This university is a scam. They purposely deny students scholarships. They do not care about anything but money. They claim to provide students with the opportunity to pursue higher education, yet say that you are in a competition to get a scholarship? WTF. Why did you stop at making the university tuition free? Make the whole university free, it's as simple as that.

My experience at University of the People has been terrible. I've encountered one issue after another. The Program Advisors are unhelpful. They changed my advisor without any communication, and none of my emails to them have been answered. While most of the instructors are decent, I've had one who is extremely rude and unprofessional - unethical. The course materials are poor, with an excessive amount of reading, and the quality is lacking. The time given to complete assignments is far too limited and unrealistic. I can't wait for my time at this school to end. I would not recommend this school to anyone. Pay a little more money and attend a better online institution with proper accreditation.

I am heartbroken and devastated after my experience with this institution. Yesterday, I had no choice but to withdraw from my studies after more than six years of effort. Their lack of care, poor communication and constant obstacles have completely shattered me. The responses I received from them were robotic, delayed and almost always negative. Worse, they were often from different people, none of whom seemed to take responsibility or offer genuine help. Even as I was forced to leave, nobody seemed to care about what this meant for me after dedicating so much time and money to my education. Over the years, they made drastic changes to policies, like introducing the learning path system and removing credit evaluation services, without any regard for how it would affect ongoing students. Despite submitting my credit report through an approved service and paying several hundred dollars for it, they refused to accept credits from one university while accepting those from another evaluated by the same agency. Their inconsistent decisions and purposeful delays have left me with no choice but to drop out. This entire experience has destroyed my hope for the future. I have nothing left to live for, no degree, and no opportunities because of their negligence. To anyone considering this institution, please think twice before trusting them with your education and your life.

They don’t tell you that you do have to pay for the certificate program until after you’ve registered. Once you register, they refuse to refund you. Complete scam.

I am a current student in Bachelor's degree in Health Science. It is 100% online. The assignments are pretty challenging and it does take lots of efforts to complete them. For such knowledge gained from this current program, I recommend it.

I chose this place to continue with my education goal while I was working on my budget. Now, I feel comfortable enough to afford a local University and thinking of moving but I guess I'm stuck here! It's been about two months since I requested for a transcript to be sent out to a local University paying their highest service fees and still today they never sent it. I spoke to three different program advisors about this matter, using their email and chat services, but they were all useless. The concerns have been over and over sent to the relevant department to let me know they working on it but still today I don't have any clues. I'm in the process of filing a complaint against the school and student service cause this is so disrespectful! Anyway, I don't want to discourage anyone in this new adventure but keep your eyes open.

I totally agree that this University may not be the most fantastic and that sometimes their methods are cumbersome and frustrating, nevertheless thanks to this University I am doing a Masters Degree in Russia, meeting new people, a new culture and having a wonderful time with the new people and the new experiences that I have along this new project. I am mostly thankful since I am able to claim and further my education which in turn will provide me with the tools to create what I have been looking for. If you guys need any help to study in Russia, make sure to let me know, I may be of help.

As a current student at the University of the People, I wanted to share my experience and highlight why I believe this institution stands out in the realm of online education. Affordability One of the most significant advantages of UoPeople is its affordability. With minimal tuition fees and no hidden costs, it has made higher education accessible to many who may have struggled to finance their studies elsewhere. The commitment to providing quality education at a low cost is commendable and truly sets UoPeople apart. Flexible Learning Environment UoPeople’s online format allows for incredible flexibility. I can study on my own schedule, which is crucial as I balance work and family commitments. The asynchronous classes mean I can engage with course materials and complete assignments at times that suit me best, leading to a better learning experience. Diverse Community Another aspect that makes UoPeople unique is its diverse student body. I’ve had the opportunity to connect with classmates from various countries, cultures, and backgrounds. This diversity not only enriches discussions but also fosters a sense of global community, enhancing my educational experience. Quality of Education The curriculum at UoPeople is well-structured and relevant to today’s job market. The courses are designed by experienced professionals, and the content is both engaging and informative. I’ve learned valuable skills that I can directly apply to my career. The faculty, while mostly online, have been supportive and responsive to my queries, further enriching my educational journey. Accreditation and Credibility UoPeople is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), which adds credibility to my degree. This accreditation reassures me that my education meets recognized standards, which is vital for my future career prospects. Support Services The support services offered by UoPeople have been invaluable. From academic advising to career counseling, I’ve found the resources provided to be incredibly helpful. The peer mentoring program has also allowed me to connect with fellow students who share insights and advice based on their experiences. Career Advancement Since enrolling, I’ve noticed significant personal and professional growth. My confidence has increased, and I’ve been able to apply my newfound knowledge in my job. Employers value my degree from UoPeople, and I’ve received positive feedback about the skills I’ve acquired. Final Thoughts While no institution is without its challenges, my experience at UoPeople has been overwhelmingly positive. I appreciate the affordability, flexibility, and supportive community that UoPeople offers. If you’re considering an online degree program that prioritizes accessibility and quality, I wholeheartedly recommend the University of the People.

The company offers job opportunities in other countries, such as Brazil, but they don't provide feedback, when you ask to know about the vacancy, they don't respond.A woman appeared, apparently she works for the University, but she just wanted to know what happened, she didn't help at all. Not professional at all! They talk about supporting minorities, but as a black person, I didn't even know what happened with the job opening

They pride themselves on being tuition-free, but what they don’t mention is that there are actually a lot of fees. You’ll still be paying thousands for a degree, which they don’t tell you until you’ve paid the NON-REFUNDABLE $60 registration fee. What they also don’t tell you is that you can’t apply for a scholarship for a certificate program, which costs $600.

I will graduate from UoPeople soon. I'm giving 1 star because your average review score is MUCH higher than it should be. Most of these reviews smell very fishy by the way. What kind of student goes on TrustPilot to give a 5-star review after having just joined the university (like so many reviews claim). It just doesn't happen that way. UoPeople deserves nothing higher than a 3 overall. The courses and materials are quite poorly designed. The instructors are wildly inefficient, unreliable, and inconsistent. The university seems completely and utterly indifferent to the voices of its students. And, the real reason for my 1 star, the university seems to have made no attempts to improve itself over the years. It absolutely infuriates me to see Shai patting himself on the back every year while steadfastly ignoring all the concerns which are consistently raised by the students.

As a student at the University of the People, I have had the opportunity to experience a truly unique and rewarding online learning environment. From the moment I enrolled, I was impressed by the university's commitment to providing high-quality education to students from all over the world. The online platform is user-friendly and easy to navigate, making it simple to access course materials, participate in discussions, and submit assignments. The faculty and staff are highly responsive and supportive, always willing to help with any questions or concerns I may have. One of the things that sets UoPeople apart is its focus on accessibility and affordability. As a non-profit institution, the university is dedicated to making education accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. This is reflected in the low tuition fees and generous scholarships available to students. The curriculum is comprehensive and well-structured, covering a wide range of topics and subjects. The courses are designed to be engaging and interactive, with a mix of lectures, discussions, and assignments that challenge students to think critically and creatively. I have particularly enjoyed the opportunity to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures, which has broadened my perspective and understanding of the world. The university's emphasis on community and collaboration has created a sense of belonging and camaraderie among students, which has been a valuable part of my learning experience. If I were to suggest improvements, I would recommend increasing the availability of live online sessions and providing more opportunities for students to engage in group projects and discussions. Additionally, I would like to see more resources and support available for students who may be struggling with certain subjects or assignments. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience at the University of the People. The university has exceeded my expectations in terms of quality, accessibility, and support, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a flexible and affordable online education. - Pros: * User-friendly online platform * Highly responsive faculty and staff * Affordable tuition fees and generous scholarships * Comprehensive and well-structured curriculum * Opportunities to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures * Sense of community and camaraderie among students - Cons: * Limited availability of live online sessions * Limited resources and support for students who may be struggling * Some courses may require additional software or hardware Recommendation: I would highly recommend the University of the People to anyone looking for a flexible and affordable online education. The university's commitment to accessibility, affordability, and quality education makes it an excellent choice for students from all over the world.

I took my UoP classes as transfer credits and completed my degree at UoPeople. They are very similar institutions. I would say UoP has a better 'discussion' format, but overall, quite similar. The only thing I can't figure out is, if UoPeople is in Pasadena CA, why do they ship out the degree from Bangalore India? It's a piece of paper. Couldn't they print it in Pasadena and save the cost of shipping? Just my suggestion.

Admissions/Advisor; taking weeks to make changes to may account. Signed up for BS in Business. Paid the $60. It took weeks to set up my account. Then I decided to switch to an Accounting Certificate, Paid the $60 again. Advisor keeps telling it takes time to withdraw from one program to go into the other. I work in the corporate world. School should have turnaround times listed on their site. When you make a payment, the payment should be accurate (only one payment shows). New student (just like new business) should take priority. Get us in there, signed up and class onboarding quickly. That's how you get good reviews.. Not happy.
