I was looking for no meat foods for my adult cat. I am so glad I bumped into one of the blogs that mentioned about Nature’s Hug brand that carried cat food with vegan options. I decided to give it a try as my cat seems to be itchy often. Vets are not yet able to pinpoint the reason for itchiness, but said there could be many possible factors, and one of the reasons mentioned was foods. I thought if I changed food first then we can start narrowing the list of possible reasons. It is very early to say how this food has been helping since it is only about a few days over a week since I have switched my cat to this plant based food. I have peace of mind, somehow, knowing the many good and natural ingredients that go into making this food. Truly, a sort of relief that my cat is eating non meats product, which could be the reason for his itchiness. The transition was a bit difficult for my cat. The instructions mention about adding new food to old food, which I did follow, however my cat would leave out the new food and go for the old food. Little by little thank God, he did transition to it, and he now eats it without hesitation. Taking him off the high caloric diet, has certainly been beneficial. He lost 2 kgs. He is an overweight cat though, so this definitely is a bonus. To be honest, he was on another diet by Purina salmon flavour before I switched him to this company’s food, for about 8-9 days. I am not sure that he lost weight because of natures hug diet, it could be a combination of both Purina grain free and natures hug grain free diets. I ordered another bag to see how it goes in the coming days, but I am happy for a well made diet based on the labels of this brand. Thank you! One thing I would like to say to the company that if possible, make the smell a bit more appetizing and inviting. I guess this was the reason my cat didn’t go for it right away as he did for Purina salmon grain free food, which he took it as though he was craving for it right from the first time I gave him! Slurp slurp he went! God bless your efforts into providing us with good natural foods!

We had gone to the pet expo is September and recd a once per customer 50% off coupon attached to a sample. We looked up the company online to find places to buy the product- it said global pet foods- global in the Toronto - Markham area did not stock it one shop tried to order and couldn’t. It was very hard to reach the company as no tel#. Then the back and forth emails to get them to honour and complete the order was horrendous. The coupon was inaccurate - it should have read 1 bag per customer order not once. If we were to buy 1 bag, then shipping costs would be an issue so we ended up buying 2 - one bag at full price. Areas to improve 1. Label your coupons to be more transparent. 2. Provide a tel number 3. Train your reps to know where we can get the product accurately and on your website. 4.Hire more people to answer emails and tel. lines to assist customers. Update - response to Nature’s Hug. We contacted you by email BEFORE the coupon expired- Global Pets also had spent 1.5 weeks trying to get the order for us. That was more than 2 weeks before the expiry date. We had checked your website for retailers that carried your product and had put in our postal codes. We located 3 Global Pet stores that your site said carried your product. That is why we had gone to our local Global Pet stores to find your product - 2 of the 3 in our area did not stock your product any 2 refused to even order it. Perhaps there are more places in Quebec or in areas that are not in the greater Toronto area that might carry your supplies with their regular stock. The coupon didn’t say ONE it said ONCE, meaning 1 order per customer, not one coupon per bag. The coupon can be written much more in a transparent way. We did use your customer service email but with the tight timelines, it was hard to get info fast enough for this situation especially when the coupon was not clear to us (even the store read it as we did- 50% of the order, not per bag). Also the way the coupon would be applied to our order. It took 2 of us back and forth to get your rep to reply and to explain how we could order the bags and receive the discount. Instead she just told us to put in the order. No explanation of how we would receive the 50% off. The order kept coming up as full price - no discount code was provided and no explanation that we would be reimbursed after we paid the order. If that had been done, the coupon would not have expired. The review is a way for you to improve with your customers and is the only reason I wrote this. I believe it is better to provide constructive advice rather than just verbally tell others what went wrong.
The website interface is easy to navigate, shipping is fast, and my cats love the nuggets (they both prefer the blue bag).

My dog has lots of allergies. His vet recommended a vegetarian food and we bought this one at the vet store. Unfortunately it was very inconvenient going there to buy it every 3 weeks. I was very happy when I discovered I was able to buy it at the website and have a subscription for it, so it will be even easier! My dog loves this food and it really helps him stay healthy.
Our puppy got sick and it was recommended that we feed a certain food the day after we ordered Natures Hug. We were responsible for return shipping, which was $50, so we decided to keep it and mix with our current food once he gets better. Vets now recommend to feed dogs with grains for heart issues, but this one doesn't have grains.
Great product! Kitty loves it. Get used to it in a couple of days.
the shipping speed is something that always amazes me. i used to buy from a retailer, but i had a terrible experience with shipping and stock. now i buy directly from Nature's Hug, and i could not be happier. and the food suits my dog very well.
My chihuahua LOVES this food! I was also impressed with the speed of the delivery. I will order this again in the future, for sure. I am grateful to have an option to buy a plant based kibble - which is nutritious, affordable and tasty! (I admit I tried it myself LOL)
My dog usually sticks her nose up at new foods, but she really wanted to try this one, after receiving the bag of food and taking the bag out of the box I just set it off to the side. Little did I know she was going to try and rip into it as soon as I was out of sight. Normally she wouldn’t even look twice at a bag of food, but for some reason she really wanted to get into this one. So after taking it from her and putting some into her bowl, she stood there over her dish until it was gone. This was a surprise since she usually gets a mouthful and goes elsewhere to eat it, but not Nature’s Hug Pet Food, she even growled at the cats when they went to check it out and normally she doesn’t care if they eat her food but she wouldn’t let them near this stuff..
I was given a sample of Nature’s Hug Pet Food in exchange for my honest review. All three of my dogs loved it which was quite surprising because they are definitely all meat eaters. Nature’s Hug Pet Food is an ecofriendly, sustainable, plantbased protein option, made with nutritional dry yeast, which provides complete and effective digestion with the probiotic family. It contains the same essential amino acids that animal proteins like chicken do, eliminating the risk of allergies that a lot of meat products can cause. The growth of dry yeast also emits significantly less CO² than raising animals for food. I am very happy with this product. :)

The food smelt completely different than any brand I’d smelt before. My cats weren’t impressed with it at all, one is a walking garbage can so I was surprised. I did mix it with their regular food and they both gobbled it up. I’m unsure if I’d purchase this brand again, though I love the mission behind the company. Thank you for allowing me to try your brand for free, I appreciate it very much and wish you huge success.
