I've used the company on two occasions .. the first time to repair our fan oven and the second time to give an opinion on a repair to the cooker hood. The engineer was very honest and said the repair would be more expensive than purchasing a new hood ... which we did and fitted it ourselves. A very professional service that we will definitely use again.

James visited my home over the last six months with an ongoing problem with my B & Q oven / insurance issue, no one to be fixed by a repair I may add and their customer service was shocking! Reports gallore undertaken by James, finally the insurance company have taken his expertise and dealt with a refund as there has most definitely been a fault! Thanks James for helping to sort this issue, very much appreciated. I have already passed your details on as you know to others.
I honestly can’t fault these guys! We called Newton appliances to install a hob and oven for us but only the oven could be installed due to an incorrect socket type. James was fantastic in providing us the information needed to pass on to the council so we could get the hob installed at a later date. We’ve just had our second call out and now how a fully functional hob and oven! James even charged us £30 both times rather than the £60 call out fee twice and said he’d done it as he’d only done half the job we’d originally called him out for. The woman on the phone is also super patient and really helpful so overall, I’ll be keeping their number just in case! Would definitely use again if we have any need for a repair or installation in future!

I thought my dishwasher was toast when a friend recommended James at Newton, I booked an appointment was given a convenient time slot in which James arrived in. He diagnosed the issue, repaired my washer and saves me spending hundreds of pounds on a needless replacement. Cant recommend highly enough and will 100% use in the future.

Jan 23,2024I had a visit recently from an engineer to assess a faulty kitchen appliance. This was arranged by an intermediate "repairs company" - Go Assist - a rip-off company which I have also reviewed on Trustpilot (I didn't know then how bad they are, essentially it is a scam company unless you are one of the lucky few). The engineer stayed approximately 15 minutes and did not do any diagnostic tests, instead diagnosed the problem by ear alone. This was not a cheap visit, as explained in my Go Assist review. After phoning James Loudoun, the owner, to complain, I was told I was "over-reacting", and that I must take into account the travelling time for the engineer getting to and from my address, in addition to the actual time spent i my kitchen. I replied, correctly I believe, that travel time should be non-chargeable. When I complained that the engineer did not test any components using any metering equipment, I was told that, with 30 years experience, the engineer didn't have to do that because he was so experienced. Maybe so, but it's completely not what I was expecting. I had paid for up to 1 hour of diagnosis and repair, but all I got was the very unsatisfactory 10-15 minutes before he left. They said they were going to recommend parts to the handling company but I had lost all confidence in them at that point and cancelled any further input from them. A waste of everyone's time. The engineer made a very glib remark to me as he was leaving which left me feeling shocked and quite threatened. I think they are rebranding to "Local Appliance Services" to align themselves with Go Assist presumably to extract as much cash from the public, for doing nothing, as possible. A good business model but not for the consumer. What a terrible experience, the worst I have had in terms of appliance repairs, and I would not have them back to my address under any circumstances. UPDATE 01/02/24 I know what the engineer "diagnosed" but turns out he was wrong. As I have said over and over to Mr Loudoun and Go Assist, who sent them to me, listening to dishwasher mechanism and having alleged "experience" are not a substitute for doing actual repair work (or not any work at all, in my case).
