Global interest in British design and manufacturing has never been higher and Samuel Groves is building on this golden opportunity by continuing to invest in manufacturing equipment to produce the very best cook and bakeware at their manufacturing site in Birmingham.
Few suppliers of hospitality products go back as far as Samuel Groves. This venerable Birmingham-based manufacturer of kitchen equipment started in 1817. The big take-off into hospitality supply came during the Second World War when Samuel Groves won a major government contract to produce aluminium trays, with many other items for the Ministry of Works and the War Office being added soon after. This helped reinforce the foundations of the modern business, which gained a major boost from the introduction of the Mermaid brand at the beginning of the 1950s.
Samuel Groves encompasses all facets of manufacturing including Metal Cutting, Presswork, Metal Spinning, Welding, Fabrication and Injection Moulding. In addition, we are able to design and manufacture our own tooling in house.
Even though the market and indeed cooking practices have evolved over the years, Samuel Groves quality and processes have improved. We remain traditional manufacturers and every product we are proud to say is still hand-finished. We have been a manufacturer in Birmingham for close to 200 years, some of the skills that will be used in the factory today will have been used all throughout those 200 years.
Every range produced at our factory, we believe is the best you can buy, whether that’s our robust stainless steel 3-ply cookware, or timeless Mermaid anodised bakeware.
It was very gratifying to find a company that was still making top quality bakeware in England. In all my searches online I hadn't come across this company before. I received my order earlier than expected and it was very well packaged with no chance of damage in transit. I am extremely pleased with the items that are so obviously of the very best quality and sure to last a lifetime. I would recommend this company to anyone searching for top quality bakeware.
Ordered a set of four pans for a new kitchen. Two months after receiving them I noticed one pan was the wrong size. Samuel groves were sympathetic and sent out the correct pan with no fuss.
excellent, really pleased with everything
Good service
Just lovely pans and great customer service. The pans themselves are a work of art and lovely to use. Just amazing. We encountered a few delivery problems over the holidays with DHL. That said, Kirsty at Samual Groves was responsive and chased the problem down with the courier. So great product and responsive customer service. Thanks.
Excellent product, as advertised – delivered more promptly than the scheduled date. The Wok we bought looks great and above all cooks beautifully. A fair price for a top quality product that will last for many years.
LOVELY NON STICK PANS, LID HANDLE GETS HOT .
Asked to review when we have not received our order yet, so not that happy
Excellent customer service - the best I have experienced When I encountered a problem with a purchase it was dealt with swiftly and efficiently with a replacement being provided very promptly despite it being over the Xmas period and during a postal strike! Many thanks
Have placed numerous orders with SG. The copper pans I would say are very well made apart from a couple of issues with them, I'm sure they will be pans for a long time. The customer service, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Because of order delays, returning one pan and then having an issue with a cast iron pan in the last week, I have to say it feels impersonal and not really much 'service' involved. For example - returning the pan was a massive faff, even though they apparently have an easy returns policy. And as for the cast iron pan - apparently, these rust if they see too much water. We weren't made aware of this massive factor in using the pans and now we have a rusty, unusable pan. Sorry to say everything hasn't stacked up here. I'll be going back to Mauviel for my copper pans again.
Bought as a present for my two daughter the five set look really nice. My daughter are really impressed with the quality, nice to have Britishs mufactured pans.
Ordered 28th November. Still not received our order. Customer service told us our order left warehouse the week before Christmas. This was a Christmas present for my husband but obviously was left disappointed on Christmas Day when he didn’t receive it. Still not arrived and customer service now ignoring my messages. I understand there’s an issue with DHL but I’ve received no tracking or dispatch notice so I can’t even track a delivery for my order.
I have not received the goods I ordered before Christmas
Wonderful company, quick response, and the best pan I've ever used.
Kirsty was so helpful. I had made an error with my order and Kirsty talked me through how to exchange and get exactly what I needed. She was very patient and helpful. The correct one arrived the next day, in time for Christmas! So grateful.
Pan exactly as advertised and received in good time.
The cast iron frying pan was very poor quality. The surface was the casting was extremely rough. With significant experience of cast iron castings, I can appreciate a decent surface, this needed a significant amount of grinding to make it use able. However, the company had it collected, and a refund d made.
Good customer service, timely delivery.
Great as always, highly recommend their products!

Jan 16,2023A well made pan but what makes it exceptional is it was made in England. So many manufacturers state designed in England then have them made in bloody China, increasing their profits for inferior products.
