Global interest in British design and manufacturing has never been higher and Samuel Groves is building on this golden opportunity by continuing to invest in manufacturing equipment to produce the very best cook and bakeware at their manufacturing site in Birmingham.

Few suppliers of hospitality products go back as far as Samuel Groves. This venerable Birmingham-based manufacturer of kitchen equipment started in 1817. The big take-off into hospitality supply came during the Second World War when Samuel Groves won a major government contract to produce aluminium trays, with many other items for the Ministry of Works and the War Office being added soon after. This helped reinforce the foundations of the modern business, which gained a major boost from the introduction of the Mermaid brand at the beginning of the 1950s.

Samuel Groves encompasses all facets of manufacturing including Metal Cutting, Presswork, Metal Spinning, Welding, Fabrication and Injection Moulding. In addition, we are able to design and manufacture our own tooling in house.

Even though the market and indeed cooking practices have evolved over the years, Samuel Groves quality and processes have improved. We remain traditional manufacturers and every product we are proud to say is still hand-finished. We have been a manufacturer in Birmingham for close to 200 years, some of the skills that will be used in the factory today will have been used all throughout those 200 years.

Every range produced at our factory, we believe is the best you can buy, whether that’s our robust stainless steel 3-ply cookware, or timeless Mermaid anodised bakeware.

The pans are fabulous to cook with. Love the heavy bases and sizes ( a steamer pot set is missing though). Would definitely purchase more from Samuel groves but bear in mind the long lead times. They don’t seem to come up very clean and even though I follow the use instructions religiously and don’t cook above a medium heat they have still discoloured with a blue tinge/white spots on them. This does not affect the function but is annoying, especially when I only wash by hand. Saying that….any cooking residue comes off very easily. Two of the set of five pans are not quite flat on the bottom…which means they rock a little on the stovetop which is slightly irritating and as it’s not on all I assume it is a very slight manufacturing flaw. A few issues with delivery as I was going away for Christmas…eventually resolved but communication was very unclear but I understood as it was a busy time.

Constant delays on my order of 2 pans, they then arrived seperately. The whole experience has put me off buying from them again.

Love the pan I purchased, though shame there is no lid available in the size I wanted. Have to admit the customer service was a bit of a strange experience and the lead time is unusually long.

Very happy with my Samuel Groves non-stick wok. It took some time to arrive but worth the wait. Made in Britain too! 🇬🇧

The Samuel Groves bakeware is hands down the best quality bakeware I have ever used. I have several Mermaid Silver Anodised bakeware products. The range is durable, excellent quality, easy to clean and doesn't rust like many others. My cakes & tarts have turned out of the tin with ease, without breaking. I can see why Samuel groves have gained an excellent reputation among professional chefs & home bakers. I will be replacing all my old bakeware and am excited to explore their wide range of quality cookware. I can tell these products will last a lifetime.

I found this company on a Buy British Facebook group whilst looking for good quality kitchenware. 1st purchase last November of a frying pan to try out and I can honestly say it is superb and gets used a lot. A lifetime guarantee as well. Just purchased a set of baking trays now and next will be a copper pan. The quality is superb, customer service quick and spot on. Overall this is a great company even more so knowing its all manufactured here in Britain. I will definitely be back

I have recently found Samuel Groves cook & bakeware range through instagram and I'm so delighted! I taught at Leith's Cookery School years ago and honestly since then I've never cooked or baked with such quality until now. All made in England, strong, sturdy, great design, lifetime guarantee...I mean just brilliant! So far I've used the Stainless Steel Tri Ply, Britannia Cast Iron and Mermaid Hard Ionised Bakeware. Next stage is to use my cast iron pan for outdoor cooking! Looking forward to that and since using Samuel Groves I've never looked back.

Ive bought 3 pans from Samuel Groves, and all have been fantastic to cook with. I did a fair amount of research, and landed on SG as other reviews seemed positive, as well as actually living across the road from the factory! (Im talking across the Cov Road if you're reading this marketing team!) Anyway, stainless is perfect, resilient, easy to clean. Im an amateur home cook, and while SG products are a little pricey (or maybe that's subjective) I know I'll be adding to my collection of SG cookware rather than trying other brands. For ref, I have the 26cm chefs pan, 28cm and 20cm frying pans in stainless, as long as you look after them, they are basically indestructible, and if you're paying this much for pans, PLEASE TAKE CARE OF THEM!

I purchased the Samuel Groves Copper Induction chef’s pan recently and it performs flawlessly! I have been on the lookout for a pan with multiple usage for a while, and this is it. So far I have made risotto, seared vegetables and toasted buckwheat in it. The high edges of this pan makes tossing the food a breeze! It is easy to clean as well, so I am happy with this product. The quality seems exceptional in every detail. Thumbs up from me!

Beautiful products that are built to last. I am especially impressed with the efforts made to be environmentally friendly; from the Recycled Britannia Range down to the paper packaging.

I bought a fabulous set of pans recently (arrived swiftly and well packaged), and have several of the Mermaid baking tins, baking trays and tarte tatin tins. I'm really enjoying using them - the pans are strong, sturdy and beautiful, with no heat spots. The baking trays are very well designed and non-stick, with clever sizes. Top quality British products that will last me a lifetime.

No indication on the product pages of the website re delivery schedules. Ordered items and subsequently got email saying dispatch would be within 20 working days. excessive time and I likely would not have purchased if I’d known ahead of time.
