Shotokan Karate JKA Academy, Luton's premier samurai style dynamic shotokan karate academy.Our Karate classes are for all ages from 4 years upwards & take you beyond your personal best towards the pursuit of excellence in body, mind, spirit.
For the Kids our JKA karate classes help you raise healthy,happy,confident children who reach their full potential through learning shotokan karate martial arts and self-defence skills as well as self-discipline.We have different programs with different focus, for example the Tiny Tigers Program for kids from 4-8 years, and Family General Program for 8 years and above.
For the Adults our JKA karate classes develop ultimate fitness, strength, & flexibility whilst teaching you ultimate JKA personal self-defence techniques as well as perfecting your physical & mental health development through the practise of karate as a martial art of ultimate self-defense as taught by Aktar sensei 6th Dan.

Jun 28,2022The karate is amazing,sensei and senpai's are actually putting effort into our learning,Sensei plans the lesson every single time and senpais assist up until the 45 minute mark.My self discipline has improved since the beginning,sensei tries hard to teach us the skills for desired black belt.

Jun 14,2022Very supportive and understanding and demanding dojo. My child really wants to learn something I seriously rather than just find it as a activity sport for some time in week. Staff makes sure kids got inspiration to achieve something than to take this lightly. All in all it's very good place get the kids learn some self defense and skills for future.

May 21,2022My daughter and I joined this club in Sep 2021. We really enjoy the classes and sensei patiently works with us to help attain perfection. My daughter's confidence has grown over time and she is passionate to keep learning from sensei and others in her class. Sensei challenges and pushes each one of us in the adults class to also reach our full potential. Lessons are three times a week and we try our best to attend all of them as this is great form of exercise which also helps our mental health after a stressful day whilst also learning a skill to defend oneself. Thank you to sensei and others in the class who are helping us develop and perfect our skills.

May 18,2022Great classes, my eleven year old son has been attending for the last year and he has made some good friends and gets on well with the teachers. Communication from the club is good with regular updates sent via Whatsapp. There have been a couple of changes of venues since we have been there which has sometimes been inconvenient but nothing too burdensome. I would have expected at least two more gradings for my son at the time he's been at the club but I think this has now fallen into place with there being another grading next month. Overall, nice club, nice staff and nice students.

May 17,2022It all started when i was looking for a karate club for my son to teach him self discipline and also as a way of exercise and not just on his gadgets. My son started in June 2021 and i remember watching him the first time and i asked him if he likes it which he did. I was intrigued with my son's interest with the martial art and i have also enrolled. I have no regrets of being in this academy either as my son. We are attending every session as we are learning a lot from Sensei Sham Akhtar and i would say that he is a great instructor not just to my son but also to me personally. He is very approachable and also knowlegeable about the art of karate.

May 14,2022He is the worse and rude trainer. Has no manners to talk to the parents. He was very disrespectful towards me and didnt allow me to raise any concern. Also kids are not safe in his hands. He pushed my kids out of the class infront of everyone. He pushed them and said go away. Very bad and rude attitude.

People treat each other with respect and treat each other equally. I highly recommend attending this JKA academy. It would benefit you in more ways than you can believe.

Apr 30,2024Just tried this school after taking my son to a different karate club in Bushey where he had a very bad experience. This school is very much more safe and professional and their sensei and instructors are brilliant. Don’t waste your time or money at any other school, for us it is worth the longer drive to attend here
