I enquired about possible investment in property as a rental investment and contacted Taylia Adams. Her professionalism from start to finish gave me an indication of what doing business Pangea would be like! Taylia set up a teams meeting, she was early for the meeting, she gave me a detailed explanation of what Pangea is about as well as property investment in Dubai is all about. She had such patience explaining every aspect of investment as well as the property laws even answering every question I had. Taylia Adams is a real asset for Pangea and because of her professionalism and property knowledge, the reason I can see myself doing business with Pangea in the future. I would advise anyone to make contact with Taylia Adams or any consultant. Thank you Taylia for your above and beyond service!!!

Ive been staying in one of their buildings for about 2yrs now. Up until recently I hadnt any real issues. The mild maintenance issues I did have were always fixed promptly. This past winter i had to get a heater for my room because the heat basically doesnt work. Which is a whole other issue. But the heater started to smell like it was burning so i just froze for the last couple months of winter. Fast forward to this summer i put in a AC in one of the rooms. I came home one day and the whole room had lost power. The rest of the apt is fine. So i call them and they say its because of the AC. They called comEd. Comed says its not an issue with them, its a wiring issue and they will need to send a electrician. I called CYM and they said they would send someone. ITS BEEN 3WEEKS. Ive called and emailed them several times. Its still mid summer and this place is 90degrees normally. Im 8mos pregnant and am miserable. Its to the point where im thinking of calling an electrician myself and taking it from rent but im sure they wont go for that. I dont know what else to do at this point. Im afraid they wont have it fixed by the time i give birth and i cant have my infant in a HOT dark room. Ive had no issues up until this and its truly bizarre. I actually liked this place alot. But now i see why they get terrible reviews and are constantly being sued. They blatantly dont care. But be 1 day late on rent, they are surely prompt to send out that late fee/5day notice. Smh. So sad.

Previous Employee and Tenant. Pangea or most recently known as CYM Living is one of the most unprofessional, dishonest, “money hungry” and shadiest rental companies in Chicago. It’s no wonder it owns so many run down shanty apartments in the most crime ridden areas. If you’re just starting your rental journey, this may seem like the best option, however the downside is you will live to regret it. I was a previous employee and tenant so I have first-hand experience with them. I was a tenant with them for 5-6 yrs. My final year renting was in April 2022. I lost my dad a few months later to cancer and fell behind on rent. I was transparent, and stayed in contact with the property manager at all times. I continued to make payments, whether it was partial or in full. Due to the family tragedy and less work hours I could never catch up and yes the rent was high to be on the west side. I continue to try to keep up with payments and in Oct/ November I was only behind two months. At this time I was not given any notice or anything pertaining to an EVICTION. That month I paid $1000 or more to them. It wasn’t until December where I was told my account was locked because of eviction proceedings. The property manager never gave me notice or stopped by. They continued to let me pay, thinking I would clear up the arrears soon. I contacted the local office she told me just pay, I said why would I if you claim you’re already filing an eviction, which I wasn’t even legally informed of to give me time to pay the full balance? I informed them I would fight them in court. I retained a lawyer, and saved my money and went to court. The AFFIDAVIT said they simply wanted me to vacate which I did to prevent further billing in January. They never put on the notice we wanted to recover funds. Per their court filing, they claim they told me in October! (BLATANT LIE) no one told me anything they continued to take my money then waited until January of 2023 to try and Sue me in court! The eviction case was dismissed in March because they knew they violated my rights. However, as I began applying for new units with other companies later that year, it began to come up on my credit file as right off for $6000 dollars. I didn’t even owe them more than $2200 at the time of the eviction filing. So although it did not come up as an eviction it comes up in as negative and derogatory making me miss out on various rental properties. I was very confused and livid because if they wanted the payments it would’ve been discussed with the lawyer to ensure I didn’t owe anything. They never put in their reports that they wanted money, just me out of the unit. I was already out of the unit so they could’ve simply added they wanted the back rent as well. They never did. This IS INCOMPETENT, manipulative, and VERY SHADY RENTAL COMPANY. Do not ever rent with them. EVER! Aside from that there’s no upkeep, mold, rat infestation, leaking ceilings, drug dealers everywhere. Just not a good company. They have no integrity or morale.

Since I moved in last year (April, 2023) I had a problem with the heat. Once they fixed the heat, they don't run good as I thought. And I still have an issues with the heat on March 23rd. I called the office n request for maintenance to fix the heat and they don't bother to come to my apt n check the heat for almost 5 days now. It s getting frustrated for me because I paid the rent on the time all the times n that s what I got??? I made a terrible decision to move in. 😕

I’ve been renting this apartment form Pangea/CYM living for 10 months now, the very first day I moved in was 5-27-2023 I started having issues with this apartment/property first issue I notice was it wasn’t cleaned then the landlord promised that these issues would be addressed taking Mr. Jeru yet his word I moved in come to find out he hadn’t addressed any of the issues was ROACHES AND BEING CLEANED, so I contacted him for help with theses problems he did the bare minimum so I took matters into my own hands and cleaned and pest controls myself, the more I lived here I started finding more issues with this property so would call with my concerns most times they would brush me off so I called again then they would come to do the bare minimum work, I cried and cried to were I said I’m moving as soon as can get enough money together by this time months has gone by I’m having another problem with the furnace called he came changed filter but I keep getting sick having lung issues but I assumed it was a the flu, something just wasn’t right so investigate looking around, checking what I thought I should clean thoroughly again and that some so now I get sick again so I called about checking the filters again, he came and the results from checking the filters was astounding there was much dust it was like black mud packet on the filters both the hallway filter and the furnace filter that’s why I was getting sick I’ve been though a lot living here I’ve never experienced something at this magnitude Pangea/CYM living should be ashamed of treating me this way especially since I paid my rent when required from me I feel if though I’ve been treated unfairly and I’m hurting in heart and soul, health

Moving here was the worst decision I've ever made. If I could give it negative stars I would. I should have known something was off when the unit originally applied for was "not available" and they offered another building. The unit itself was fine, only a few bugs, which I can handle. The building tho, walking into the building youre greeted by people propping the main building door open to let others come in and out of the building. The lobby is so packed i had to tuck my luggage infront of me to pass through. The lobby and the hallways had trash all over. I was followed up to my apartment door twice as i brought stuff in, they would wait till i open the door to walk back downstairs. I had nowhere else to go so I tried to stay the night. Around 9pm, I heard a lot of commotion in the hallway, a group of people started pounding on the wall and door to my apartment and after around 20 minutes they started blasting music, enough to feel it through the walls. I had placed a door stopper on the door and i had to lock myself in the bathroom with my cat. The next morning I called the "Resident Care representatives" spend 40mins being transfer from person to person to then end up with someone who just said theyll have the Building Manager reach out. He couldn't answer any other questions. The Building manager Aaron Harding called me back to say that he couldn't move me to another building because it was "too soon" (whatever that means) unless it was a health issue or a domestic violence incident. He did say he would cancel the lease but there will be no reimbursement for my $1200 in move-in fee and first month rent.🙂 I had to stay in a hotel until i found another place. If you are considering renting here please look elsewhere these people do not care about your safety.

Been living in my apartment for 3 years, one day I came home from work there was a note on my door stating that they would enter my apartment. When came home unlocked my door my Large TV on the wall was gone, they took time to remove it with tools, the plank on my back door was sitting on the floor, the ransacked my bedroom - no force entry of any kind - there are only 2 sets of keys, my son has one he lives in another state and I have the other - someone saw the tv in the back in the garbage with my comforter thrown over it, Maintenance took it out the back, no one comes with tools to take a TV off the wall when there are 2 other tv's not attached nor were they taken - They have been doing this for years - once I started talking to others, the stories starting coming out about - their people coming in with keys and walking out with your property - Don't do it they are thieves

I would not rent from this company. TERRIBLE BUSINESS. I was approved for an application. I signed a lease and everything and 5 days before I was supposed to move in they told me I would not receive the keys unless they were able to verify my employment. I was confused because I already signed a lease, payed a move in fee and was approved. I told them I was an educator and that I do not work during the summer in addition I was moving from one city to another so I had left my old teaching job. The terminated my lease 4 days before I was supposed to move in because I was no longer working my old job, leaving me to scramble to find a new place to live days before I am supposed to move. If this is what they put you through before you even move in I can only imagine how bad things would have been if I actually lived there.

I find it very strange that Pangea requires pay stubs on specific dates and told me I otherwise most likely will not be approved. I sent all pay stubs for the last 60 days but since I do not get paid on the dates they specified, it’s not accepted. This is not explainable and I recommend people not to go with Pangea. Scrolling through the other reviews, I see most people feel the same that I do. They won’t call you if your application is missing something and they tell you when you ask that they won’t call you, you should keep calling in and checking on the status, to be told you are still are missing things. I also see that Pange only responded to the reviews that were positive or semi positive. They don’t bother to try to fix bad experiences.

Terrible! They lied saying I could use my friends check stubs because I’m a student! They lie to you and tell you there’s no way you check your application you gotta call them, I found my application online, a waist of $100 on a application fee! I had you pay $100 for one application because two people was on it!??? So angry

Another SCAM as well! And their customer service is a COMPLETE JOKE! They didn't run my credit but provided some FAKE credit info on the rental screening, as if I don't know my credit score and I'm not going to put two and two together that they didn't even run my credit but instead made $50 quickly! This company is a "good" looking scam. its hard to tell that they're not legit but I have a VERY strong feeling their out here for an application fee only and preying on vulnerable people. Its a side hustle for them and they won't be around long for doing this. They need to be held accountable for their actions and lack of transparency. They are not running your credit instead their submitting fake credit info to the rental screening "company" they use to screen applicants. That's what I took from this terrible experience. just stay away from them, super sad to see our own people doing this to US! and Pangea, DONT reply to me here with the BS, BYE and stop scamming!

The apartment is fine. The building is fine. The neighbors are friendly and quiet. But one day while I was home alone with my kids maintenance took it upon themselves to put their key in my door and attempt to open it. Scaring me and my children. The situation could’ve turned out so bad , I could’ve hurt the men thinking they were trespassing. Walking into people’s apartments unannounced is extremely unprofessional and dangerous. It’s an invasion of privacy. I could’ve been undressed , my kids could’ve been walking around undressed. It’s just not okay.

Horrible people. They only want to scam you out of the application fee. I’d have more respect for them if they were up front, but the way they handled my situation was very unprofessional. Days after I completed the application and paid the fee, they said they needed a bunch of other forms from me. The woman on the phone kept talking over me like it wasn’t a business call. After I was fed up and ready to get my money back, they had another woman call me and ask me ridiculous questions as she was pretending to “verify” it was me. I really can’t believe either of them is employed at all with their personalities. Hopefully they look nice in person because they won’t win anyone over with their conversation. Anyway it’s a scam. Don’t waste your time or money. I’m warning you.

One thing that's been proven to me is that Pangea doesn't care about it's Tenant, or renting to quality people. People who take pride in their surroundings etc...When a tenant takes pride in their surroundings, it's normally and indication that they like where they are living....especially when they've also lived on the property for a long time!!!! And again its a good reflection on the property manager/owner. But I see not in this case. What type of property manager are you who wasn't aware that 15 men are on the property doing roofing? I'm sitting on my porch minding my business like I do every morning, and roofing shingles came flying down!! I could have been hurt!! My Black Stem Elephant Ear plants are ruined, my Rose bush damaged and my decorative lights broken! People would come by and admire the landscaping my son and I did, now all that can be seen is a jacked up yard! First off permits are involved and even HQ will phone, text or email to let you know what's going on, what building or buildings will be involved and for how long. 🤔 Not good business and a very very poor reflection on you...shame shame! I'd really like to have a conversation with the higher ups. Unbelievable!!

If horrible had an entire company attached to it. It’s shameful because they are getting away with the sub par service. The customer service reps are horrible and unprofessional. We were told apartments go on a first come first serve basis so even though you apply for one apartment when it is time to sign the lease there may be a different department they put you in. The only representative that makes any sense and has been helpful was Carmen. The others make you feel as if you are wasting there time. They need to clean house.

I’m in the wilmington building & the management is Horriable ! Not sure what’s the lady name but she’s very rude & doesn’t know how to talk to people . She very inconsiderate & spiteful. Mantance doesn’t fix things right & end up getting broken again & I get blamed for it & wrongfully charged . I explained that my daughter has autism & she was very inconsiderate & told me I might as well move out .

When I first moved in the property manager kept up everything he was amazing. Now it's like living in slums. Water damage, caulk on tub falls off, they charge you an outrageous fee any where from $50-$60 and up to replace blinds anything that should be replaced regularly. Took them a year to replace my sink faucet. $20 a key. I have to have my oven pilot light replaced every year around June July. No gate lock to our front court yard makes it easy access to people looking to rob you, if you got away from a domestic violence relationship they can get in to unalive you, easy for kids to be kidnapped if playing in the yard. People bring bugs and rodents. Trash being tossed out windows. Crack heads living in the building shitting in trash cans and dumpsters and around the building. Prostitution going on like $20 hookers selling coochie.

UPDATE: Today is July 11, 2022. And the residents in my building, floors 1 thru 3, have been without a working kitchen sink since June 24, 2022, due to demolition for the replacement of the water drainage pipe. Meaning, we have to wash our dishes out of our tub where we bath and shower. In addition, we can't cook a decent meal in our kitchen, due to the water damage, mold, & mildew, & the partial demolition that took place in our kitchen's on June 23, 2022. Therefore, we are in need of a new kitchen, that coincide with the expensive rent we're paying monthly. I notify the City of Chicago, on June 28th. I spoke with the supervisor, Mr. Prejo, today, and it sounded like politics. We have been tenants for more than 13-years. And if this happened to us, then this can happen to you, as a tenant of Pangea Real Estate. Tenant's have rights too!
