I used ING for banking before they were bought by Capital One. I loved how they would answer as a human without an ivr. I could talk to someone who had the authority to get things done. I ran as fast as I could away from them after the buyout. Went through a bunch of credit unions with less than stellar results. I found Altra and have worked with so many helpful people. I immediately moved all my personal and business banking to them. I have literally never had a single complaint through the years. They are my go to for everything financial. Please don't change Altra. A quick special shout out to Chris Harrison on the business side and Monica La Fleur on the personal banking side. You are part of what makes Altra great.
Staff at Altra are personable and kind. Not only is there no fee for checking, but you get interest. I had a great experience getting my first mortgage and with refinancing when the interest rates had dropped. My debit card has been protected by fraud alert staff. It just feels both safe and homey to bank at Altra. Even though I moved to the Twin Cities over 8 years ago, I've continued to keep my money at Altra because of the positive experience I have had there.
I get locked out of my app/online banking 1-2 times a month. The customer service people I have talked with each time have been rude, whenever I try and call to speak with someone at my branch. I get sent to some other service and, they send me back to the same phone number.

I really feel valued as a customer anytime I contact Altra. I wish there was a way to pay from another institution
Great people to work with no matter your needs and they always try to save you money.
Don’t expect a check from this credit union for work you’ve done with a company that uses them. They’ll charge you to cash it in their bank. If you deposit it in your bank check for transaction fee from altra. It’ll be there.
Mobile banking is a problem. I have several other bank mobile accounts. They have never locked me out. This past Sunday I found on my smartphone that I was locked out of my 6 Altra accounts again. This is the third time, I believe. "Contact your branch," I was told. Of course, I could not do that on Sunday. As of today, the Altra mobile banker just keeps telling me "try again." Please fix ASAP.
The Altra team members are always helpful each time I reach out.
over the last about 70 yrs. i have done business with numerous financial institutions and altra is at the top of the list. what i appreciate most is their focus on customer service. all their employees seem to enjoy their work and it shows in how they treat me, their customer. many companies talk 'customer service' but altra and their employees deliver it !
Improve online services. And Access to my own account, right now second time im locked out of my own online acc. Smh

I was quoted a loan rate on vehicle and when went to sign it was 2 points higher . I was trying to work with manager Danielle in Onalaska to help fix the rate as she said she would help. I emailed her and another loan person. Danielle never responded to my emails . I gave up
Altra consistently provides exceptional service no matter what the situation. This is the only bank I have confidence in, and it has been that way for many years. There is always a local feel to the communications and problem solving. So, thank you for being there and all that you do to making it always an enjoyable process.
I use my iPad for banking. Suddenly Altra wont let me login with the app - my username and password aren't on record. The username and password work through a browser though. Chat on Altra.org doesn't work. What a waste of time.
Altra has been phenomenal in helping me keep up with and manage my finances. I recently spoke to Narcica and Mara (I hope I spelled that right) from the loans and credit services departments and they were absolutely AMAZING in helping me pay my auto loan. I called in about 5 minutes before closing and they were so nice and eager to help and it felt like they were treating me like heir own family. Narcica(hopefully) Especially was so eager to help me save money and find the best way to pay for me. These ladies definitely deserve a raise!
I received such great customer service when I got my loan. They were knowledgeable, helpful, and so nice, even when I call.

In each of those cases, I've found whoever I've dealt with to be very competent and very helpful to achieve my goal. That personal touch contrasts with the impersonal hands-off approach from national banks
