simple to add funds and excellent communication
I recently had a 1-year fixed rate cash ISA mature with Oak North. In the lead up to the maturity date I received an email saying I was eligible for loyalty rate if I reinvested into another fixed rate cash ISA with them. Brilliant I thought, at last a company who cares as much about existing customers as they do about new ones. However my positive feeling quickly evaporated when I logged onto the app to discover the loyalty rate on offer to roll my money into another 1 year fixed term ISA was 0.01% higher than the rate offered to new customers. That's not 1% or even 0.10% but 0.01%. I couldn't believe they were offering such a pathetic 'reward' for my loyalty. To put it into context. If I'd rolled £20,000 into a new 1 year fixed rate cash ISA with them at the 'loyalty rate' I would have earned a measly £2 more interest over the course of the year than a new customer would if they invested the same amount. Instead I've moved my money elsewhere and Oak North have lost my custom. Whoever thought that offering an extra 0.01% to reward loyalty was anything other than an insult needs to have a serious rethink on how to retain customers.

Brilliant fixed rate for 12 months, but then the rate dropped so we have moved our money elsewhere.

The speed in which they dealt with my issue was very good. It was slightly complicated, but they were clear and simple to understand and they sent the necessary correspondence out quickly.
All communications and transactions were clear and straightforward and completed with out issue.
With an impending ISA maturity reinvestment options are late to appear and supposed to have a loyalty rate for customers to stay with OakNorth. When they do arrive they are 0.01% above the rate given to a new customer! When prompted on this fact they unashamedly claim it can be anything up to 0.1% - Wow! Just shows how much OakNorth think of their customers.
