Friendly professional staff , helpful with lending helmets etc. Up to date bikes . Parking was easy and free . Glad I booked with them. Thankyou lightning.
I had very bad experience here.seriously wembley staff is very very rude and we pay money to learn something not to listen any Kind of bad words or something else .
The best one day CBT experience for first time and renewal rider, the instructors are professional and experienced. Would recommend anyone to train with the Wembley team.
Excellent, the cordial treatment all the instructors, from the main office of Wembley all the very friendly ladies on the phone well I have no words to describe how satisfied and happy I feel when I pass my Mod 1 and Mod 2 in the first attempt Thank you very much to all of you
I can’t thank lightning enough for all the support , it’s been a long road to getting my full licence but with the great instructors, their patience and encouragement I’ve done it 😊 and a massive thank you to Keith for not letting me give up, thank you 😊
A perfect training day! I used LMT to get my CBT, the last time I was on a moped was 20 years ago. I was so impressed by the calm, fun and detailed instruction that myself and and two others in the group received from Paul, our instructor on the day. I don't think we were necessarily an easy group to instruct, me, the old fart at 50+ and two others, one 18 year guy old and a young woman, I would guess about 20...ish. Our instructor gave each of us the confidence we needed to get through the day. All I can say is thank you and I'll be back soon to do some more training for my A1 test.
Great experiance. The instructor bob was really informative and patient. It is the best place to go if it is your first time.
This is a great organisation! The admin team were incredibly helpful with my booking and the training day was excellent. The instructor was supportive and encouraging and inspired confidence and safety sense in the learner.
Had booked my CBT well over a month ago & upon arrival at Wembley the entire team were great. Although Paul was our instructor interaction was also between "Dick Van Dyke" and Gary too, although they were taking those on higher levels. throughout the training day Paul was engaging, calm and informative. His overall demeanour truly made him stand out and his interaction when on the 2 hour road ride were great. His instructions clear but most importantly his concern for our safety on the road. Have already recommended to friends & acquaintancs, Paul will know who this is from if you simply mention the name Darling. Hopefully I'll be back later this year to also "go further"
First class from the beginning to the end !! All the staff were excellent and very professional !! I enjoyed every minute of my training from CBT to my full licence and could not recommend them high enough .
I can honestly say I have thoroughly enjoyed my training at lightning Oxford, A very special thanks to Piotr, Simon and especially Pirate, Great banter all day long even when the weather was bad. I would highly recommend Lightning to anyone wanting to get on two wheels.
Worst thing I've even done is going to LIGHTNING MOTORCYCLE TRAINING IN OXFORD. I even feel like loosing my 160£ for nothing... They said no pass or fail at first when I called them.. Later on the trainer failed me 😡.. Don't even deserve one star.... I'm a student and its really hard to make my ends meet.... Thought this would be an ideal opportunity and can ride motorcycle.... This is worst... I suggest not to go here again.. The instructor never let me ask question and he never answers... Don't let me speak... He was rude from the beginning with me.... What's wrong with him?!!!!! I'm still crying for my loss...
A review for Kyle who was my instructor on the 31st at Culham science park. Good banter. Made it fun even with crappy weather. Mirror Mirror Signal Lifsaver Check Manoeuvre La La La La.
If you're tired of your 125 and feel like it's time to make a change and need help getting your bigger licence I suggest you head straight to the Lightning Test Centre. I've trained for my A2 at Lightning in Wembley and I must say I can't wait to be back here in 2 years when I'm eligible for my A - Unrestricted licence. From the first day meeting Paul at the centre was one of the funniest days while being there. Sadly I didn't get to have a day training with Paul but like the people have mentioned in the other reviews "very funny guy". He just made me feel welcome and I couldn't wait to start training. "Do Not call him SIR" haha. I must thank Chris who did my first day training and was straight on point, no time wasting and genuinely went through the day smoothly and effectively. He also helped me renew my CBT through the Advance Rider CBT scheme very quickly and without any problems! Next I had Gary who's just amazing at his job and has all the banter. We did a nice warm up in the morning on my Mod 1 day and by lunch time I received my pass certificate first try without any problems so thank you for the great tips and techniques beforehand. Also you've done my warm up for my Mod 2 test day and that has helped me a lot by getting used to the bike and familiarising myself with the area for the test routes and therefore I passed the Mod 2 confidently so I appreciate that. Also thanks to William and Alex for getting me through some of the days being at the centre and showing me their side and way of riding where I was able to pick up new skills as we went along. On top of that I just felt comfortable talking and asking about anything really and it was nice to have biker conversations that didn't necessarily have to be related to the course. I've passed my Mod 2 second try because my head was all over the place on my first try and I wasn't looking far enough ahead on my test route but no worries as there's always a "next time". On that topic, I had to do some re-booking and scheduling with the customer support team and I had no problems with that...very welcoming and helpful staff - Becky and Alice...thank you for guiding me! Overall, it has been a great, memorable experience and I highly recommend it if you're still debating whether to step forward or keep waiting. From my experience I can assure you, you will not regret it! Thanks again, "Cristian C"!
Overall Summary - Outstanding experience! After passing the first time both my A license MOD1 and MOD 2 exam, with zero rider faults on the MOD2, it must come down to the outstanding instruction at Lightning Motorcycle Training. I would highly recommend the DAS and CBT course to anyone looking to get their license in the Oxfordshire area. My instructors where Kyle, Mark, and Simon, and all three were very professional, excellent teachers, and a pleasure to ride with during the lessons. I rode with Mark as the instructor for both the MOD 1 and MOD 2 skills days. Mark had the perfect mixture of friendliness and sternness, which allowed for the student to stay confident even after making mistakes. One of the best aspects of Lightning Motorcycles was the warm-up before the riding sessions and exams. The first day on the Suzuki 600 was very nerve-racking, but the school allowed for the riders to drive around the practice area for 20-30 minutes to get a feel for the bike on their own. Finally, the mock MOD 1 practice was extremely valuable as we practiced the MOD 1 exam three times under exam conditions with the instructor marking our performance. All in all, I highly recommend Lightning Motorcycle Training to anyone looking to get their A license/CBT. In-depth review: I had the unusual circumstance of booking a 3-day DAS course-based with a competitor out of Swindon/Carterton and have a direct comparison of two local schools. I had first completed my CBT with Lightning but decided to switch to another school for the DAS course due to the 5 star reviews and free retake of the MOD 2 if I didn’t pass the first time. Unfortunately, this was a terrible mistake costing me 600 quid. The first day of the 3-day course we spent on 125cc motorcycles in worse condition than my 2011 CBF125. We drove from Carterton to Swindon to practice at the test centre’s MOD 1 test area. The instructor had only one Yamaha 650cc for 4 students to practice on. Each pair had 2 hr in the MOD 1 area and the rest of the time was reviewing driving theory in the DVSA office (even though I had passed my theory test already?). I had about 1 hr on a 650cc through alternating with a partner, and with constant criticism from the instructor, I never had a chance to relax and get a feel for the bike. The instructor said the time was up, and both my partner and I needed to book an extra full day to improve our riding. Finally, this instructor was sending students out to complete the MOD 1 exam with very little training, time on the 650cc, and not having completed a mock/simulated test. This is a night and day comparison to Lightning Motorcycle Training. I decided to book as you go and booked a MOD 1 skills days with Lightning in Oxford. The very first thing after checking in was being shown the Suzuki 600cc bike and being free to ride around the practice area and get the feel for the bigger machine compared to my 125. As stated before, even when I made a daft-serious fault during training, I was never demoralized by the instructor. It was always framed as a way to learn from the mistake and build upon it. Once again, I highly recommend Lightning Motorcycle Training!
Just done my DAS with Lightning and I’m generally happy as I’ve completed the course successfully, although there’s some things that are left to be desired. First of all, I was given random instructors for nearly every day of my training and, as much as it is useful to get advantage of different teaching approaches, it does not give you that personal feeling with your instructor, who knows how you progress throughout the course. I’ve had some brilliant instructors like Nick, William and Keith, and I’ve had some absolutely awful ones, it’s like a lucky dip unless you specifically request the one you know. Second matter is the state of the bikes. I understand it’s a teaching school, but they could seriously use some more love. Wobbly clutches and spinning mirrors seem pretty standard, although I saw brand new bikes too so it may be getting better now. Admin stuff like booking lessons or tests is a breeze so kudos to the office staff! All in all, not bad, but I recommend finding out about the instructors first. 3.5/5
Our instructor Paul was excellent. He was very patient and knowledgeable and answered all the questions that I had about my CBT training and full motorcycle training (future plans). Highly recommend, thank you.
I'm so happy I've got my CBT Certificate today. Firstly I thank much Gary a very funny guy, for giving me assessment before taking the long fun drive on the roads. It was a big help specially for a guy like me never driven a motorcycle (moped) in my life. Then Paul, funny guy too keeps your pressure off made me relaxed on the motor. I was actually having fun driving. Guys don't wait, book your assessment and CBT training on Lighting Motorcycle Training now, it is absolutely worth it, because you will learn, you will laugh and a CBT Certificate all in a bundle. Once again thanks much Gary and Paul. You two are the bests.
Oxford Took my CBT today & was lucky enough to be trained by Kyle for the first half of the day. He was absolutely brilliant, professional & very patient Kyle explained everything so clearly & demonstrated all manoeuvres to a really high standard Carl took over when we went out on the road & he was all of the above as well Definitely would recommend these to do your training

Sep 19,2021I did my Cbt in Oxford. They gave me an old, broken scooter at first and changed it for a better one for my last hour on the road. The theory part was good, we were told about the rules and safety, etc. The practical part however wasn't that good, we didn't get enough rounds to practice manoeuvres. It would be OK for an experienced rider, but not for a beginner. One of the 'instructors' was being trained and took a lot of time to talk with the other instructor, whilst we were just standing and waiting. Considering that we booked training with "fully qualified instructors" according to the website, and that around 50% of our time was taken/wasted by the instructors talking to each other, I think we should have been offered a partial refund for wasted time.
