Bought 2 Harris Tweed sofas and material is now worn out and has gone into holes. They obviously didn't check this material was suitable for upholstery. I think this shows how little they care for their products and are just in it for a quick sale at their customers expense. This purchase has resulted in me wasting several thousand pounds.

Had a tweed suite made by Tetrad for around 2 years. There is a flaw developed in one of the arm ends where the material has faded. Tedtrad don't want to know. Keep referring me back to wholesaler who refers me to Tetrad. Think twice before you purchase anything made by this company

Gosh wish I’d read these reviews before I ordered replacements chairs - YES from Tetrad. I thought I was the only one. We bought a Dunmore chair and the little button backed in Harris Tweed. Thought they were so hard wearing to last. The Dunmore developed material break down on one arm and the button back on the inside of one arm. I accept they were out of guarantee as pointed out by Tetrad because you forget when they were bought! However they said the issues were ‘normal wear and tear’ surely chairs are designed to be sat in!! Anyway tomorrow I am expecting a delivery of 2 Constable wing chairs in bespoke covers at considerable additional cost. I think Tetrad are being short changed in the quality of the supply of Harris Tweed possibly. I was excited at the prospect of the new chairs - less so now.

I have just brought the Montana sofa 2 x grand sofa and two footstools, the cushions slide off the frame can you please tell me why???? As we have paid so much money for these. Also why do we have to keep pumping up the cushions and seat cushions very poor for the money we have paid. Very expensive My sofa came with two cushions missing too and the oak legs are totally different to the ones in store. So please do not order the oak legs as this is false advertising too. When I ask to return and change them they told me I needed to pay £35 per leg so one sofa has 6 legs and I have a long foot stool with 4 legs so this was absolutely stupid. False advertisement totally. I will never buy one again. Also if I don’t pump it after seating on it, it looks out of shape and a mess

The Bowmore Sofa with Harris tweed fabric is simply disintegrating. The Company will not help, will not communicate. Nearly £2,000 down the drain. Used by one person in their 70’s Hole in the seat, hole in the arm, plus arm falling off. Reported to Trading Standards. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Bought the tetrad constable shop model and it’s the worst quality scatter cushions we have ever sat on. The cheap wool used in 4 of them is so scratchy I have had to buy new covers for them. Anyone who sat on them couldn’t stand the feel of them against their back . I’m so disappointed as I had a coat on on the shop when purchasing so didn’t notice . The leather is coated no full leather so is cracking and peeling in the creases after 4 months. So disappointed in this couch it is not a patch on the Alexander and James couch I bought alongside it.

I don’t doubt the reviews but I am surprised. We bought one of their couches about 20 years ago and another 10 years ago. The couches we received really are exceptional in terms of comfort and quality. I would give them 5 stars except that I’m looking for replacement covers for the 20 year old couch but they’re proving hard to contact.

We bought at significant expense, two large sofas. Within a few months the seat cushions were flat and impossible to shake up. The scatter cushions were just as bad. In order to get the inners in the correct position in the covers we have to unzip the cushions every time and poke the corners back! I complained and Tetrad sent a rather decrepit upholsterer who declared there is nothing wrong….of course he did. He’s paid by Tetrad. Shockingly bad standard of work, shocking company and utterly appalling customer service. Don’t go near them.

I'm so incredibly disappointed with the Harris Tweed in our Bowmore sofa. We paid a fortune for the sofa and two chairs and am now having to look at replacement as the fabric on part of the sofa seat is wearing thin. It will develop into a big hole very soon. Enquiring with Tetrad and I'm simply told the fabric we choose is now discontinued but we can of course pay someone to totally reupholster the sofa is a different fabric! That will probably cost as much as a new sofa and in the meantime what do we do about the two chairs. It looked beautiful - the cost reflected that (bill of £4k!) and the actual fabric is simply not up to the job. So very disappointed all round.

We purchased a midi Amelie sofa about 18 months ago. The style we love and comfort is good only if you plump the seat cushions daily otherwise they are flat. I strongly advise anyone thinking of purchasing one of these sofas to avoid a single long seat cushion as they are incredibly heavy for two people to do this daily and impossible for one to plump effectively. We have just taken delivery of two single seat cushions and hoping this now will be manageable, this of cause was an expensive mistake, just under £500.

We bought the Mckenzie chair that cost us over 2k in February this year and by god I wish we hadn't. After sitting in the chair for 30 mins the cushions was flat. We complained in April and was sent a replacement inner about 7 weeks later, which was no better so complained again. So this time they sent someone out who weighed the cushions and basically said that's how it's made but if your not happy you could just replace the feathers with spunge for about £30. Few weeks later I received an email from the place we bought it from saying there was nothing wrong with the cushion but the manufacturer could replace the feathers with a different inner at a cost to us and we also have to pay for delivery. So my advice would be give tetrad a wide birth as the products are not worth the price tag.

Bought a tetrad constable grand and midi sofa 25 months ago. Complained about the seat cushions after 6 months. Completely flat. I contacted the shop I bought them in but no good. I have stuffed the seat cushions with 4 feather pillows each to fill them out which they have but very comfortable. The foam core is inferior low quality material and to thin. I am in the process of pricing new cushions. If it is not to expensive I will have to go this route as the sofa is so uncomfortable. But after 2 years and spending over €6000.00 on the sofas I feel this is not on. I would advise everyone to AVOID Tetrad sofas.

I bought two Bowmore Harris Tweed covered couches 5 years ago. I know this seems like a long time but the couches are rarely sat on and there is only myself and my wife in the household. The material on one of the couches started to fray about 6 months ago right at the point the material folds from the seating panel to the front of the couch. This has now developed into a hole around 10cm x 10cm. I contacted both the retailer and Tetrad and neither offered any help. So far the Tetrad customer service team have just said it’s out of the warranty period. I strongly believe that the seating panel is under too much strain for this material. This is the cause of the Harris Tweed material starting to separate. I’m aware from other online reports that I am not the only customer to have had this problem. I feel my only recourse is to raise a small claims action and hope that a sheriff will agree with my way of thinking. If you must buy from this company I would strongly suggest you stick to removable seating cushions.

We have a technician report that was commissioned by a sofa manufacturing company (unfortunately you will have to decide who this may be) and it tells us that UV in natural light (not direct sunlight) has caused our sofas to fade (they look to us like they have been left out in the rain for weeks), this is in less than 30 months. The report says "The technician found fading / discolouration of the fabric in all areas exposed to natural light. Items are next to large windows East and West facing so not fully exposed to direct sunlight". The manufacturer concludes that no manufacturing fault found. The technician has told us "The report was written that the windows face east and West so NOT in direct sunlight. UV would however be the cause of the discolouration as there is nothing that you are doing (cleaning/colour transfer etc) that would cause this". Within their conclusion that deterioration is caused by natural light and is not a manufacturing fault, are we experiencing a totally honest company confirming that if you expose their sofas to natural light and carefully look after them you can expect them to look knackered just after their Warranty expires in 2 years? From the substance of their own report, is the manufacturers conclusion equal to a verdict from any manufacturer of any item saying, ‘similar to a banana, and almost as rapidly, ethylene in the natural air that is present in the room is causing your manufactured item to change colour, so this would not be a manufacturing issue’? I must point out that we can only reference the manufacturers own report that natural light has caused the fabric to discolour in less than 30 months, and that although the manufacturer provided the fabric for the manufacturing process, they may not be attributable to the cause of premature discolouration as this may simply be accounted for by natural light naturally causing the materials they used to look atrocious in less than 30 months. We've had various sofas (averaging about 5+ yrs duration before each change) and placed the same locations for over 33 yrs and never experienced such rapid fabric colour deterioration. Each of the previous sofas / suites were 'passed on' looking in a far far better condition and then went on to last longer and look better in their second home than these two shabby looking items possibly could, as they already need recovering. We have had a footstool for a longer duration than our current sofas, (thankfully NOT from the same supplier), and this is covered in a similar fabric and that is more exposed to any dawn and dusk ‘sunlight’ than the sofas are.....and even though it has feet resting on it, it looks like it has a good few years of trampling on it before it looks as disgusting as the sofas currently do. We think our sofas are now appalling rubbish and we should have considered a much cheaper option that may well be covered in a material that would not so badly discolour in less than 30 months. 12/02/24…We have a letter from the manufacturing companies solicitor telling us that the manufacturing company have the right to issue proceedings for defamation (2 accounts of giving 1 star reviews) i.e. to silence a pensioner that is telling you the truth. Do you think that is bullying, intimidation, or simply trying to get their star ratings up? In any event they can bring the Judge and Jury here to see the true, actual, factual, verifiable evidence.

Love, love, love my Ellington armchair and footrest. Beautifully upholstered in ruby red Verona velvet, it’s supremely comfortable and truly luxurious. Naps are now delicious; I wake feeling completely relaxed and refreshed – no pressure points, no stiffness in neck and shoulders, no numbness. With its sumptuous curves and stylish yet timeless design, it’s gorgeous to look at, too. Well worth saving for and waiting for! There were some glitches along the way. Each time, Tetrad responded quickly and took prompt remedial action. The chair was replaced twice. The first one had some upholstery issues and white fibres were migrating through the fabric. The latter was due to faulty interlining, as identified by Tetrad’s quality control. The second chair was beautifully upholstered but faulty interlining had been used. The third one is perfect. Trying, yes; but even with best will and effort, these things can happen. Tetrad took responsibility, communication was clear, I was kept informed and was never without a chair. That’s why, despite glitches, I can write this glowing review. Also worth mentioning is Tetrad’s generosity when it comes to supplying fabric samples at no charge. Looking at other reviews, it seems important to buy from a trustworthy store. I bought mine from Jarrolds of Norwich, which is well known locally for its high-quality merchandise and outstanding customer service. And I tried the chair out many times, sat in it for 20 mins or so, to make sure it was the right chair for me. I’m now saving up to buy another Tetrad armchair.
