secluded location in a gated community with a pretty decent ocean view. A very beautiful, private beach was only a few minutes drive away. Unfortunately, we found this rental to be in need of many repairs and a good deep cleaning. The couches were very dirty with black stains on the cushions and there were dead bugs laying in the floor. The tile floor in the master bedroom is missing lots of grout and is continuously losing more with each step. Tiles are making cracking and popping noises with each step. Twice we had to pull sharp pieces of grout from our feet. The headboard needs to be secured to the wall because every movement causes it to bang into the wall. This house is older and dated so these things are inevitable BUT this is clearly noticeable if someone is actually inspecting the property or properly cleaning it. The master bathroom has baseboards with water damage, peeling paint and black spots. Bedrooms have doors that are cracked, missing finish and peeling. The twin bed bedroom door does not close correctly. The bunk beds downstairs did not have a ladder to climb up into the top bunk. The fridge in that unit had what look like rust stains on the front and did not cool properly. The outdoor area is fantastic, but is in need of pressure washing and painting. There is also a hazard near the sliding doors that several people tripped over the uneven section. I take no pleasure in leaving a poor or negative, but I think for the price point that this unit is being rented at that these repair are inexcusable. We certainly would not have paid what we did had we been aware of these issues. We come to Destin every year and we have not encountered issues like this before this was also our first time renting with FiveStar. On a positive note, the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, pots, pans, etc.. the stove and microwave are new and worked great. The air conditioner cooled the house adequately. There were even box fans in the closets to use as well. The tv in the living room and master bedroom were nice and large and worked great. The kids were able to use the Wi𝔣i and they also enjoyed the foosball table. This rental does not have trash pickup. You have to drive your trash down the road to the dumpster on Monday and Thursday. On Monday the dumpster was full as they put a sign up on it NOT to put anymore trash in. I called the management company and they took care of it right away by having maintenance come and get our trash from the outside cans and take away. At the end of the day We would not rent this property again or recommend. This home has huge potential and with a few fixes can be worth the price being asked. I hope these things are checked out and can be repaired. I also have photos of the things I stated above if the property management would like to see.

Jul 03,2021OUR STAY WAS PERFECT AND FIVE STAR SAW TO OUR EVERY NEEDS. THEY HAD ALL THE ROOMS SANITIZED AND THE HOUSE WAS VERY CLEAN. ANYTIME WE HAD TO REPLACE A PRODUCT , THEY WERE QUICK TO SEE TO OUR NEEDS.
