My son just toured Italy with the Marin Highlanders rugby club. He said that it was the most amazing experience of his life. Everything was very well planned and communicated with a detailed itinerary of each day's activities/meals/accommodations, so as a parent it was nice to know what was happening from afar. The trip included a wonderful blend of historical/cultural experiences, rugby games against local teams, special coaching opportunities, attending professional games and also offered plenty of free time for the kids to explore local areas on their own. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this experience was for my son's team and am grateful for all the hard work that went into planning this trip.....especially during a pandemic. It was seamless. A huge THANK YOU to everyone at Irish Rugby Tours!!
We try to do an international tour every other year. Irish Rugby Tours has been handling our tours for close to 10 years and they do a fantastic job. Unlike American Football or Basketball we coach a sport that most of our players do not watch on TV. A lot of our players have never seen what rugby played at a high level looks like. Our goals are pretty simple- Have Fun, Get Better and become a Student of the Game. In an 8 day period the boys played 3 games, (1. U.S. Primavera-Rome, 2. Firenze Rugby 1931-Florence, 3.Villorba Rugby-Treviso), had 2 training sessions with professional coaches and were able to watch two matches. The Italian U19 teams provided excellent competition and memorable 1/3 half socials afterwards. When you combine this with sightseeing and historical tours of three of the most beautiful and historically influential cities in western history, it's hard to see this as anything but a big win for the boys. Quotes from our captains The tour was an awesome trip in general and even better for team bonding. It couldn’t have been scheduled at a better time; the time we spent together training and playing in Italy has set the bar high for our season. We hope to build on the intensity gained from the trip and are looking forward to our first league game this weekend. Wyatt O'Connor-Forwards Captain The Italy trip was the exact right catalyst to create the cohesiveness our team needed. The team grew immensely closer and our chemistry transferred directly into our games. It is awesome to see how the team has changed since we’ve returned, there is a huge difference in our intensity and engagement levels during practices and I can’t wait to let everything we’ve learned loose during our next games. It was amazing to see and experience just how much rugby means to people in other countries and to be able to feel a part of that. We were either touring or playing rugby the entire trip so it was also a huge test to our mental toughness because each day was a grind. But it felt rewarding and special to go through those long days, then get to play a rugby game and finish the day with a meal next to your opponent’s. The entire trip was super special and I will not forget it for the rest of my life. Hudson Lavinsky- Backs Captain.
IRT took our Varsity team on a trip of a lifetime. They played three matches with incredibly talented U19 rugby teams, visited Rome, Florence and Venice, saw monuments and historical landmarks and bonded as a team for life. Cannot recommend enough! Can't wait to travel with this organization again soon!
Very well organized. The tour manager and tour guide managed all logistics allowing us for a smooth tour experience. Every detail was taken care of with a smile - transportation, lodging, day trips, ticketing, dining and translation! They absolutely know how to manage large groups! Ray and Robert are stellar individuals. Their knowledge of Rugby, experience with the local clubs and traditions truly enhanced our tour. We hope to see them again in 2 years.
Made everything easy. Even if we didn’t always make easy for them to make it easy for us.
It was a really good, memorable experience. Well managed despite a global pandemic. I would have liked to spend more time at the cliffs and doing more things like that, but I'm old and it was a rugby trip not a hiking trip! The matches that were set up for us provided good competition for us and the hosts were gracious. Thanks for the memories!
Would 100% recommend Irish Rugby Tours. Our trip from Vermont, USA to Ireland was very dialed in and everyone had a great time. Great attention to detail and very organized.
Irish Rugby Tours was fantastic. They took care of everything for us, from transportation, lodging, setting up matches and training sessions, as well as visiting some of the local tourist spots. Even with COVID making things more difficult, they helped us figure out everything that we needed to do to make our trip successful and fun. It made it really easy for us to just relax and enjoy our trip, whenever we needed anything or weren't sure of where to go or what to do, our tour guide Ray was always there to help us out. Give that man a raise! We will definitely be using you guys again. Thank you for the trip of a lifetime!
Absolutely brilliant tour - everything ran like a well oiled machine. Right from the flights and arrival admin through to the day-to-day of getting a pack 30+ lads on the bus on time, they nailed it. The host teams were perfectly matched for our group too, with an appreciated skew towards the social side of rugby. If you are looking for an unforgettable experience with the only drama left for the referee, and be shown the best side of rugby, leave it to George and Ray (and Colin!)
Great experience, they even managed to navigate COVID to make it all happen! Could not have been in better hands.
Imagine being an old boy (Over 40, Legend) on a Rugby tour to Ireland. You get to play in 2 matches against some strong Irish competition…Go to Guinness tour…A distillery…See Ireland vs Japan …see the Cliffs of Moher…Party in the heart of Gallway and Dublin for all 5 nights… It was simply amazing; I left my heart in Ireland. Admin: I also hold the position of treasurer with my team and the costs were extremely reasonable for our accommodations and level of care. The two tour guides we had, Raymond and Colin, were patient and ensured everything transitioned smoothly. Team officers: you want this tour. It was an experience I will never have again because this was the best time I’ve ever had. This was IT, Gentlemen. If you’re reading this, sign up…You won’t be sorry.
These guys were awesome. Frank drove the bus like a finely tuned machine and Ray was the Man.
Irish Rugby Tours provided us with a professional life changing experience. Top notch experiences were had by all and the food, tourism, and rugby were excellent. We asked for high level games and Irish Rugby Tours set up great provincial rugby matches. They asked and helped the teams provide us traditional socials afterwards hosted by top rugby clubs in Ireland.
Our tour we took with Irish Rugby Tours was pure class. The daily itinerary was exactly what we were looking for with a mix of competitive rugby, training sessions, and touring cultural sites. George and his staff took care of us and we will for sure be booking again in the future. From the bus and transport, accommodation and tour guides - it was a trip of a lifetime for all involved.
Great experience overall for a high school boys and girls players. Ray was a great host for us and looked after all of our needs including the small detail at hotels and the clubs that hosted us. We toured in the summer of 2019, which led to a limited number of clubs being able to field teams against us. I would recommend touring during the regular rugby season to gain access to more clubs.
I had an excellent experience from start to finish with Irish rugby tours. Booking was handled with great care and our tour package was very well filled with great activities for the group in between some well contested matches for the boys and girls. The schools who hosted us were very welcoming, to us and our parent supporters. We were well looked after by Irish rugby tors for the entirety of our trip and I would recommend them highly to anyone going on tour to Ireland as their local knowledge and planning of the tour was faultless
It was such a pleasure to visit Ireland in 2018. Irish Rugby Tours was exceptional in their hospitality, planning and personal relationships. I would sincerely recommend that other clubs or schools from around the world to take the time to contact Irish Rugby Tours with regards to such an amazing tour in a lively country. Thank you Raymond an Greg for what was an unforgettable tour of your beautiful country. Jaco van Deventer - Drakenstein Primary - South Africa
Fantastic, cultural and rugby experience
Rugby: The Tour was overall a great experience. The Rugby training was excellent and the matches were good. The host clubs were outstanding and extremely welcoming. Ton of fun, food, and good rugby. Attending the Six Nations match was a fantastic experience. Guides: Our Italian Guide Sara was great, very organized and informative. The IRT representative Kerry was great and extremely helpful. I would recommend both. Hotels: All three hotels were nice and clean. However, while the hotels were all clean and nice, the first one outside Milan was a too far away from anything. The location of the Venice area one was a bit better and the Rome hotel was a very good location. Tour: Only had one day in Venice to see that city and it was the same day as a match. So maybe allow for a bit more time in Venice and scale back the time in the Milan area as that city can be seen in one eve. Flight: Only issue with the package was 1) the team and guests not being able to fly on the same flight; and 2) I would guess that those that were on the Air Maroc flight would not recommend using Air Maroc and stopping in Casablanca Airport going forward. That airport is very unorganized and a bit sketchy, especially with a multi hour layover. However the majority of the squad that used Delta/ Dutch Air had a significantly better and fine flight experience. The tour group should definitely fly together and not through Morrocco. The flight and the lack of time in Venice were really the only negative

Mar 11,2022We had a very good tour to the Eclipse Centre in Co. Kerry. The students were kept active throughout the weekend stay with activities such as kayaking and team building. In the evening time the students played games such as table tennis and we also sat around a bonfire telling stories. The food was of good quality and the staff were always more than willing to help out. The accommodation was a combination of dorms and houses which were all of a good standard.
