Rhode Island Student Loan Authority (RISLA) is a non-profit quasi-state authority that has been providing lower-cost higher education financing solutions since 1981 and free college planning services since 1998. Also provided by RISLA is RIScholarships.org, a free online scholarship search tool to help match students with local scholarships. Additionally, RISLA also offers the Knowledge for College Scholarship, which awards 50 students $2,000 each to help pay for college expenses. For students trying to reduce their interest rates on existing student loans, RISLA also offers low-cost student loan refinancing options. RISLA is with you every step of your college journey, walking you through the college planning process, educating families on obtaining financial aid, and providing tools and resources that help families make informed and responsible borrowing choices to help pay for education.

Courtney puts all your concerns to rest. She was wonderful
I recommend the college planning center 100%! They were super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and made everything easy to understand. As a parent filling out the FAFSA for the first time, I was confident that with their help, I was doing it correctly. Thanks!!
Always great service and very helpful! This is the only company where a human picks up the phone immediately and helps with any concerns!
Answered all of my questions and concerns thank you again!
on time appointment
Awesome service, and it’s free! All my questions were answered, and when I was done with my appointment I knew my application was completed correctly.
The whole process was quick and the college received the funds promptly.
It was easy and our consultant was clearly an expert.
It was nice that the customer service department was very responsive via email. However, when asking for all documentation every time I thought I submitted all documents I kept getting emails requesting additional documents which was annoying. And they should wait a day or two before emailing about what’s left as I submitted a handful at a time. Then they do not distribute funds electronically they mail the check which delays the payment also leading to the loan accruing interest and you still being responsible for payment for up to 2 months. This makes no sense to me.
This was my second year completing my FAFSA with RISLA and they were very helpful! My appointment was quick and easy.
I forgot the name of the person whom I spoke with but they were fabulous!
Wonderful customer service always! Thank you. Stress-reduced experience two years in a row.
Unbelievably helpful and prompt. Great experience.
My quest was to find other opinions outside college and I got it
