Jul 02,2021The accommodation looks good from the outside but there were serious security issues. As a student living alone I was shaken to find in January 2020 out after living in renslade since September 2019 that the lock on my door didn’t work, and anyone could walk into my room while I was away or sleeping. When I brought the matter up with Renslade alongside video evidence of my door opening freely from the outside even after I locked it from the inside, they treated the issue with no urgency. I asked if there was CCTV footage to at least check to see that no one had been near my room and they said this wasn’t possible. I was so anxious and felt unsafe. For the rest of the year I put heavy luggage bags against my door every night out of fear for my safety. Nobody was called to fix my door until weeks later and even after that my door didn’t lock. The repairman did nothing. Things remained this way until March 2020 when I had to leave Exeter due to the Covid pandemic, and till this day I am traumatised by the situation and Renslade’s horrible handling of it.

Feb 24,2021Avoid!!! My experience was from the Tramshed student accommodation in preston. Where I explained to them that I needed a tenancy take over as I no longer wanted to move in due to the covid situation. They told me they would put my room marked so that if anyone contacted them that they would pass it onto them. In which I found they never actually did. When I did find people interested they took days to email them which caused a lot of people to become uninterested, to then they started to ignore my emails they actually even blocked my number! Eventually when I did find someone to take over they were very unprofessional give her the wrong contract which could of caused me to once again lose out on my room being taken over. Then I waited over 2 month for my security deposit to come through when told it takes a ‘maximum of 28 days’ and when I contacted them after a month I was ignored. The only person that actually did help me was someone called Rachel from prestige I think she’s the only one I’ve spoken to who is actually professional and does her job correctly and doesn’t ignore and leave you in the dark. Also to mention they won’t help you when you reach out for help, even people who were not able to move in and had no take over tenant they refused to even refund them on any rent even though the rooms are not being used and it’s out of students control. AVOID

DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC THEY HAVE DECIDED THAT NO TENANT WILL GET A REFUND FOR THE TIME THE GOVERNMENT TOLD US WE COULD NOT TRAVEL BACK TO UNI. THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND THEN DONT GIVE ONE OR SUPPORT YOU FINANCIALLY. PLEASE AVOID AND FIND A BETTER COMPANY. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING TO EXPLOIT UNIVERSITY STUDENTS. BAD BAD BAD!!!!!!!! PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!!! THE TRAMSHED , PRESTON SHOULD BE ASHAMED

Oct 06,2020I stayed at their accommodation Opera house in Tottenham Hale, London. Terrible accommodation: This is a detailed review after living at Opera House for one year. It is important that anyone looking at this accommodation knows the following: 1) I didn’t have hot shower water in my apartment for 8 months. I used to shower at the gym. Needless to say how uncomfortable and Inconvenient that was. I’ve constantly complained, my complaints were ridiculed until finally they measured the water temperature and my complaint deemed valid. Took one more month to fix. This issue here is the water but the way they dealt with the complaint so beware. They have zero respect. 2) I had a bike, the security we had at the time, asked me to put it in the secure hallway behind the accommodation until I cleaned it. I came back after two days to find that the previous manager threw it away. They didn’t even bother to drop an email asking whose bike was it. 3) refrigerators: I think almost everyone had a issue with these and so did I. Everything was going bad in the fridge. Again complaints ridiculed. It was only fixed the last month of my stay when the fridge gave up completely. 4) The Area: Tottenham is not safe. As a tenant coming from abroad, I had no way of knowing that, but once I was living there I was feeling completely unsafe. 5) Lack of respect: the management doesn’t respect any of the students. I tried many ways none of them were effective. You might want to know that they simply walk into your rooms as they please. If they knock and you don’t get the door. They find it okay to walk right in. Similarly in your absence. 6) Having lived in London for a while now I must say that that area is too far from the city center, you won’t feel this in the beginning but with time you’ll see that you spend all your day in transport. And this accommodation is simply too expensive for the area. 7) Mind that they prey on students, who are living there alone and cannot leave the accommodation because it’s a one year contract don’t fall for it. It has failed miserably as student accommodation. I know most people are leaving it for good. You can find one bedroom apartments, in the city center for the same price. I know because I did. I highly recommend that you don’t rent here and this is an honest advice if give my siblings. Don’t think you’ll be saving if you rent a seemingly cheaper place. It costed me my peace of mind. I hope no one ever has to live through what I did in this place.

Apr 24,2020I would avoid Prestige at all costs. My son and many of his fellow tenants are currently having a really hard time trying to recover their rent as a result of the Covid lockdown. The landlords and Prestige student living at Renslade House Exeter have steadfastly refused to offer any refund - completely at odds with all other student accommodation. They claim that the rooms are still available and that landlords have costs to keep up. And yet they are not cleaning the place, manning reception or servicing it. They are not responding to any enquiries. I have telephoned them repeatedly but can't speak to anyone other than "sales" staff who are clearly just there as a firewall. Although they say that someone will call back they never do. These guys consider themselves untouchable - just concerned with taking student's money and making profit at all cost. Can't believe they are getting away with it in these times. Please do not trust them.
