Ordered a hamper a month early as a surprise to be delivered before Christmas, to avoid any disasters. Looked like a good hamper and price was excellent. Unfortunately, it wasn’t received on the due date and I had to ask the recipient whether it was received, therefore ruining the surprise. Customer service were unable to be contacted via messenger, phone or email for two days. Now… I would have given 1 star rating but Hay Hampers have now gone above and beyond since these issues. I was contacted about my complaint just before Christmas and the hamper was delivered Christmas Eve, so before Christmas - just not expected date. After this, I was messaged to follow up to confirm everything had been resolved satisfactory. I also received a refund for the inconvenience caused. I’ve knocked off a couple of stars for the unresponsiveness at the initial time leading to stress for me just before the festive period and also because the reviews on Facebook have been removed (I know it’s to protect the company’s image, however I do feel individuals should be able to share their experiences). I did state I would not buy again from this company, but they’ve taken all the right steps since the issue and I may be encouraged to buy again. I actually just wanted to say a well done on how the issue was handled post the issue
I have been sent fraudulent emails from hampers.co.uk, they have pretended to be GOV.UK and have requested money for vehicle tax. Absolute fraudsters The email came from sales @ hampers email address This is the email Our records show that you are not up to date with your current vehicle tax. This is your last (v12) reminder from us. Your vehicle is not guaranteed to legally be on the road. If you fail to pay your road tax you may face a fine or other penalties. You must fill out the from below to be up to standard with the DVLA legal requirements. There was the a link to send them money. Absolute fraudsters
I ordered a Hays hamper for my elderly mother. I'm based in Canada, and ordered from this company last year with no issues. This year, the hamper did not arrive on the 19th when it was supposed to. I emailed, called, and emailed again, to no avail. On the 22nd I ordered her a bunch of foods from Amazon Fresh, because I couldn't risk her being without at Christmas, with no other family there to support her. On the 23rd the Hays Hamper arrived. I'm extremely unhappy to say the least, with zero communication from them I had no choice but to get a back up, and now I have paid a lot of money out. I expect nothing less than a full refund from them (which I already asked for when I ordered the other foods). Doubt I'll get it or any words from them at all. Lesson learned. Highly DON'T recommend. UPDATE: Hays Hampers have finally reached out to me (Jan 15th) with an apology, and given me a full refund, for which I am grateful. For this reason I have increased my rating to 2 stars.
What has gone wrong? Usually they deliver, what is ordered and on time, but this year after taking my money and sending one email to confirm the order (ordered on 19th to deliver on 24th December 2024), there has been nothing!, no tracking, no response to my queries, and my family has not received any hamper. So sad to see many others have the same bad experience this year. Hay Hampers, if you are reading this - please please please let us know what is happening? - either do send it (now very late, but at least my dear family would get what I have paid for) or be honest - if you can't manage to deliver, give a full refund so I can send them something another way.
I ordered 2 hampers to be delivered last week. They hadn’t arrived until today. After reading reviews I was doubtful the would arrive at all. I will say though they have both arrived before Xmas. And they are beautiful hampers I’m over the moon now they have arrived. The only fault I’d give them is the lack of communication, I get they’re over run with Xmas but that surely there bread and butter.
Last year I used Hampers.co.uk without any problems. This year such a different story. No confirmation of despatch, no tracking, no hamper, no reply from support…something has gone very wrong at Hay Hampers in December ‘24. It’s too late now for my gift to reach its destination for Christmas, I’ve apologised to the recipient. Now I need to wait until the after Christmas to see how Hay Hampers recover my confidence. Update 31/12/24 On the 24th I received tracking information but no movement, on 27th the parcel was uplifted and started its journey. The parcel has just arrived at its destination. It’s obis tough time for Hay Hampers. I imagine the vast majority get delivered to schedule but it sucks when it’s your parcel that is one of the few that falls through the cracks. Maybe they accept more orders than they can handle, you would think their systems would have a limit on how many orders can be despatched in a day and after that they are flagged as not available. Just a thought.
I recieved an email onthe 24th of december telling me they cannot deliver a hamper oredered 1 month ago! Bit Late NOW!!!! Never use this company BUYER BEWARE
One star for the efficient way they took £75 for the Merchant of Venice hamper and let me chose a delivery day. No confirmation email. No hamper. No email. Phone line not working. SCAM!! BEWARE!!
Hamper still not received No answer on chat, telephone, emails or facebook. I was told this would be delivered on 19th December and now its 23rd and still shows as processing. Would not recommend!!!
Update on my previous review. I managed to get hold of the parent company and rang them. Later someone tried to call me (I missed the call) on the 23rd, to tell me the hamper would be delivered the following day, which it was. Just in the nick of time. But nevertheless 5 days (3 working days) after the date it was supposed to arrive.
It sucks having to give this one star. Placed order a few weeks ago so it would be ready and deliveried for the 20th. I was meant to receive as email when this was dispatched. I didn't. I spent most of my Friday trying to get through to someone to let me know what's going on. On answer! No hamper!
Like other people, ordered and then heard nothing. Order still "pending" and they won't answer emails.
Do not use this company. Ordered hamper for a Xmas present in October, hasn’t been delivered and can’t get hold of anyone via call, text, chat or email. They have taken my money though. Horrendous.
Took a risk this year and didn’t use John Lewis ! Big mistake! Did the complete family order via HayHampers ! So total was a lot of money! Ordered 15th December due to perishable goods, had no order confirmation so called on the 16th to check delivery due in 19th was apologised too and email to confirm was sent to me and confirmation of delivery 19th No delivery 19th so called again yet again appolgised to and delivery next day ! This was a promise from the customer service team 1.00 pm 20th no delivery called again will call back in 30 mins No call back ! Called again yes promised next day delivery Next day no delivery! Called again and again and again promise after promise after promise Now still waiting for email of confirmation of tracking for next day delivery! May has well change the order to Mother’s Day has I really can’t believe a word this company tells me any more. Well tomorrow is the cut off for Christmas let’s see if you can actually get your act together and play with big boys has this really isn’t a professional way to operate ! Please do t take the risk and just order from John Lewis !
My order did not arrive. They do not reply to my email. The chat function doesn't work and no-one answers the phone. Terrible.
Ordered a hamper for delivery 19/12. No delivery and no contact since order confirmation email. Have emailed, tried to call (no answer or answer machine as advertised on the website) and live chat is not being answered, despite showing as ‘available’. Update: parcel arrived 23/12. Absolutely no contact from the company to advise or apologise for the delay. Nice product but non existent customer service.
We ordered a hamper to be delivered to our daughter near Derby in time for her to take it as a surprise for the 80th birthday party of my wife's brother in Nottingham. It failed to arrive on the stipulated date or the next three days although the money we paid had already been taken, so we rang them and they said it was an accounting error!? We had to apologise to my wife's brother, which was embarrassing and extremely disappointing for everyone. I should have read the awful reviews first! Useless waste of time for all.
Extremely satisfied with the presentation of the product and the quality of its contents. Would definitely use Hay Hampers again.
I sent one of your hampers to my daughter for her birthday, and she was absolutely delighted with it. Her whole family enjoyed the delicious food, and the chocolate cake was a big hit with the kids!

Mar 06,2025Ordered a gift hamper (Fishy in a Basket). I was a bit worried about the negative reviews, but everything was fine! It arrived on time and my dad was very excited to try the lobster terrine on his birthday. Thanks!
