Was a little confusion at the airport (Alicante) as there is a large sign with names just round the conner in arrivals rather than a person waiting at the barrier. But that was sorted out with a short phone call.

Sep 28,2022We booked a taxi transfer via Taxi2Spain for a return transfer Barcelona Airport - Cambrils for 2 adults and 2 children aged 3 and 5. We booked a minivan at a much higher cost rather than a sedan due to the fact it was important for our children to ride in age appropriate car seats on a motorway and that would have been a squeeze in a sedan. We booked and paid for 2 child seats (as opposed to booster seats). On arrival at Barcelona the driver was greeting us and was very polite and courteous however he only had 1 car seat with him! My daughter was given something that might have been a booster seat at one time but the styrofoam cushion and fabric had been removed leaving just a 5cm thick hard plastic block. Definitely not appropriate for a small 5 year old. At this point we were tired and hungry and wanted to get to the hotel so we made the journey without complaints. For our return journey the driver was 20 minutes late due to traffic and arrived with NO CAR SEATS. After a bit of digging he found 1 booster seat and 1 HALF of another booster seat that had the back half missing which meant we had to prop up my son using towels because there was a 10cm gap between the car seat backrest and his booster cushion. His neck was also really uncomfortable with the adult seat belt. This was by no means safe but we were already half an hour behind schedule and there was simply no time to arrange for alternative transport. That is not where our issues stopped however as for the return journey the driver did not take the fastest and most convenient route via toll road that had a journey time of 54 minutes and instead took a 2 hour 20 minute detour via the mountains where there were delays due to an accident en route. He didn't even ask. We would have happily paid for the toll roads!! We were now stuck in the mountains running extremely late for our flight. We arrived at the airport with just 55 minutes to go until our flight. Luckily I had factored in an extra hour of travel time! To say it was an extremely stressful journey is an understatement. I was worried for my children's safety, afraid we were going to miss our flight and to top it off the mountain roads made us all nauseous so our first step at the airport was to take the children to the toilets so they can throw up while one of us was frantically queueing to drop off our luggage before it closes. Never again with this company!
