Jun 26,2024They are a total scam. Do not give them any money. I scheduled a move and sent a deposit...weeks later, less than 24 hours before the scheduled move, they called to reschedule, then 2 days later they called to reschedule again, then they stopped calling. I demanded a refund and they just stopped responding. They never showed up and they sole $2,500 from me.

We were quoted a 53’ trailer complete because they said they were in the area. They are liars and scammers. Do not believe anything they say.

Jun 27,2024I hired this company and paid a deposit of 1/3rd the amount of the estimate. The estimate they quoted me was for 650 sq ft of goods. When I measured the items specifically and sent them the list it came to 400 sq ft but no money off of the estimate. 5 days before my move date I received the bill of lading from the third party they hired. The fine print was ridiculous for the extra charges: 1st 7 steps are included then $75 for each step beyond that. $400 for disassembly and $400 for re-assembly. The list went on for the charges. I then researched the company the movers hired to do the actual moving and found out it had a D- rating on the Better Business Bureau and there were 37 active law suits against them for theft of property, damage to property, and extortion (charging ransoms above and beyond the quotes to deliver the goods). It took me 4 days to contact American Movers and get a hold of someone and was then told that my deposit would be forfeited because I didn't cancel within 48 hours of signing the contract. Their customer service can only confirm your move but if you need anything else it seems there is a different person in a different department they you have to get in touch with and it's only by call back or by email.
