I bought 4 bags of the organic compost from the range as it was very reasonable, however it absolutely stinks. What is in this stuff! Going to have to take it back as I can’t have that around my dog. Very disappointed. I would appreciate confirmation from Supagrow that this is safe for people & animals to be around.

Bought 4 bags supagrow top soil. The range. For a large area of my lawn to seed. It stinks and nothing will grow in it. What are the added nutrients?. It smells like excrement mixed with toxins. I want to know if its even safe for my animals to be near.

Had some great organic compost from them, also had a few bag bags but out of 300 bags so only 20 were bad which got replaced. Great company and will continue to get my compost from them

Awful stuff. From the stench that comes from it for the first few days down to the mixture and the growth if plants. It doesn't hold moisture doesn't feel like compost at all and has killed several plants of mine. Highly disappointed and won't be buying again and do not reccomend anyone else to purchase it just because it's cheap! It's worth spending that bit more.

Just as many others have pointed out this really isn't very good soil. Luckily I hadn't actually planted many plants at all yet and therefore may have saved myself a lot of money but I noticed my one plant that normally is super easy and particularly low maintenance most years suddenly looks very lifeless as soon as I had planted it in this soil. I therefore investigated and had come across these reviews, it's obviously not an isolated event. Please do not buy this soil just because it is cheap.

Unfortunately like the previous reviewer's experience, this also killed my plants. I recently purchased 4 bags of this compost last weekend and was excited to pot on my plants that I had nurtured from seed. Within days they've dried and died. All my hard work has been undone. I suspect there are sterilising chemicals in this compost to keep it weed free that is also kiling plants, rendering it 'NOT fit for purpose'. The texture of the soil appeared good, I used a sieve and there werent many bits however the colour was much darker than usual compost. I wish I had checked reviews before buying. To the manufacturer: I still have the bags and can provide batch numbers and photographic evidence if it helps.

Zero star rating. Purchased a bulk order last year. On opening the bags there was an awful smell, a mixture of fire ashes and chemicals. Killed the plants I potted on ( including some expensive ferns ). Horrible texture, no body at all. Vile stuff, I don't know how this stuff is still on sale. Avoid at all costs

Nah stinks like chemicals brought 4 bags for a tenner but I suppose what do you expect for that price used one bag tried to mix with some soil to calm the smell down but nothing would help It’s clumpy with god knows what and would not recommend to anyone if anything this company needs to be investigated for what’s in these products there sending out

Zero stars. Minus one hundred stars. There is nothing 'Supa' about this stuff, nothing whatsoever. Seriously, this so-called organic compost is nasty, just nasty. My tomato, aubergine, cucumber and pepper plants have been the worst I have ever grown. A terrible yield, lots of blossom end rot, the worst. Did everything right, and I know it's been a horrendous year weather-wise but even so, the results were awful. When will I stop writing this review? When I run out of words that mean bad. Such as dreadful, dire and disastrous (yes, I am using thesaurus.com because otherwise, I'll have to resort to swears). The water just ran straight through and then sat in the tray going anaerobic. It was harrowing, hideous and horrifying. The compost set in the pots like concrete and my poor plants looked tortured, despite all my efforts with seaweed feed etc. Defective, deficient, dissatisfactory. Going in the greenhouse was depressing, infuriating and, as I was growing for a client, embarassing. Now the company are going to cut and copy in how to get a refund response to this, as they have with the other poor souls who have made the same mistake as me in buying this crud, which says something about the company doesn't it. A refund doesn't replace all the lovely veggies that should have grown. Unsatisfactory, unacceptable, underwhelming. Ok, out of words.

1 start is an overstatement!.. if I could give 0 I would! Worst soil ever !!! Not one of my plants or vegetables like this soil .. it either Kills them or just stops them growing, And that’s just the beginning.. apart from the bags being 70% of wood and bark and stones ! I have found LOTS of broken glass .. broken pieces of wire some mesh of some sort, peace’s of sponge.. and peace’s od sharp metal! So if I was anyone buying this soil be careful and don’t let your kids play with it or it will be a trip to the hospital with an infected finger.

Wish I’d read these reviews before ordering this supagrow organic compost from Wickes, as part of a £200 order. When I opened the bags, they were full of a nasty grey mould and smelled awful, like sewage. I’m afraid to put it onto my garden in case the grey mould is contaminated and kills my plants.

I like many others bought this compost from the Range and regret it. I bought 4x bags of f for £10 but the compost has killed all the plants I used It on. Around £100 of plants were damaged. I have rescued what I could but am not impressed. Looking at the reviews this also doesn't seem to be an isolated problem as others still seem to have the same problem. I am surprised to see this is still for sale. I have contacted the Range as well as this issue needs resolving. It’s the only time I have ever had this problem with compost.

I bought these at Range as they were marked Organic and marketed as peat free , weed free and were 4 for 10 deal. I searched for reviews as I have noticed my vegetable plants are not happy and turning yello, dead leaves etc . It compacts too much after water/ rain and smells bad . Not sure how the company can remedy any of the damage. I have bought more than 20 bags and 6 are left . Planning to add lot of perlite & mulch to try and save the plants. Not sure if company can send some one to come and test their product and check the effect on site.

Awful, bought 4 bags from the Range and seemed a great deal and now the dahlias all dead even though they had new shoots on them and the amount of glass and plastic that I have pulled out is shocking, I know the saying but cheap but twice but just wow awful product and sadly will not use again.

I bought this compost when it was on offer at the range and it was the worst compost ever! It killed all my plants and I ended up with nettles and something called petty spurge which gave me a rash! I’ve never had a problem growing garlic and herbs and this year everything is dead. I’m so upset.

Bought 8 bags of supagrow compost ,great price of four for a tenner, using 7 bags I filled a load of patio tubs and raised planters with it , after heavy rain I noticed brown staining and a horrible goo leaking from the bottom off all tubs which i have had to jet wash off and move all tubs away to prevent this disaster happening again, the product stinks like human slurry and is jet black you wouldnt want to touch it without gloves, I also set 6 runner beans in it and only 1 is growing and 6 in some other compost and they are all now like 5 inches tall.
