The conference was very informative and immersive which made for a great experience.
My initial thought of todays structure was a day were we just going straight into interviews however, I found the day to be way more informative as there was also an inter collated teaching day about ethics and wider reading which I found to be very useful. The day I found to be much calmer and relaxing than I initially thought because all the scholars were nice and I thank all the Dr’s who took their time out of their day to be our interviewers. It was also very good going over all types of interviews as I thought it would only be just panels or MMIs. Overall an enjoyable day, thank you.
The feedback from the interview practice was really helpful and informative. The teaching sessions helped reinforce a good basis of understanding.
It was very useful however I wasn’t a massive fan of waiting around for interviews as my group watched the same presentations twice before getting an interview so it felt a bit repetitive. The interviews were well structured and I enjoyed the ethics teaching and the list of resources to use to help prep.
It was a great experience to be interviewed by medical professionals without the pressure of it being the real thing. The feedback was useful and I would definitely recommend it.
Amazing experience. Very welcoming, educative, informative, structured and organised event for the mock interviews.
Interview practice for group, panel, and MMI. Get detailed feedback on your interviews. Is however a day long, but is worth the practice and feedback to learn from.
The interviews and verbal feedback was extremely helpful! Maybe if possible, to have the teaching sessions before the interviews as preparation.
Very supportive, very fun and light hearted, really insightful responses and feedback.
Very helpful and constructive
highly informative individualist feedback
A lot of constructive feedback, very personal feedback that was one to one
Really good work lots of practise and interviews
The conference was very inciteful and educational. It provided a guide and a focused tour to the intended direction for my daughters medical career. It clearly showed me what the pathway was to increase the success of an application that would be put forward and allowed engagement with those students and doctors that had successfully navigated the journey.
It was amazing! They went through so much information that would help me stand out and now i know how to prepare for things like my statement and the UCAT exam
not informative at all. not delivered well at all either. it is clear the presenters are only there to advertise their course which costs a bootload of money. just another group of money grabbers. not worth it at all, don't even attend.
Prior to this conference I knew very little about the application process for medicine and didn't have much confidence in completing it successfully - especially with the recent changes to the personal statement format. So I really appreciated how detailed the mentors were as they discussed every aspect of medical applications including preparation, the persobal statement, the UCAT, and the interviews. They fully explained what was to be expected at each stage, whilst offering tips and tricks, and even brought in various university students who have vital first hand information on successfully applying. It was all extremely useful and reassuring. In addition I thought that the regular opportunities for questions after each 'segment' and student speaker were very helpful and kind as everyone's concerns were addressed and further advice was shared. Overall the experience was amazing and I am very grateful I was part of it.
It was a first Medic Mentor conference for my daughter, as she's year 12 found it was very informative and explained well the misconceptions when applying to study medicine.
Was very informative and was a lot of help definitely recommend attending
