Recently purchased 110 GenieClip LB2s and 50 furring bars for a 36 square metres ceiling. Service has been excellent from the start. Great advice over the phone. Estimated number of items which proved to be just about right. Quick delivery. Only £75 delivery charge. Great communication all around. Now all fitted. Quality is excellent, as expected, and I did the installation myself following the instructions on the fitting guide. Ready for plasterboarding. Excellent service and products. Highly recommended.

Excellent. Had small issue - quickly resolved with a bare minimum of faffing around. Will definitely return.

After ordering I was called up the next day by Jim to double check if I had gotten my order wrong because it looked a little strange. The man took the time to make sure I was not making a mistake in my purchase which was really nice pro-active customer care. The package was meant to arrived in 3 days but It got here the next day after the call (a nice bonus). All in all seems like a solid business.

The products are fine, but the delivery is ludicrously overpriced for the service provided. I paid £130 for delivery, equivalent to around a third of the order value. For that I would have expected, at a minimum, an appropriately staffed delivery team. But they were both single-person deliveries which is totally inappropriate for items that are so bulky and heavy. For the first delivery I had to help the driver lift the extremely heavy plasterboard off his truck, exacerbating my pre-existing lower back pain; and for the second the driver simply dumped the heavy package of rubber mats on a restricted parking space on the street outside and drove away, leaving me to take them in on my own. An absolute disgrace given what is charged and I won't be using Soundstop again.

I recently worked with Soundstop to address a sound issue in my newly converted flat, and I'm extremely satisfied with the results. The team, especially Jim, Mikee, and Mark, were professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. Their support was crucial in helping us pass the sound test. Highly recommend Soundstop for their exceptional service and expertise!

Ok, so this is being reviewed a wee while later, we installed in 2022 because our neighbour wears old fashioned diving boots, has wooden floors and a horrendous high pitched cackle. We could also hear her slamming doors and whenever she had friends round, the cacophony of noice that ensued. measured the walls, did the living room and two upper bedrooms that adjoined her house. The SM20 materials all arrived on time, we purchased additional adhesive from Screw-Fix, the SBX board was a pain to install, in the end I just used masking tape, cheaper and just as effective in stopping all the wee particles pouring out. The rubber was a bit of a tricky cut at times, I think some kind of hot knife would be useful, but we used a Stanley. Then the accoustic sound board went up and we gap filled. Plug sockets can be a bit of a nightmare, you still need to secure them to the wall and you have to measure carefully and cut holes in the rubber in order to fit the socket box etc. We glued some of ours in, in order to keep the accoustic integrity but, you're best using a wooden batten at the rear, secured into your original wall to fix the socket box and then apply the SM20 panels on top with cut outs. Hanging pictures can be an issue so probably easier to go for bare walls. Now, two years later, we hardly hear a thing, just some faint noise when there are friends round and I can generally cover that up with music. We can still hear doors slamming but that goes through all the brickwork anyway so there's little we can do about that. None of it is lifting or coming away, it's all good and has made life a lot more peaceful. We did have one or two issues but an email and a few calls later and they were sorted. SoundStop are happy to help, they're on the end of a phone and want to keep you happy.

I am very surprised that anyone could complain about this company. I purchased, i immediately got an acknowledgement, and then a delivery date and then a time the day before. Delivery is expensive but i bought a lot of it and its heavy. I live in a semi, and all the usual complaints. Late night music, tv and talking late. The odd argument. I read reviews and spoke to numerous companys that offer solutions. Soundstop stood out for me. I emailed, and they called. I probably spent about £700 .. so I probably wasnt their biggest customers.. but i didnt feel like that at all. Their advise is SPOT on. From start to finish. I used the SM20 solution. And upgraded with the SBX for a particular corner. I made the decision to double board with accoustic plasterboard (why not I have come this far and didnt want to risk it not working fully for the cost of another 4 plasterboards). The spray on really surprised me how good that was.. and then i used the accoustic sealant wherever theyre were gaps. I also used Tech 50 to make sure the sound was not coming from under the wall. And used accoustic sealant to fill between the first two floor boards close to the wall. Neighbours in a Semi can be a nightmare. I have lost sleep for months.. and got to the point i was just literally listening out for the next episode of whatever they were watching. I DONT HEAR ANY OF THIS ANYMORE!! its a game changer. I am so happy. Yes i hear doors closing and the odd very high pitched sound. But this is not annoying and does not keep me awake. I may do other rooms as installing it isnt too hard. I am amateur level and the instructions were great. Id recommend this company 1000%. My total cost, with plasterboards, plastering, a carpet fitter to relay was £1000. This is a very practical solution at a cost level which makes sense. Thanks to Jim and Mikee who were brilliant.

I used the Genie Clip Acoustic insulation solution from Soundstop, which seemed like a great solution. It was installed by the installer according to specifications and had a rapid improvement to the acoustics of the room. However, after a few days I noticed the ceiling bend and luckily managed to get out of the room on time before it collapsed on me (and it is very very heavy and would have caused serious injury). It seems as though the SBx Boards provided started to bend over time (the likelihood of that happening was not mentioned in any documentation) pushing the plasterboard down and causing it to collapse. My ceiling now has to be completely redone, adding more costs. The installer has reached out to Soundstop but despite all the evidence provided they claim that it is due to the installer not following instructions (they did, and there was definitely nothing in the instructions about avoiding the SBx Boards bending and collapsing my ceiling) and refuse any compensation or liability. This is genuinely shocking as I could have been seriously hurt and have plenty of evidence to pursue legal action. Considering how dangerous it is in this case to use a faulty product and the high risk of injury I would recommend people not use Soundstop.

Me and my installer contacted them to ask for their sound proofing expertise and products We gave them the exact measurements and asked them what we need to sound proof a unit They gave us a list of items to buy as well as the quantity. I bought them. Before buying though, my contractor worked out that we didnt need 49 plasterboards. We ordered 26 based on our measurements Anyway... this company emailed us back saying "based on you measurements.. here's a list of what you need" (they typed exactly what the measurements were so they knew) I bought them They got delivered We absolutely jam packed the materials into the build. Didnt shy from anything. I told my installer i need the unit as sound proofed as possible. Use everything. We even used new pieces of insulation to cover gaps, Instead of offcuts as i started to realise we had so many to spare. So it turns out they quoted us with nearly twice as much as what we needed on Insulation, plasterboards, gene clips and tecsound mat. Literally all four of those items are nearly double quoted, not just 1 or two products. FOUR main components If we used everything and double padded the walls with insulation and plasterboards, we would then be short. Neither of the options makes sense Obviously i need to return them as im not paying for someone else's mistakes This is where the crazy takes place.. I have to return the items to 2 different addresses. Insulation go to 1 place, other items to another address completely I also have to pay for the shipping and they wont reimburse it. Oh and I need to organise it. They recommended me a company and they said "You will need to organize the carrier yourself. We have used the following company in the past and found them economical and reliable, but this is not an endorsement of their company or the service they offer" Hahahahahahah THENNNNN For the insulation i will lose out 40% of EACH product due to restock fees And 25% for the other products Why should i pay for all that? You told me i need it, i dont. Thats on you, the expert. Even the shipping, i wouldnt need to return things if you quoted us properly and accurately Ive been back and forth a few times with these guys on emails and phone calls, im too busy for this so im now just going straight to my bank and trading standards as they obviously dont wanna help I don't even want any sort of compensation.. I just want the products picking up and full refund. I'm a fair man. They didn't offer any help and instead wanted me to lose out more money Not once did they take responsibility for their mistakes either and "offered" to accept my returns as if theyre giving me a gesture of goodwill Products work, but if you have any type of issue... good luck getting it sorted. You're on your own

In my semi I can hear my neighbours talk behind the wall, can hear their TV and they like to fight. Basically like living in someone elses house. Dont have a space for a stud wall, so went for a stick on option. I was quite disappointed after installing everything as I could still hear the neighbours while putting my ear next to the soundproofed wall. After everything got plastered and all the mastic cured I noticed that the room that was soundproofed became quiet. Putting ear against the wall will always give you transmission, you have to assess the soundproofing results by just being in the room and hearing the difference. I then soundproofed the living room alcoves where most of the noise( tv, talking, shouting) was. Mastic is still drying and no plastering been done, but now I cant hear the TV and conversations are not too audible. Shouting next door can still be heard, you cant block that, as I can hear them outside on the street when they fight. But overall the house is now feeling more like my house and not like next door neighbours live in it. For an easy to install slimline solution the SM20 solution is quite good. Oh and I also used soundproofing wool slabs under the floors and any joists coming out of the party walls had sound mastic applied around them where there were gaps between joists and bricks. Looking for a way to fund soundproofing of the bedroom walls now.

Avoid at all costs. Ignore their statement about orders arriving by 6pm it’s a lie. I had to contact them to arrange a redelivery as I couldn’t wait any longer. They then lied to me about when the order would arrive - stating the next day. When I checked this with delivery company they said that this was not true and that Soundstop had actually rearranged delivery for 3 days later. This has caused me significant inconvenience. Be careful as they will send your order out in multiple deliveries, no matter how small, meaning you don’t get all your products at once. The furring bars that did arrive were all bent at the ends - they immediately blamed the delivery company and took no responsibility. Their solution was to bend them back with pliers? Farcical response from a company that lies to its customers.

The help, guidance and enormous patience that the staff at Advanced Acoustics gave me is beyond compare. My maths is terrible and they were so patient working out how many units I needed. When my builder and I got stuck, they spent ages on the phone explaining how to resolve the problem. Super helpful and professional. Thank you.

The team at Soundstop were outstanding in their advice and support for the installation of soundproofing throughout my terraced 1970s built home. We completed various projects in phases over a 3 year period and the support provided by Jim and the team was superb over the many hours of phone calls that were required to ascertain the best solutions for my needs (including any queries I had from my builders during installation). The solutions we used were: 1. Building a floating floor upstairs including using SBx boards and Tecsound 50 (worked well enough to cut out all tv noise from downstairs at ordinary listening volumes that wouldn’t disturb the neighbours!). 2. SM20 panel solution onto the main bedroom wall with the SBx upgrade. This was sufficient to cut out the occasional late night talking/music noise that was keeping me awake at night and was flanking upstairs from the neighbour's downstairs living room given the nature of the breeze block party wall construction. 3. Soundproofing of entire living room to convert room into a music practice (piano) and home cinema room. Here we used the Genie Clip stud wall solution using 50mm metal studs, 50mm RW3 rockwool, 2 x 12.5mm plasterboard and tecsound 70 or 100 for the flanking and party walls respectively - losing about 14cm on each wall (about as much as I could get away with) to allow a sufficient air gap to accommodate the wonky build of the walls that were clearly built pre-lasers! We removed the ceiling and created a fully floating ceiling using LB2 Genie clips (to accommodate the irregular joist heights) with 100mm RW3 rock wool between the joists. We erred on the side of caution and just added a single layer of 12.5mm acoustic plasterboard given the additional mass of the SBx/Tecsound that was resting on the floor upstairs. I have yet to test the solution with the neighbours but I have been amazed at the performance of the ceiling so far. This appears to be blocking all stereo/music noise played up to 85db at source, which is a massive improvement over the original timber ceiling/upstairs floor, where even quiet conversation was clearly audible. In fact all of the louder noise appears to be escaping only from the living room door at present and I intend to upgrade this to an acoustic doorset (including the patio doors and windows in due course). I also intend to add the acoustic mat/Tecsound 70 combination to the concrete floor. I would have no hesitation in recommending Soundstop.

I have not purchased anything from them yet because I am waiting to see the tests that support there claims. I understand from an associate that airborne can be measured in different ways which is identified by a suffix after the number. So the 56dB can have an after it an Rw, Dntw or Dntw+Ctr and all of these are different tests. I am told 56dB Rw could be a 40dB Dntw+Ctr in a different test. I am disapointed because my request has now been met with silence "no pun intended" JF

All the components arrived promptly as per the delivery emails from Soundstop. The calculated quantities of each component have proved adequate as we have now put up the ceilings and can confirm a much reduction in sound.
