Geobear is an international ground engineering organisation that provides subsidence solutions and treatment for ground that is experiencing subsidence or instability. Whether under a home, commercial property or major infrastructure, Geobear’s fast, cost-effective and innovative solutions stabilises the ground, fill voids and lift slabs with barely any disruption. Having carried out over 200,000 successful projects in the UK and abroad, Geobear is a trusted partner for industry and homeowners alike.
Behind everything that Geobear does is the goal of driving the transition to socially responsible ground improvement. Our values of professionalism, customer first and zero harm mean that we strive to provide our customers with the most convenient, reliable and cost-effective solution whilst minimising any negative impacts to people or the environment.
We do this with our unique, proprietary Geobear solution. Our experts drill small holes in the ground, through which an expanding geopolymer resin is injected. Once underground, the resin follows the path of least resistance and expands to fill all voids and compact the soil, gradually lifting the ground above. This process is carefully monitored with lasers to ensure absolute precision. The whole process can be carried out in just a matter of hours.
Jon was the person who contacted me, then he talked me through how to use the video calling, he came across very knowledgeable and professional and really helpful and honesty which was very nice. I felt he had told me everything about the process of the work involved, I was very impressed.
We had initially seen the work that Geobear do in a TV programme and contacted them soon afterwards as we were considering getting underpinning done to rectify some subsidence in the side of the house. At the initial phone call with Michael he had all the information about soil types and the position of the house etc (in fact it was just as detailed as the surveyor’s report. We did insist that someone came to view the issue before we commenced, just to give us reassurance and they were happy to do that. This week 3 guys came to do the work (Damiano, Mikel and Ray) and they couldn’t have been more professional. They explained each step with us and caused us the minimum amount of disruption. We were very happy with the work and the results seem to be very good.
I felt safe with knowledge that the site visit and follow up information all in all a great service was given and peace of mind.
The person who did my video call was informed, professional and really helpful. The honesty was the best thing about it. I felt he told me the truth and gave solid understandable reasons for the proposed outcome - very impressed.
This company is specialised in structural issues and they don't even bother to physically come and check. They're is a video call and assessment is done thr that. Not sure how much they could see and how much assessment is done but I was asked to get a drain survey and it is costing about £500 plus taxes. Seriously is that all you could do? Could you not even come down physically verify the issues? People calling you for structal issues mean they're are some concerns and these carrot be looked thr Viday call for god sake. Thx Raj
Great communication with the regional manager and office, every part off the job have been handled in very professional manor. Very happy with the service.
Very im pleased with the underpinning that we have had done by geobear. It would had been a very difficult job to dig out the concrete around the brick walls, which would had ment me using a jackhammer to brake up the concrete floor in six different room to poor a concrete pad to underpin both walls. Also by using geobear method to do the underpinning, save the risk of breaking pipes that are under the floor. This took roughly two hours for geobear to do this for me & did not create to much dust.
Process was fully explained, prompt service and follow up. Would recommend.
I have just completed a video consultation and review of a cracks in a wall of an outhouse with Raz from Geobear. We concluded at the end of the call that the cracks at this stage do not warrant geopolymer injection, rather tying external and internal walls together and some resin/mortar repairs to the brick work. Very clear advice and absolutely no hard sell and completely honest about solutions that avoid the need for polymer injections at this stage.
I recently had a consultation with Raz regarding a potential subsidence issue in our house. Raz's strong view (indicated at the end of the consultation) was that we did not have a subsidence issue but he was going to get another expert opinion - he did this within a couple of hours. Given Geobear's revenue is driven by actually providing remediation works for these type of issues, I was impressed with his transparency and willingness to go above and beyond. Raz was friendly and thorough throughout the meeting. It provides me comfort that not all companies use free consultations to aggressively market their products - I would encourage anyone who has similar worries to speak with Geobear and take any proposed remediation works seriously!
I had an excellent experience with Enda Gorman at Geobear. I was worried my house might have a potential subsidence issue. Enda reviewed the photos first and then he arranged 45 mins virtual site visit, we went through all the cracks I concerned, he patiently explained the main problem was isolated to the front porch and there is no major subsidence at the main property. He followed up with a clear summary and helpful recommendations worth doing for maintaining the house to avoid potential subsidence, even including the some professional suggestions for the porch, all free of charge. I really appreciate Enda and Geobear, I would definitely recommend Geobear if anyone is looking for a company will give professional and honest info and service for subsidence.
Very happy with the work completed. Very minimal disruption and everyone i delt with through the whole process were informative and happy to help with any questions i had.
Having never used this method of property stabilisation I was acutely aware of my lack of knowledge on the process. Paul Cowan expertly guided me through the process from start to finish. The only downside of the process was sorting the drainage issue which caused the subsidence in the first place. I was under the misguided impression that I had to use geobear’s own contractor to do the drainage repairs prior to injection. As all work has to be guaranteed I chose to go with the contractor recommended by Geobear. A failed first lining that only came to light when geobear came to inject my property and a lot of phone calls to eventually get the failed repairs done properly at a huge extra cost to myself left me with what otherwise was a very good experience with geobear themselves feeling I was overcharged by the drainage company and had no option but to pay it. I did mention this to the drainage company but it fell on deaf ears. If they had advised me to replace my clay drains with plastic I could have done it for less than a thousand pound, instead I had a £7500 bill. C’est la vie! Geobear, Paul Cowan and staff were excellent, the drainage company, well, let’s say I won’t be using them again!
The whole process was made easy and there were constant updates. The guys that did the work were very friendly and worked well.
Working with and engaging Geobear in our home project was one of the best things we did. Their knowledge, skill and reassurance from the initial contact through to completion was spot on. They were recommended by our structural engineer. In particular, Ian has kept in touch and we updated them as other remedial works were completed first so that we had the best outcomes. The whole team on the day, carried out the works with minimum fuss and mess. All was left clean and tidy. Lovely hand picked team of engineers who completed our job in 2.5 hours. First class service all the way through. Well worth the money. Thank you.
Operatives were friendly, respectful, helpful, cheerful. All seems to have gone well. Strangely the metal back door that is quite a way from where work was carried out, was a problem opening & closing after work. However it has gradually eased. Front door difficult to open & close but is wooden, so we will have to fix if it does not ease. Internal doors better than before. Would recommend.
The surveyors visited on more than one occasion as the house had complex issues, sits on clay and we have a mature oak near the house, and have had many years of "seasonal movement" . Finally could not stand filling the cracks every few months, any longer. The bore hole testing of the clay showed we needed to go down 2.8 mtrs, rather than just a metre or so, which was a shock, the cost doubling as a result. We finally committed, and the team arrived for a three day job. As the work was not near any drains we opted out of the drain monitoring to save money, I was also told I was responsible for showing the team where all the services are, such as gas pipes, water, electric. I also had to lift a wood floor in our hallway so heating pipes were visible. Monitoring of movement in both the walls and the internal floors was made a priority, by the very knowledgeable team leader Dean who kept me fully informed of the progress throughout. Everyone was very helpful discussing the problems associated with our house. The main benefit of the work is the Certificate of Structural Stability which means we can now get insurance cover for heave and subsidence, meaning the house is saleable. The company also agreed to give me a discount off the quote, simply because I asked!
Quick and easy evaluation of property and straight forward to arrange for the work to be completed. Very helpful and friendly company
Really great advice and speedy to come to a decision. John was really friendly and helpful. He was able to diagnose what he thought was wrong with my flat and provided an honest and trustworthy opinion.
